“Oi. You look like shit, Kariya.”
An amazing greeting, he knew, for his opponent of a decade prior. But it was the truth. The state this man was in was one no man deserved, one he would not even wish on his greatest of enemies. The Matou magic, and the later revelations of Zouken’s schemes, were disgusting to Waver.
So he took a seat next to the man on the ground. The other magus, aged far beyond Waver despite him having a ten year gap, looked just as he’d remembered. A broken shell of a man, who gave all he had for a simple reason. In his final days, he had gone farther than he’d ever wanted to, too far. But Waver could not fully blame him for what had happened.
And so, with one lit in his mouth, he pointed a package of cigarettes at his former foe.

Teacher and Student, Reunited at Last
“Ara, ara, as if dealing with Reines wasn’t curse enough, the source has been thrown back at me. The rumors of bringing back the dead here were true I guess.”
He should have been surprised. Not only did he know the man named his master, whose title he now held die, he had done so long ago. It had been ten years after the war, after the horrible trick pulled by Kiritsugu. Yet the sad state he had now met him in was not someone revived in their prime. It was a broken man, nearing the end of his days without help. A shattered Magus, whose potential for anything was long gone.
If it were anyone else, Waver would have pittied them. He would have given the, begrudging but still there, support and aid, as he did the failing family of the one before him. But he held little, if any, for this man himself.

“How does it feel to see the future, master.” he said in a sarcasm so strong one could feel it hanging in the air. “To see the runt you belittled not only surpassed you, but was given your magic and your title, that you held so dear. Am I worth a damn now, Kayneth?”

Twice is Coincidence, Thrice is Intentional
The magus had walked the are of several parts of the city, trying to grasp where exactly he had been taken. It was no real surprise to him, being Zelretch’s  assistant led to many instances of dimensional warping. He himself had just never been a part of it.
However, in his pseudo exploration, he’d spotted a familiar, if not old, sight. The blue color was different from the casual clothing he had known, but he was also aware of this look of hers. He knew much of her other war, as well as the one they had both been a part of. She was not exactly someone he was particularly ecstatic to have found, but there were also many worse. With a flick of his wrist, he threw to the ground and stepped on his cigarette before approaching her.

“I should be surprised to find you here, and yet after being summoned a second time, and staying, I can’t say this is the exactly odd. You’re as persistent as some of my students are, you know. So, what headaches am I going to have to clean up this time Saber.”

//The grumpy grown up Master is finally here
I’ll be keeping him out of the event for now, so like this for a non event starter, cap at three. Muses from Type Moon need not mind the cap.
