[APH X Puella Magi AU] Magicatalia Fanart Contest

Hello everyone mun mermaid here. I would like to tell you that I am holding a fanart contest from July 12 to July 27, where you can draw any character you want from this AU.

To take part there are some simple rules:

1. Be creative. Feel free to draw any character in Magicatalia. It can be your ship, your favorite character or favorite scene from the Fanfic, Magicatalia: The Beginning Of A New Story.

2. No stealing of art from the contestants, otherwise you’ll be eliminated. I wanted you guys to be creative with your work.

3. Also, no R-18 and Gore artwork. You’re allowed to draw Slight Violence, but not too extreme. Break this rule, you’ll be eliminated.

4. If you are going to post your entry to your social media accounts, pls tag me and Julchen K to these following accounts:

Puella Magi AU: Vanessa Maribela de la Cruz (Visayas)

Name: Vanessa Maribela de la Cruz

Age: 17

Grade: 5th year (Grade 11)

Appearance: She as a long dark brown wavy hair with light brown ombre on the tips, brown eyes, and a tan slim body.

Family: She lives with her twin brother, Victor. The Visayan provinces and cities live with her like Celina and her twin brother. She is the older sister of Maria, Josefa, Aisha (Nyo! Mindanao), and their twin brothers. Though, They live in different houses.

Soul gem: Her soul gem is a magenta Pasaw flower, which locates on her necklace when she transforms.

Wish: “I wish people to accept me as much as I accept them of what they are.”

Weapon: She used a magenta long wand bolo with a Pasaw Flower on top of the flower and some gold details. She is more on a Mage and Lancer mode.

Outfit: She wears a yellow long ruffle sleeve blouse/kimona and a long magenta wrap skirt. Also, she wears a pearl crown on her head, a pearl bracelet, a golden necklace, and a pair of wedge sandals. Her outfit is mixed with Amaya and some Visayan dresses.

Witch form: Her witch form is Alunsina named after the Visyan Virgin Goddess of The Eastern Skies. Alunsina is a manananggal who is always capable of severing its upper torso and sprouting its bat-like wings to fly into the night in search of its victims. She can turn into a beautiful woman similar to Maria Cacao to lure her victims and kills them caused by her jealousy. Her labyrinth is Mount Cacao in Cebu, Philippines.

Puella Magi AU: Aisha Ouhood de la Cruz (Nyo! Mindanao)

Name: Aisha Ouhood de la Cruz

Age: 16

Grade: 4th year (Grade 10)

Appearance: She as a long black hair, brown eyes, and a tan slim body with a few scars on her back. Also, she wears a hijab most of the time but removes it when she was with her female friends and sisters. Of course, she removes it during her transformation.

Family: She lives with her twin brother, Mijid. The provinces and cities live with her like Davide (Davao) and his twin sister. She is the youngest sister of Maria, Josefa, Vanessa, and their twin brothers. Though, they live in different houses.

Soul gem: Her soul gem is a blue shaped tear which locates at the center of her blouse as a pendant.

Wish: “I wish to give my promised peace to my family.

Weapon: Her weapon is an Umbrella Kampilan Sword. It can turn into a traditional Singkil Umbrella and a traditional Maranao sword, which is the Kampilan sword. She is more on a Fighter mode.

Outfit: Her outfit is similar to a Pangalay Dancer. She wears a Tausuig dress which consists of a sky blue long blouse, a bubble gum pink malong with Tausug patterns, and a lime green asymmetrical skirt that reaches below her knees. Also, she wears a pair of gold shoes, gold earrings, and a gold hairpiece. Her palette is similar to Aisha’s Enchantix form.

Witch form: Her witch form is Minaden named after the Mindanaon goddess, who creates the world. She is a Minokawa who can swallow her enemies as the sun. She is colorful as a Sarimanok but can kill anyone who destroys her promised peace. Her labyrinth is the the Enchanted City of Coguiton in Surigao del Norte, Philippines.

Puella Magi AU: Josefa Maricela de la Cruz (Nyo! Luzon)

Name: Josefa Maricela de la Cruz

Age: 17

Grade: 5th year (Grade 11)

Appearance: She has black hair tied in a lower ponytail, brown eyes, and a tan slim body with a hidden scar on her back. Also, she wears glasses but removes it when she transforms.

Family: She lives with her two brothers, Joseph and Emilio, and her sister, Maria. She also has distant siblings like Vanessa (Visayas), Victor (Nyo! Visayas), Aisha (Nyo! Mindanao), and Majid (Mindanao). The other Luzonese provinces and cities also live with her, like Mahalia and her twin brother.

Soul gem: Her soul gem is a golden sun with eight rays or the Philippine Sun, which locates on her left side of her chest.

Wish: “I wish for an honor to fight for my family, my ancestors, my friends, and my country”

Weapon: She used a revamped ‘Spain M93’, which is similar to the one used in the Philippine Revolution. She is more on a Marksman mode (Sharpshooter).

Outfit: Her outfit is similar to the uniforms during the Philippine Revolution. She wears a blue/white polo shirt, with red belts, white skirt (below the knee), and brown boots.

Witch form: Her witch form is Hukluban named after the Tagalog Goddess of Death. Hukluban is a shapeshifting mangkukulam who can transform herself into any form she desires. She can kill someone by simply raising her hand if you are disgraceful to her words. Her labyrinth is Malacañang Palace in Manila, Philippines.

Hey guys! Here is the alternate designs of Nyo! France. I made two versions, with and without the cape. Take note that I asked permission to the creators before drawing and posting it.

For Francine, she wears an elegant violet top and a violet skirt, with her top consists of white laces and a black bow in the center. Also, she wears a dark violet cape and a pair of black boots. When I design her outfit, it looks similar to Marie Antoinette. In summary, her outfit’s inspiration is from French Fairytales and Marie Antoinette.

I had fun designing their outfits and feel free to draw or cosplay these designs as long as you credit me. I hope you guys like it!

Magicatalia Witch Descriptions: PH Provinces & Cities - Dal’lang

Witch

Dal’lang: She is a Red Lady with an expressive nature. The Red Lady is the most dangerous ghost than the White Lady and Black Lady. They said that the Red Lady died because of sexual abuse. She kills people with her chains or actions for not allowing her to express.

Minions

Nilyo: They are the Banwaanons named after the Visayan God of Blessings and Santo Niño. The Banwaanon is the Cebuano version of the engkanto. It believed that these beings with Caucasian features would appear to people they like. They are also ready to help those who help them. Their job is to help Dal’lang express herself by dancing.

She is the witch form of Cecelia Juana Dela Cruz (Cebu)

Hey guys! Here are the alternate designs of Nyo! Spain and Nyo! Portugal. I did this like a long time, but I have to ask permision from the owners before posting it.

For Isabella, she wears an elegant red dress resembling a flamenco dancer. It is an off-shoulder sleeveless dress with a ruffle skirt. I noticed that her dress or design is similar to Elena of Avalor. So, I mix both designs to make it more beautiful.

For Gloria, she wears a long dress which has a resemblance to a pirate dress during the renaissance. It consists of an off shouldered and a coral pink and red wench dress. To be honest, I wanted her to have a pirate design, but it looks weird on her. I gave her the skirt to maintain the old design, but with some pirate vibes.

I had fun designing their outfits and would love to cosplay them. Take note that I asked permission to the creators before drawing and posting it. Feel free to draw or cosplay these designs as long as you credit me. I hope you guys like it!

Witch

Tala: Ang Multo ng Manila City Hall (t/n: The Ghost of Manila City Hall), named after the Tagalog Goddess of the Star. Tala is a ghost from the woman who died during WW2. She haunts the enemies through dancing and singing. Her labryinth is similar to the infamous Manila City Hall.

Minions

Kang: They are the other ghosts or multo who were the prisoners, slaves and victims of the past( mostly from the Spanish period and from the Japanese occupation). Their role is to haunt the enemies with their wails of help.

Witch

Hanan: Named after the goddess of the morning and rebirth. She is a Tiktik also known as a type of aswang. They hunger for flesh and blood, especially that of fetuses. They look like harpies, and both creatures are named after the sounds they create. Her labryinth is similar to the Correigidor Island and the Aguinaldo mansion.

Minions

Garilyo: They are a group of Kapres. A Kapre is a filthy giant who likes to smoke huge rolls of cigars, and hide within, and atop large trees, particularly the balete and old acacia or mango trees. Their role is to protect the Aguinaldo Mansion and protect Hanan.

Witch

Malyari: A mambabarang is a kind of a mangkukulam. Mambabarang are ordinary human beings with black magic who torture and later kill their victims by infesting their bodies with insects. Her labyrinth is similar to the famous fields of Pampanga.

Minions

Matsura: They are her right hand dwendes or dwarves. They are little creatures who provide good fortune or foretell an ominous fate to people. Their job is to curse the people who hated Malyari’s cooking and witchcraft.

Puella Magi AU: Raquel Gomez (Nyo! Mexico)

Name: Raquel Gomez

Age: 17

Grade:5th grade of high school

Family: She lives with her twin brother, Alejandro (Mexico)

Appearance: Raquel has semi length black/dark brown hair tied in twin braids and brown eyes.

Personality: Raquel has a bold and affectionate personality. She has some traits as an older sister or a caretaker in different aspects. Also, she can be caring and sassy as Alejandro. She likes playing the guitar and listen to it, especially Mariachi songs. She has a taste and culture like her twin brother. She likes spicy food like tacos and burritos and loves Mesoamerican mythologies, especially Aztec mythology. She mostly hangout with Conception (Nyo! Cuba) and her group of friends. She is close friends with Madeline and Amelia, though Amelia and Raquel have a friendly rivalry for being the best big sister for Tyler (Texas) and Estella (Nyo! Texas). Not all people know about Aztec mythology, which made Raquel left out. Ever since their mother died, she felt clueless and traumatized. She wanted people to know about Aztec mythology and like it.

Soul gem: Her soul gem is a green Aztec pyramid which locates on her right shoulder.

Wish: Her wish is to let people appreciate the culture of Mexico especially the Aztecs

Weapon: guitar

Outfit: She wears a beautiful traditional Mexican dress. The dress resembles a Campeche and Jalisco design with a white blouse, green skirt with white laces, and a few gold details. Also, she has two green ribbons on her braids, two gold bracelets, and a pair of Huaraches (Mexican shoes).

Witch form: Her witch form is Coatlicue, named after the Aztec earth goddess. She is a witch who mourns for her trauma like her inspiration, La Llorona. Her labyrinth is similar to Teotihuacán, which is a famous Aztec ruin.

Puella Magi AU: Madeline Williams (Nyo! Canada)

Name: Madeline Williams

Age: 16

Grade: 4th grade of high school

Appearance: Madeline has a long strawberry blond hair tied in lower pigtails and purple eyes.

Family: She lives with her two brothers, Matthew and Alfred, and her sister, Amelia. She also has distant siblings like Trista (Nyo! Molossia) and Nick (Molossia).

Personality: Madeline is a shy and kind-hearted girl. She can be awkward as Matthew, but more approachable. She and Matthew are the most mature ones in the family. She cares for her younger siblings, even if they can be energetic and talkative. She has a heart for hockey and nature. Also, she likes cooking pancakes with maple syrup and has a bear named Kumarie. Just like her younger sister, she is close friends with Raquel, Conception, and their brothers. She is the one who apologized a lot for her sister’s extroverted spirit. Besides her other friends, she also hangs out with Alice and Francine. She sees Francine and Alice as her older sisters and treats her fairly. Most of the time, she is close to Francine and her siblings. She and Francine also love to go shopping together. Madeline has a heart for nature and wants to spread awareness. When she was young, she was a trained girl scout and always hang out in the woods. Right now, she is conscious of her surroundings. Likewise, she stands for nature and would fight for it.

Weapon: hockey stick

Outfit: She wears a long red/strawberry pink French dress with orange maple leaf details. She has a white hood that represents Winter in Canada. Also, she has two maple leaf-shaped hairclips on her pigtails and red boots. Her outfit resembles Little Red Riding Hood.

Wish: Her wish is to protect Canadian nature for a better cause.

Witch form: Her witch from is Ivy, named after Poison Ivy. Ivy is a wendigo who care for nature and kills anyone who destroys it. Her labyrinth is similar to the Boreal Forest Region, which is the largest forest in Canada. Ivy might have similarities with Poison Ivy and the Wendigo.

Name: Amelia F. Jones

Age: 16

Grade: 4th grade of high school

Appearance: Amelia has a short strawberry blond hair and blue eyes.

Family: She lives with her two brothers, Alfred and Matthew, and her sister, Madeline. She also has distant siblings like Trista (Nyo! Molossia) and Nick (Molossia). The US states are also her distant siblings but live in a different house.

Personality: Amelia is a playful and energic person. She isn’t just your typical sassy pretty girl but can be tomboyish too.

She has a passion for sports, especially baseball and basketball. She loves to play with her siblings, even her sister Madeline beats her in every round of hockey. Also, she is a big fan of comics and famous action movies. Just like Alfred, she is playful with siblings and has a good relationship with them. She is close friends with Alejandro and Raquel, even if they have a friendly rivalry on who is the best companion of Tyler and Estella. She seems that she knows to socialize with other people. Her Latin American friends seem to dislike her for being too talkative, especially Conception (Nyo! Cuba) and Maximo (Cuba). Her Asian friends like her because of her playful spirit, especially Young-Soo (South Korea), Fahmad (Nyo! Malaysia), and Maria (Philippines). Because of her enthusiasm, she wants to be a hero in her own way. She wants to inspire people to do what they want to do. She sees girls as heroines, not damsels in distress.

Soul gem: Her soul gem is a blue star-shaped gem, which locates between her chest and neck.

Wish: Her wish is to become her own hero.

Weapon: baseball stick

Outfit: She wears a blue sports top with some white details and blue shorts similar to Shera (Shera and the Princesses of Power). Her blue shorts consist of a half skirt She has a pair of white gloves similar to Sayaka but with blue details. Also, she wears two star-shaped hair clips on her hair, a white superhero cape and a pair of blue superhero boots with white details. Her outfit resembles Wonder Woman, Super Girl, and Shera.

Witch form: Her witch form is Harley, named after Harley Quinn. Harley is a humanoid/alien girl who drags her victims to the comic world in confusion. Her labyrinth is base on famous superhero comics. Harley might have similarities with Harley Quinn and the Loveland Frog/Lizard.

Name: Cynthia Quisipe

Appearance: She has long straight hair that reaches her waist that she is in twin braids when she is on her magical girl form, olive brown eyes, tan complexion and an average body type.

Family: Her big brother, Xavier Quisipe, and the provinces and cities of Peru.

Soul gem: The Chakana Amulet that she has while in her magical girl form.

Wish: “I want people to appreciate the ancient and fascinating civilization of the Incas especially the Peruvian side.”

Weapon: Bolas

Wish: “I want people to appreciate the ancient and fascinating civilization of the Incas especially the Peruvian side.”

Outfit: She wears a red, white,yellow, green, and black traditional Peruvian dress with Peruvian and Chinchero designs that reaches her knees. She sometimes wears her red fringe shawl with green, yellow and black Inca designs in her magical form.She wears black sandals with high heels.

Witch form: Ch'aka the Huayramama , which is a giant boa with a face and hair of a old woman. Her labyrinth is the famous Machu Pichu.

Name: Valentina Gonzalez

Age: 17

Grade: 11

Appearance: She has medium wavy long blonde hair, reddish brown eyes, slightly tan complexion and have a pear shaped body type.

Family: Her younger brother, Joaquin Gonzalez, her provinces and cities.

Soul gem: The Sun Of May Amulet

Wish: “I wish to be the best multitalented person that I can be.”

Weapon: The Facon of the Gaucho which is a knife for fighting and for ulities.

Outfit: She wears a traditional maroon red and black Argentine top which is a mashup of the Gaucho top, black belt, a maroon red tango skirt and black tango sandal heels. Her outfit inspirations is Carmen Sandiego and the Tango female dancers.

Witch form: Morticia the Yacumama is also a goddess of the water, but it takes the form of an elderly human woman that approaches kids who enter the river to collect water in their canteens. Her Labyrinth is similar to the Nahuel Huapi Lake and the Igazú Falls.

Puella Magi AU: Isabella Fernarez Carriedo(Nyo! Spain)

Name: Isabella Fernarez Carriedo

Age: 17

Appearance: Isabella has long wavy brown hair tied up in a bun and a pair of green eyes.

Grade: 5th grade of high school

Family: She lives with her younger brother, Antonio) and two of her older siblings, Joao (Portuga) and Gloria (Nyo! Portugal).

Soul gem: Her soul gem is a pointed red crown which locates below her chest line.

Personality: Isabella is a cheerful and passionate person. She has some similarities with Antonio, like caring for the people around them and can be carefree. She is the youngest of the family, so she gets teased by her older siblings, Joao and Gloria. She likes dancing and cooking delicious food. Many people admired her skills in dancing and cooking. She secretly watches telenovelas with Soojin (Nyo! Korea) and Delara (Nyo! Turkey). They will cry for weeks just for one scene. Because she’s a caring person, she can be motherly. She treats Chiara and Felice (Nyo! Italy) as her younger siblings and inspire them, the same goes for Feliciano and Lovino. She is besties with Julchen and Francine (Nyo! France). They are very close alongside Gilbert and Francis. She has some rivalry with Gloria’s friends, mostly Alice and Arthur. She also spends time with Chiara’s group of friends and seems to get along with everyone, even if she has some rivalry issues. Considering that she is cheerful, she wants people to admire each other with positivity. Many people see her as an inspiration, but she is aware of other people’s actions. She knew that they have differences. She wanted people to feel positivity, even the smallest things.

Wish: Her wish is to let people admire the world and see the positivity around them.

Outfit: She wears an elegant red dress resembling a flamenco dancer. It is an off-shoulder sleeveless dress with a ruffle skirt. She has a carnation flower on her hair, a ruby bracelet on her left hand, and a pair of red flamenco shoes.

Witch form: Her witch form is Ataecina, named after the Lusitanian Goddess of the Underworld. She is an Aloja who lures her victims into admiration. She has an oneiric beauty that can shapeshift into a blackbird. Her labyrinth is similar to Plaza de España in Sevile, Spain.
