I think the part of the whole "tumblr users are afraid of rap" thing that gets me the most is that none of the (white) people scrambling in the replies seem to realise they're allowed to not vibe with rap. The problem isn't the fact you don't like it, the problem is the way you talk about it, it's the reasons you give for not liking rap, it's the way you refuse to treat rap as real music. You don't have to defend why you don't like rap, you just need a reason for it that isn't some bs racist stereotype.

Stop scrambling to defend yourselves and do some introspection, recognise the stigmas you are WILFULLY perpetuating and TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY.

The problem is not that you don't like rap. The problem is that you don't like rap because you are, on some level, racist. Subconsciously or not.

This is why the people in the replies and tags all look like absolute idiots, those who this doesn't apply to don't feel a need to defend themselves, they nod and move along while the guilty try to make excuses to avoid holding themselves accountable.
