SIMFLIX RECAP: Everyone Hates Devin (Episode 3: Devin vs. Michael Sleep)
Tumblr media
Everyone Hates Devin, the Simflix Original Series
Everyone Hates Devin, the hit exposé docuseries on streaming giant Simflix that details (in detail) the plentiful feuds and conflicts of our favorite problematic entertainer Devin Ashton, has just released its third episode.
Though episode 1 revealed that he was secretly all along a member of Bridgeport's infamous political family, the Cooks, and has a strained relationship with them, while episode 2 delved into his tense relationship with his record label Maxis Music Machine, the newest episode 3 unpacked his nasty feud with his former One Reflection bandmate, Michael Sleep.
The episode revealed that the two did indeed have a very nasty and explosive feud, culminating in a very violent altercation at a San Myshuno karaoke nightclub some time ago while filming for a shelved reality show titled Love and Bubblegum Pop: San Myshuno.
With previously unreleased footage detailing the events leading up to the fight, we have a clear view on what happened that night.
SYNOPSIS
The episode basically revealed that contrary to what both Devin and Michael kept telling the public (that they never fought or argued and were actually best friends), the two did not get along at all. They would constantly argue during their time in the band - particularly over lyrics, writing credits, Devin's vocals being mostly regulated to the background while Michael and others got to sing lead more often, etc. They would often trade highly disrespectful insults at each other as well. At one point, Devin called Michael a "nepo baby" (referring to him being the youngest brother of acclaimed actor Matthew Hamming); Michael responded by making fun of Devin's fractured relationship with his family and how he was the "least popular and least talented" member of the group.
When Devin sensationally left the group and later launched his own solo career, Michael was apparently the most angered and distraught by his departure. Michael also did not appreciate Devin telling people in the industry about how he was mistreated during his time in One Reflection.
EPISODE HIGHLIGHT: THE FIGHT
Katrina Caliente, an A&R for Maxis Music Machine, was hired as a producer to launch Love and Bubblegum Pop: San Myshuno (a part of the sprawling Love and Genre reality franchise); to make things interesting, she casted both Devin and Michael, as well as another former One Reflection bandmate, Akira Kibo, to be on the show.
For context, One Reflection was already on "indefinite hiatus" at this point; Devin had just released his debut album and quickly completed his sophomore album while Michael had just completed his solo debut album. The day the fight happened, Devin had completed a photoshoot for his second album.
The fight started at a San Myshuno recording studio when the two bumped into each other. We can see that Devin and Michael - their first interaction since the group ended - were not happy to see each other.
Tumblr media
Devin (left) and Michael (right) glaring at each other.
Michael can be heard in the footage accusing Devin of "playing the victim better than he plays the AutoTune" and getting quite aggressive with him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Apparently while Michael was still talking, Devin abruptly walked away and left the recording studio in a panic with Katrina, who was there at the recording studio on A&R duties for Devin.
Devin and Katrina then went to a nearby a karaoke nightclub for some drinks and relaxation - and that's where the fight took place.
Michael followed them there, sat at the table they were seated at and continued to argue with Devin. Katrina ultimately tried to play peacemaker between the two though Michael proceeded to cuss out Devin who just sat there. Cameras catch the argument both from a distance and up close, in which Michael blames Devin for One Reflection going into an indefinite hiatus at the height of their popularity and success.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Katrina Caliente (trying to mediate between Michael and Devin): "Maybe we can talk this over after I get us all some drinks, right? You two will be toasting each other's solo career in no time!"
Michael Sleep (when yelling at Devin): "Or maybe if this pink llamamuncher here actually had some frucking talent and learned how to play an instrument instead of flawlessly playing the victim, we wouldn't have to toast to solo careers! The band would still be together!"
In an attempt to keep the peace, Katrina walked away to get drinks for the guys and herself. As she was gone, Michael continued to cuss at Devin. Devin got up from the table in an attempt to get away from Michael; Michael quickly got up and began shoving Devin. Devin then tried to walk the other way but Michael followed him and then managed to slap him twice!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Michael then lunged at Devin - and that's when the two began fighting!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The fight was seen by all the other clubgoers, including Katrina was still at the bar getting the drinks. Though she did not want to get caught up in the fight, Katrina can be heard in the background begging the two to stop fighting. The fight was ultimately broken up Akira Kibo, who just so happened to walk in for a drink when he immediately witnessed the fight.
Tumblr media
Apparently, Michael won the fight; as Michael was being dragged away by Akira, Devin had to be immediately rushed out of the club by Katrina to seek medical attention. The cameras do not show how bad his injuries were but judging by the bystanders' reaction to the fight and its aftermath, we could probably tell it was indeed bad.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE AFTERMATH
Our takeaways from the aftermath of the nasty fight were these:
Both Devin's label (Maxis Music Machine) and Michael's label (New Tastemakers) paid lots of money to cover up the fight and prevent it from leaking to the press, fearful that it might bring negative attention to the two artists by ruining their otherwise clean cut images and affect their album sales.
Katrina felt terrible that the fight happened and immediately afterwards scrapped Love and Bubblegum Pop: San Myshuno entirely, instead focusing on Love and Bubblegum Pop: Del Sol Valley and Love and Indie/Alternative Rock: Brindleton Bay.
Michael and Devin would work together again, this time in harmony and little more time passed, on the musical film Similton.
Neither Devin, Michael nor Katrina have commented on the episode or the footage of the fight. Michael currently as a Great reputation (with it nearing to Pristine); many of his fans are worried that his reputation ranking may be drastically affected by the newly exposed footage of the fight.
In the meantime, the next episode of Everyone Hates Devin, will apparently detail his feud with another One Reflection band member - with it this time being Salim Benali!
Stay tuned and stay streaming on Simflix!

DEVIN ASHTON - Gossip and the Rain
Amid a critically acclaimed film, a successful role in a Wideway musical and now a Simflix series dedicated to all his feuds and problematic behavior in the entertainment industry, we look back on the former One Reflection member's debut solo album as its released on vinyl for the first time.
Tumblr media
Devin Ashton and his record label Maxis Music Machine have announced that they will be releasing Ashton's first two albums on vinyl, including his solo debut album Gossip and the Rain.
----
Gossip and the Rain is the solo debut album by Simerican entertainer Devin Ashton. Released via Maxis Music Machine, it was released after he departed from the pop group One Reflection and, therefore, makes him the first former member of the group to release a solo album.
A pop record with alternative and indie pop influences, Ashton wrote all the original songs on the album while its production was handled by acclaimed award-winning producers Buster Round, Ebenezer Clavier, Bart Hammer, Aria Trill and Suzy Strummer. The album features one covered song, "Spinning The Wheel".
Despite low expectations from critics of the album's quality considering Ashton's reputation at the time, the album received mixed to positive reviews, receiving zero negative reviews from professional critics. Critics praised the album's production and considered it the album's "saving grace"; Ashton's writing and vocal performance received mixed responses, with some noting that pitch correction was heavily used on Ashton's vocals.
The album debuted at number twenty-five on the Simboard 200 and ultimately peaked at number twelve. It has since been certified Platinum by the Plumbob Recording Assocation Academy (PRAA).
The album spawned four singles: "Help Me Run Away", "Spinning the Wheel", "Somebody Else" and "Physical", which were all released in quick succession from each other. The album's first three singles reached the top forty on the Simboard Heat 100 while its final single, "Physical", reached the top twenty.
----
----
SINGLES FROM THE ALBUM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The album's singles (from clockwise starting top left): "Help Me Run Away", "Somebody Else", "Spinning The Wheel" and "Physical".
"Help Me Run Away"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #30]. Devin's solo debut single.
"Somebody Else"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #34]. Another artist quickly covered and released their version as single, with it charting higher that Devin's original version.
"Spinning The Wheel"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #21; certified Gold]. Originally done by a legendary singer and released earlier in his career, long before Devin even began singing professionally, Devin covered the song for fun but was surprised the label chose it to be released as a single. Though the legendary singer appreciated Devin's version, he asked the label (that they were both signed to) to pull it from radio which they obliged, ultimately halting promotion for Devin's version. The legendary singer then re-released his original version, where it reached the top ten on the Simboard Heat 100. Of all the singles on the album, Devin did not film a video for this single. Many speculated that it would've reached the top twenty had it continued to be promoted by the label.
"Physical"; [Simboard Heat 100 peak: #16; certified Platinum]. Devin's first top twenty hit and eventually first Platinum single.
----
Devin was roasted for the album's surprisingly (and relatively) low first week sales as many expected better from a former member of the most popular boy band in the world, One Reflection - even if he was the least popular member of said group! Despite the album not receiving any nominations during the awards seasons, Ashton quickly released his sophomore album which received a better critical response and got him his first nominations and his first top ten hits as well!
The album's release on vinyl comes after an extremely busy time for the multi-hypenated entertainer. Not only did he receive acclaim for his acting performances in the film Good Broadcasting Service this past Summer and in the Wideway musical hit Security this past Spring, he is now the main subject of scandalous new Simflix docuseries titled Everyone Hates Devin, which details his past and current feuds and his supposed problematic antics in the entertainment industry. The show has received positive reviews so far though Devin has yet to comment on it.
Tumblr media
Courtesy of Maxis Music Machine, the album is now available on vinyl in two colors: black and cobalt blue! Also available on CD, cassette, digital download and streaming.

TIARA ANGELISTA - Princess
Just in time for Record Store Day, the multi-hypenated entertainer finally releases all of her albums, including her debut LP, on vinyl.
Tumblr media
Tiara Angelista and her record label Maxis Music Machine have announced that they will be releasing all of Angelista’s discography on vinyl for Record Store Day - including her debut album, Princess, for the first time ever.
-----
Princess is the solo debut album by Simerican entertainer Tiara Angelista. Released just shortly after she abruptly departed the popular television series Little Angels and the pop group of the same name that was created from the show, the album was released via Maxis Music Machine.
Primarily a dance pop record with emphasized EDM influences, Angelista initially wrote all the songs on the album for Little Angels; however, after she was released and removed from the group and the accompanying television series, Maxis Music Machine allowed her to re-work the songs for her solo debut while she also wrote new songs as well.
Upon its release, the album received critical and audience acclaim with praise being directed towards Angelista’s vocals, the album's production and its commercial appeal. The album was commercially successful, reaching number one on the Simboard 200. The album has been certified multi-platinum by the Plumbob Recording Association Academy (PRAA).
The album spawned six singles: "Hot Right Now", "Young", "RIP" (feat. Tom Wordy), "Call My Name", "So Far" and "Telescope"; all of them reached number one on the Simboard Heat 100 and were certified multi-platinum by the PRAA.
The album and its singles were nominated for numerous awards including Best Album at the Starlight Music Accolades, the Offy Awards, the International Music Awards and the Intergalactic Excellence in Entertainment Accolade. The album helped Angelista win awards in categories relating to Best New Artist.
-----
By the way, Tiara came up with the album's title because her first name is also a word used to describe a jeweled crown that is usually worn by female royalty (such as, like you know, princesses)! It's like Tiara, the name -> tiara, the crown usually worn by princesses -> Princess. Wow, her mind!
Tiara's imperial phase and her reputation as Supreme Main Pop Girl pretty much immediately started after the release of this album. In addition to the album and its singles, Tiara collaborated with plenty of other artists by either providing co-lead or featuring vocals or writing/co-writing songs for them. During this time, Tiara also had the time and energy to film a high-budget prestige film.
Despite the album's success, Tiara was known to avoid talking about this album in interviews, as it was an apparent reminder of a very tough time she was going through in her personal life. Of course, now that some time has passed, she's more than willing to at least acknowledge that it exists - and even more so now that its on vinyl just in time for Record Store Day along with the rest of her discography!
Tumblr media
The album is also available on CD, cassette, digital download and streaming. Courtesty of Maxis Music Machine.

THORNE BAILEY - Octavia
A career-ending album for the once celebrated singer/"songwriter", a vinyl release is finally announced amid an unexpected resurgence in popularity for the once hated LP.
Tumblr media
Thorne Bailey and his former record label Maxis Music Machine has announced that they will be re-releasing his highly controversial album Octavia, including a first time release on colored vinyl.
-----
Octavia is the fifth studio album by Simerican pop/R&B singer Thorne Bailey. The album serves as a direct follow up for his critically acclaimed and commercial successful projects VoidBops Vol. 3 and Last Night Was A Blur, the latter being his official fourth album. Unlike his previous album Last Night Was A Blur, in which he worked with various acclaimed producers and songwriters, Octavia was solely written by him while he reunited and produced the album with his longtime collaborator Big Hartley.
The album is a concept album as it primarily addresses his failed marriage to singer-songwriter Octavia Moon and expressing his desire to reconcile with her and save his marraige.
Upon its release, the album received mixed to negative critical reception and commercially underperformed; though it peaked at number four on the Simboard 200 and was eventually certified Gold by the Plumbob Recording Academy Association for sales over 500,000 copies, it was Bailey's first album to not reach number one on the albums chart and his first to not be certified Platinum. Furthermore, it was Bailey's first album to not receive nominations at the Starlight Music Accolades, Offy Awards or International Music Awards.
-----
The re-release comes amid renew interest towards the album after it was virtually turned into a hit musical on Wideway. The hit musical, How to Win Your Wife Back, tells the story of an popular author who writes and releases a book of poetry to win his wife back and save his marriage. In the musical, all of the songs from the Octavia album are used, as well other songs from Bailey's discography. How to Win Your Wife Back opened on Wideway to critical and audience acclaim and it was recently nominated for fourteen Simone Awards, including Best Musical.
This is a far-cry from the backlash Bailey received from the album which followed a series of rumors that caused his once-pristine reputation and his career to decline. Despite the album's failure, Octavia Moon cancelled the divorce and reconciled with Bailey - but only briefly so. Eventually she filed for divorce a second time and ultimately went through with it.
Tumblr media
Octavia will be released for the first time ever on vinyl, with it coming in two color options: black and yellow with blue splatter. It has been noted that yellow and blue are his ex-wife's favorite colors - and will probably fuel the rumors that he is still not over her.

AWARDS SEASON BUZZ! Profile: Tiara Angelista, the crowned princess of the awards season!
Izzy: Top of the morning to you fab folks and welcome back to Awards Season Buzz!! Now, look, this next person doesn’t really need an introduction. All I have to say is two words and you know what time it is: Tiara freaking Angelista!
Tumblr media
Tiara Angelista won acclaim this past cycle for her roles in the hit films House of DiAggro and Six Wives, doing a mighty good job of playing scorned wives in both films (the latter being a musical based on the hit musical theatre production) considering how she’s happily married to THE Matthew Hamming. She also received acclaim for her participation in the ensemble-casted musical art films directed by Noah Meyer, Island and Homeland.
For her thrilling performance in House of DiAggro, Tiara won Best Lead Actress* at the **62nd Starlight Film Accolades and its companion Starlight Film Critics Choice Accolades, that just happened recently. She also won Best Lead Actress Dramatic Performance at the most recent but quietly held Golden Plumbobs. Needless to say, Tiara is considered the lead contender to win Best Lead Actress at the Simcademy Awards and later the International Film Awards.
But not only did she dominate film this past cycle, she also definitely ruled music too!
Tumblr media
Tiara started her cycle in music right with her participation in Simivision and it only just got better for her from there, especially with the release of her latest LP, Alarm.
Alarm is the seventh studio album by Tiara Angelista. Released via Maxis Music Machine this past summer, the album is primarily a pop record, that incorporates elements of EDM, R&B, Windenpop, and dance pop and lyrically touches upon topics such as womanhood, intimacy, and self-confidence. Upon its release, it received critical acclaim from critics and the general public. It debuted at number one on the Simboard 200, becoming her seventh consecutive number one, setting a chart record. The album has been certified 2x Platinum by the Plumbob Recording Industry Assocation.
The album spawned four singles: “The Moon Is Rising”, “Siren Song”, “I’m The Woman”, and “Rampampam”. She participated in Simivision representing Bridgeport with “The Moon Is Rising”, ultimately placing fourth in what was a very tough contest this time around. “Siren Song” peaked at #1 on the Simboard Heat 100, while the other three singles peaked within the top five on the chart.
Tiara won big and nearly dominated at the 62nd Starlight Music Accolades, winning (or just nominated) for:

Best Recording of Cultural Imapact (for Alarm; nominated - lost to “SHUM” by SAYO)

Fashion police alert!: Not only is Tiara rocking a vintage DiAggro dress - probably as a nod for her role in House of DiAggro - but she also said that she got her hair done at the WingsSims Hair Salon.
Well that’s all for Awards Season Buzz! Tune in next time. Buh bye darlings!

AWARDS SEASONS BUZZ! Profile: Noah Meyer, the new golden boy of film - literally!
Izzy: Top of the morning babes and welcome back to another episode of Awards Season Buzz!! Now, one of the most successful films of the awards season has been the musical art film Island, which took top honors at the Starlight Film Accolades and the Golden Plumbobs. Not only is Island finding a lot of success but so is it’s director, the one and only new golden boy director, Noah Meyer! Let’s take a look at Noah Meyer’s golden path to awards gold - and his equally golden look on the Starlight Film Accolades red carpet.
Tumblr media
Noah Meyer is a Newcrest director, cinematographer, photographer, production designer/set decorator and screenwriter. He is best know for his award-winning film Island and his other award-winning or nominated works such as Homeland, Bloom, and Insight. He is the son of legendary director and screenwriter Neil Meyer and brother of music video director, cinematographer, and photographer Noel Meyer.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meyer (pictured above at the 62nd Starlight Film Accolades carpet) had a wonderful cycle with two of his films, Island and Homeland, both receiving widespread critical acclaim and overall praise from audiences.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Both Island and Homeland are described as Meyer’s unique brand of “musical art films”, with both productions being based off of well-known musical works by well-established acts; Island is based off the chart-topping, multiplatinum album of the same name by alternative pop band Passion Weekend Fires, while Homeland is based off the classical composition Ma vlast by Windenburg classical composer Bedrich Simtana. Both films, which feature ensemble casts who speak little to no dialogue, put heavily pointed emphasis on Meyer’s visual interpretations based on the musical source material, mainly focusing on cinematography, production design/aesthetics, and the music itself.
Both films performed well at The Most Beautiful Film In The World Festival, which highlights and awards the best in cinematography and production design in film in the past cycle. Island placed first in all three main categories (Excellence in Cinematography, Excellence in Production Design and the titular, The Most Beautiful Film In The World), while Homeland placed second in those same categories.
Both films were nominated for the same exact six categories at the 62nd Starlight Film Accolades: Best Film, Best Production Design, Best Cinematography, Best Casting/Overall Cast, Best Director, and Best Experimental Class Film. Island won all six awards and also won Best Musical/Comedic Film at the most recent Golden Plumbobs.

AWARDS SEASON BUZZ! Film Profile: "Island", Starlight Film Accolade Winner for Best Film
Ozzy: Top of the morning good folks, back to you with some more Awards Season Buzz! The Starlight Accolades complex just recently completed, the Golden Plumbobs quietly happened, and the Starlight Critics' Choice Accolades complex are coming up soon! One of the most nominated films of the season, Island, is set to possibly dominate them all - albeit with some stiff competition! Let's take a look at the Starlight Film Accolade winner for Best Film!
Tumblr media
Island is a jukebox musical anthology art film directed by Noah Meyer. The film is musically based off the chart-topping, multi-platinum album of the same name by alternative pop band Passion Weekend Fires. The film features an ensemble cast and, through eleven vignettes/segments (reflecting the number of tracks on the album the film is based on), tells the story of a group of tourists who visit Sulani together on vacation and quickly grow fond of the island's natural beauty, people, and culture. The segments sometimes feature a few, some, or all of the tourists depending on which scene.
Filmed in Sulani and making its world premiere at the Casbah Gallery in San Myshuno before this past Harvestfest, upon its release to movie theatres (via a "staggered rollout") shortly after, the film received widespread critical acclaim while also being well received amongst audiences as well.
Island created pre-awards season hype when it did extremely well at The Most Beautiful Film In the World Festival, which highlights and also awards the best in art direction and cinematography in film in the past cycle. Island won all three main prizes; it placed first in Excellence in Art Direction and Excellence in Cinematography and was then crowned the main prize: the titular The Most Beautiful Film In the World.
Island won six awards at the 62nd Starlight Film Accolades:
Best Film
Best Production Design
Best Cinematography
Best Casting/Overall Cast
Best Director (for Noah Meyer)
Best Experimental Class Film
It won all of the awards it was nominated for and beat out favorites such as The Power of the Llama and House of DiAggro, which both has become the film's (very surprising) competiton: At the most recent (and quietly held) Golden Plumbob Awards, Island won Best Musical/Comedic Film while The Power of the Llama and House of DiAggro both tied for Best Dramatic Film. Noah Meyer was also nominated for Best Director; the award went to Cassandra Goth, who directed The Power of the Llama.
With awards season definitely heating up now (if it isn't hot already), could Noah Meyer and his musical art film that could, Island, take home some Simcademy Award gold? Or at least get nominated? We'll keep you up to date and let you know on the next Awards Season Buzz!

AWARDS SEASON BUZZ!: Film Profile - “House of DiAggro” starring Tiara Angelista, Michael Sleep, and Barry Tenderlove
G'day good folks. Ozzy Fabulous here to present to the first of our profiles of the awards season buzz where we highlight the potential contenders - and flops - this past cycle that might garner some gold this up and coming awards season! First up, one of my favorite films released this past Autumn and what a wonderful way to round out the cycle, it's House of DiAggro!
Tumblr media
House of DiAggro, recently released this past Harvestfest, stars Tiara Angelista and Michael Sleep in the leading roles; Barry Tenderlove, Ernesto Valeta (his first film outside of Windenburg), and legendary actor Waldemar Fenoglio round out the cast in supporting roles. It is directed by critically acclaimed director Paolo Romeo.
Based on the true scandalous story of the DiAggro family, one of the mighty family dynasties of high fashion, the film tells the biographical tale of Patrizio DiAggro (played by Sleep) and his highly ambitious wife Maurizia (Angelista) as they enter into the DiAggro family business of high fashion and get immersed into luxurious but cutthroat lifestyle in the process. The power couple ultimately battles for supremacy and control of the company - and their namesake - against Patrizio's uncle and cousin (Fenoglio and Tenderlove, respectively), their own lawyer (Valeta), and themselves. It all eventually leads to a series of tragic and shocking events that no one could have ever predicted.
The film has drawn critical acclaim from critics and general audiences who have praised the performances of the cast, the costuming, the set design, and the cinematography.
The film basically swept the Autumn seasonal Starlight Film Accolades, winning in all of its eligbile categories, including Best Film of the Season. Angelista won Best Lead Actress of the Season and Sleep won Best Lead Actor of the Season. Tenderlove and Valleta tied for for Best Supporting Actor of the Season and Romeo won Best Director of the Season. (In addition, Fenoglio was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor of the Season but did win obviously :()
As such, the film and the winning cast members, director and crew are automatically nominated in their respective categories for the prestigious comprehensive cycle-end Starlight Film Accolades, which honors the best in film in the entire cycle (that is throughout the past four seasons) - and then some!
Most critics predict that the film and certain parties involved could be a STRONG contender to be a big winner at the Simcademy Awards and the International Film Awards.
House of DiAggro is in theatres now.
Seriously, you gorgeous folks should go see it. Tiara is the queen as always. See ya!
[The Fab Twin Bros give a TedTalk on how the Starlight Accolades work lolz.]
Also the poster is supposed to read "Father, Son, and House of DiAggro" because there was an attempt to make a reference on my part but cleary a fail but whatevs lol.

AWARDS SEASON BUZZ!: The Starlight Accolades Explained
Tumblr media
Top of the morning fabulous babes. Izzy Fabulous here just being super excited about awards season coming upon us soon, which means that major award ceremonies are just around the corner - including the Starlight Accolades!
Now there is a lot that goes into the Starlight Accolades, considering how they have an individual awards ceremony for almost everything - music, film, theatre, literature and even technology-based media like video games and viral social media videos, you name it - they are on a mission to honor the comprehensive best in entertainment and, wow, what an ambitious mission it is.
However, how did winning and being nominated for a Starlight Accolade become one of the benchmarks as being recognized as one of the best of the best? Let's get to it, babes.
Quick overview, I promise
Here is the list of ALL the Starlight Accolades ceremonies that exist:
Starlight Film Accolades
Starlight Music Accolades
Starlight Television Accolades
Starlight Theatre & Arts Accolades
Starlight Literature Accolades
Starlight Visual Games Accolades
Starlight Social Media Accolades
Starlight Venus Accolades (honoring the best in woohoography)
With the eight of these distinct Starlight Accolade ceremonies having an entirely different "Critics Choice" ceremony of their own as well, that means that the Starlight Academy is in charge of 16 (!) different award ceremonies, all in the name of entertainment!
Each award ceremony - which the exception of the Television accolades - occur five times per cycle.
As we all know there are four seasons in one cycle (Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall in "chronological" order) and towards the end of each season, each award ceremony acknowledges the best that season had to offer. Once the cycle has completed, a cycle-end award ceremony takes place.
The cycle-end award ceremonies are considered to be one of the major award ceremonies during awards season (depending on the field of entertainment) and are usually considered very prestigious over the seasonal award ceremonies.
For the Television Accolades, only two ceremonies take place: one for the so-called "television season" (occurs from Fall to Spring) and cycle-end.
Confusing, like, I know babes.
How nominations work
The cycle-end Starlight Accolades has eight nomination slots for their general/big categories and six in all other categories per ceremony.
There are two ways to get nominated:
If you win an award during any of the seasonal award ceremonies, you are automatically nominated for the prestigious cycle-end ceremony.
Example: Tiara Angelista SWEPT the Summer ceremony for the Starlight Music Accolades, winning Best Album for her critically acclaimed LP Alarm and Song of the Summer and Best Recording for her smash hit single "Siren Song". As such, automatically, Alarm is nominated for Best Album and "Siren Song" is nominated for Best Song and Best Recording at the major prestigious cycle-end Starlight Music Accolades.
Another example is when Berry, starring Victor Dove, won Best Film at the Winter seasonal ceremony for the Starlight Film Accolades and is now automatically nominated for Best Film at the major cycle-end Starlight Film Accolades. Dove, who won Best Lead Actor at the same Winter seasonal ceremony, is also automatically nominated for Best Lead Actor at the upcoming cycle-end Starlight Film Accolades.
You are a wildcard choice and are selected to fill the rest of the nominations slots by a Starlight Academy panel.
If an eligible piece of work did not win an award in a certain or any category at the seasonal ceremonies, there is still a chance they can still snag a nomination for the cycle-end ceremony! However, the fates and chances of being nominated lies in the hands of a panel made up of Starlight Academy members who determines who should round out the nominations list via a couple of rounds of voting.
Example: Lilith Vatore's album Love and/or Power was nominated for Best Album at the Summer seasonal Starlight Music Accolades but lost to Tiara Angelista. There's still a possibility that she can still earn a nomination for Best Album - if the Academy votes her through to final nominations list of 8.
Once the nominations list is figured out by the Academy, they go through rounds of voting to determine to see if we have our winner! So much info but so much excitement.
With Autumn now over and the holiday season Winter here, which means its almost out with the old cycle and onto the new one, and with all of the Autumn seasonal Starlight Accolades ceremonies just conducted with winners announced (more on that later), the cycle-end award nominations and ceremony is coming really really soon.
Stay tuned for that, as me and my fabulous twin Ozzy announce the nominations for the cycle-end Starlight Accolades ceremonies or whatever lol! K, everyone have a nice day until then and Happy Holidays! Buh bye!
