I started Hebrew, which is why I’ve been dead on this blog, but I don’t think I can ever properly convey to you guys the sheer cultural whiplash of spending years learning Japanese from Japanese teachers and then trying to learn Hebrew from an Israeli

Japanese: you walk into class already apologizing for being alive Hebrew: you walk into class, the teacher insults you and you are expected to insult her back

Japanese: conjugates every single verb based on degree of intended politeness, nevermind keigo and honorifics Hebrew: Someone asked my teacher how to say “excuse me” and she laughed for several seconds before saying we shouldn’t worry about remembering that since we’ll never need to say it

Japanese: if you get one stroke wrong the entire kanji is incomprehensible Hebrew: cursive? script? fuck it do whatever you want, you don’t even have to write the vowels out unless you feel like it

Japanese: the closest thing there is to ‘bastard’ is an excessively direct ‘you’ pronoun Hebrew: ‘bitch’ translates directly

I was walking through a crowd at a Three Days Grace concert, and suddenly this girl grabbed me and said, “Oh my gods, honey, I'e been looking everywhere for you.” She claimed to be my fiancée, and she gave me this cool iron ring and taught me how to box. We went wedding dress shopping and she got a gorgeous lace gown and I got a mix between a dress and a tux (that I absolutely rocked).

Then she morphed into a dragon and ate my dad. We still got married tho.

I don't get why people are like "ace/aro can't exist" like, just because you can't imagine your life without sex/romantic love doesn't mean everybody can. Like, I couldn't imagine what my life would be without karate, it's an enormous part of my life, yet I don't go around saying "all of the people who don't do karate aren't valid" I mean, do what you want. I personally love that and I wish you to find something that brings you as much joy as I feel when I do karate, but if you don't want to do karate, I won't force you. That's the exact opposite of why I do it.
