“no crew, no help, just pure hustle” cut to this poor woman bawling her eyes out. what the fuck is wrong with people? why is this being framed as a good or impressive feat? this person makes below poverty wages already. Burger King meanwhile takes in $27 billion in global revenue every single year. everyone involved in making this woman endure this should be tortured and force fed chicken fries until their heart gives out. fuck this country.

Its been a hot minute since I sort of compiled all of Hoodlum/Fenix's lore/story beats so uhhhhh check under da cut if u wanna know more abt Weird Girl that I shove at Phantom ;0
She was a human from the 'real world', and a mere 19 years old when summoned by Polokus and arriving amongst the ashes of his dream thanks to the Rabbid Invasion Force. The god was the only one left (aside from trusted right-hand Murfy) and reached out to one with a spark similar to the Glade's fallen hero. At least that's how Polokus puts it, Murfy makes a joking aside that she was chosen because she was called 'Ray'. Polokus then entreats Ray with the last remaining magic of the dream(aka the world of Rayman 2 and 3), and to 'ensure this fate doesn't befall anywhere else the Rabbids tread', sending her off as he falls into slumber to create a new dream/world (Rayman Origins/Legends). Using this newly gifted magic, she made clothes, gear, and weapons to suit a grim task, adopting the moniker and aesthetic of 'Hoodlum'. Rayman 3 was her favorite game of the series, after all.
The changes to her appearance was just her eye colour and pointed ears, at first. But her attention was focused on tracking the RIF and their leader, Sergei. There are several firefights over many years, both with basic Rabbid Invaders and then Sergei himself, as she hunts the RIF relentlessly through dimensions. Things eventually come down to a final confrontation between Hoodlum and Sergei. It's brutal and bloody, but Hoodlum manages to send Sergei careening into a seemingly bottomless pit, the large Rabbids last act of retaliation against her is raking his massive claws into her face, leaving Hoodlum with her most prominent scar.
Then the Rabbids just sort of...snapped out of it. Their permanent rage mode ended and they just seemed confused and lost. And VERY scared of Hoodlum, for good reason. They still remembered she was a hunter, and a threat. So, the remains of the RIF scattered, frantically hopping dimensions to shake their pursuer. But Hoodlum is not so easily dissuaded. She still had to make sure that nowhere else would be harmed by the little buggers. But as the years went on...it truly seemed like their violent warpath was gone for good. They were still chaotic and destructive, but it was never really intentional anymore. Hoodlum was...somewhat conflicted. Wary. Could she really trust that her long hunt was over? Someone still should keep an eye on them, at least.
Then, the events of Kingdom Battle played out. Hoodlum would be a frequent presence in the game, being all mysterious and somewhat aggressive toward the team, still not quite trusting this change of heart in the Rabbids, especially with the Megabug affecting a large amount of them. Toward the last act, Hoodlum finally breaks through her hesitance and allows her heart to embrace good once more as she helps end the Megabug for good. She then timidly explains herself once the dust has settled, and states that she's glad the Rabbids have found their place and turns to leave for the horizon. To her surprise, her former quarry are insistent she stay; having already decided she is forgiven, accepted, and their new guardian. A station she humbly accepts. (It is in these peaceful years that she encounters Phantom, which I went into a couple years ago here: https://www.tumblr.com/majorpepperidge/729270397391044608/x-rpinky-x-teehee-thank-u-theyre-both-disasters?source=share SOME info is a lil out of date but the primary story beats are still true)
And yet, as time passes, Hoodlum's guilt and doubts creep back into her mind, feeding off her crisis of purpose now that her hunt is over, but she can never go home again. So, she quietly packs her things, hops into her personal aircraft in the early hours one morning, and flies off into the galaxy. She doesn't have a destination, she doesn't have supplies. She's simply going as far as she can go, to die somewhere no one has to see her shameful state. Eventually, as she's in the weird liminal space between life and death she realizes she doesn't truly want to die, but she can't go on as Hoodlum any longer. Her mission from a desperate god is over. It's then that her soul alights, finally absorbing the remaining magic from Polokus, reshaping and reviving her into a being of magic, a fae akin to those from the Glade of Dreams. Fenix awakes with renewed purpose. The galaxy is vast, and she can't be everywhere at once to watch over every Rabbid colony on every new world. So, it was time to find some exceptional people, and guide them to be leaders, empowered with the magic to maintain and protect their people and their planets. Wardens. Yes. That'll do for a title. And it was rather good timing on Fenix's part too. For a few years after establishing her Wardens, the first signs of Cursa begin to spread.

Assorted scribbles of the day. Fenix (and her Kingdom Battle identity of Hoodlum) with the fancy magics courtesy of Polokus. And Phantom making an observation abt the narrative I've established with him and Fenix (should their ship name be Song of Healing? For the THEMES and a fun Majora's Mask reference?? Hrmm) and promptly shoving ghostly foot into mouth.

Messed with captura for RP icon stuff and sometimes I forget how truly massive Fibonacci is. Were all Norg like this in the Orokin era and its just the intense radiation of Earth/time and evolutionary changes in general that shrunk them/dulled their colour? Is he genuinely just a fringe case akin to a designer/fancy breed? Either way! Love is stored in the bigass fish. Bonus:
u smell good
#Warframe#Warframe Fibonacci#Warframe Drifter#he's like a sunfish except infinitely smarter#not even taking into account the 'heightened to human sapience and speech' sunfish just dumb as hell

the biggest loss of animated movies trending towards sympathetic villains/no villains is that we dont get enough crazy death scenes anymore. stuff like tarzan's villain accidentally hanging himself or help i'm a fish's villain drowning and floating away silently on screen. sometimes your movies just need stuff to scare 8 year olds shitless. its good for the enviroment i think. probably.
#it reminds me of back in highschool when i was relentlessly bullied#and when i would go to admins for ANY sort of help#I would get sat down by people who worked in the office and never in the classroom#and be told 'well we can't do anything about it because they come from a bad home'#who the fuck CARES about their 'tragic backstory' their CURRENT ACTIONS ARE HARMING ME#if villains refuse to change or learn or improve then they gotta be punished no matter what man like damn!!!
