A fun little challenge to work on for today. Was given the three prompts and a color palette, with the addition of black and white, to make a piece with. I am in love with how it turned out. The hands came out well and the lighting on them is just fabulous in my opinion.... especially since I haven’t done hands much recently. Digitally painted a surrealistic landscape today with the added challenge of only using 8 colors. Over the weekend, I went for a walk. An old stump stuck from the shallow water in front of where I sat for a break by the waters edge... Hidden and un-noticed from most others. I drew that stump and, using what textures and things I had learned from that first go, drew something a bit more imaginative. I've been following a workshop on skillshare recently. In four days into 14 day drawing challenge held by @marienoellewurm and having a great experience with it so far. Today's prompt was to shake it up (in opposition to the previous days feelin' slow.) The goal was to move fast, have fun, and have lots of energy! Of the four I've done, today's is so far my favorite. I had fun mixing materials (brush pens, oil pastel, and a paint marker.) I love how vibrant the piece turned out. I've never much work with patterns like this before so it was a welcomed challenge to try out. For Illustration class we were asked to watch a skillshare video going through there process of hand-making patterns. I was inspired after seeing some of the work of @teshiaart while researching contemporary artist and illustrators for a class project. Her style it truly wonderful. I love the way she uses color and her focus on animals native to her home state. We get a lot of deer and turkey in our backyard. It gave me a chance to take some cool photos to use as reference for work. I chose to do something with a really nice side shot of a turkey I had and tried to incorporate teshia's use of color into my own work. This month I took part in the sketchuary drawing challenge, where artist make a drawing for each day of February. This is the first time I’ve both started and finished one of these so I hope to continue this into the following months.
