Nestled in the mountain region of the state of Tabasco lies a jungle paradise known as Tapijulapa. The town, lined with red roof and white facade homes and cobblestone streets, is a nod to the country's history under Spanish rule. Tapijulapa means, "the place where pitchers are broken". The town was and still is home to a group of Maya known as Zoques and you can see their wares around town and in the local museums.

Excite your taste buds with regional dishes like the Shote, which is river escargot with banana sauce and a cocoa/corn drink.
