Masoom mohabbat ka bas itna fasaana hai, Kaghaz ki haveli hai, baarish ka zamana hai.
Kya rasm-e-mohabbat hai kya shart-e-zamaana hai, Aawaz bhi zakhmi hai, aur geet bhi gaana hai.
Toota huwa dil apna youn unko dikhaana hai, Bheegi huwi aankhon se ek sher sunana hai.
Uss par utarne ki umeed nahi rakhna, Kashti bhi purani hai, aur toofan bhi aana hai.
Samjhe ya na samjhe woh andaaz mohabbat ka, Ek shaks ko ankhon se dil ka sara dard sunana hai.
Naadani mere dil ki phir ishq ke zaad par hai, Phir aag ka darya hai, phir doob hi jaana hai.
Yeh ishq nahi aasaan, bas itna samaj lijiye,  Ek aag ka darya hai, aur doob ke jaana hai!

You wish to find a man who looks at you quietly, with soft reservation and gratitude. You don’t need the sweeping gestures, that paths of petals, the fists of diamonds. Those things are often less about making you happy and more about making you pliable. You need him to look at you past the reinforced walls that you’ve built around yourself, to the woman who is waiting for someone to say “I don’t love you for what you can do for me, I love you because your mere existence makes everything better. Just knowing that you exist, somewhere in the world, makes everything better.”
Key Ballah, reflections on love (via keywrites)

It is always important to know when something has reached its end. Closing circles, shutting doors, finishing chapters, it doesn’t matter what we call it; what matters is to leave in the past those moments in life that are over.

Hate having an untold story, lurking at the tip of my tongue, constantly toying with release and inhibition. Such stories only dream of meeting paper.

Love your mother, the most beautiful person on this earth. Our best critic, yet our strongest supporter. Our paradise in this world.

Our souls know each other well, almost a little too well. When you leave, will there be a soft crack for someone new to fill, or will your departure cause a crater of unforgivable proportions?

I am not superwoman. My mother is not superwoman. My mother’s mother is not superwoman. I am, we are, soft. Can shatter. Crumble in your hands. Our survival does not mean we prosper. We are like other women but unlike them. So do not tell us we can handle anything. We only seem like superwoman, a figment of your imagination, because you have forced our lives to be perpetual labor with only seconds of relief. If we carry the world on our shoulders and the children on our backs, what are we but your glorified mules slapped with guilt praises of perseverance and strength. Our bones and our blood and our sweat have built the wealth of nations. Our burial should not be the first time we rest.
