Since Beldum and Magnemite evolve by combining, is it possible for them to be only partially shiny?

evolving a shiny Beldum/Magnemite in the games suggests that either A) only shiny Beldum/Magnemite get together to evolve, or B) evolution makes the shiny gene predominant in all members.

that said, I really like the idea of there being a small chance of getting partially shiny "piebald" variations of those Pokemon due to them fusing with non-shiny individuals
