Mama Klees coming to Cola!

I’m super excited because my mom is coming tonight to spend the weekend with me! Her and my friend's mom are coming and they got us an Airbnb to spend the weekend at. I'm excited to sleep not in a twin bed for a bit. Tomorrow, I want to go to Final Victory and do doggie day out with her. Then on Saturday, we are all getting brunch together and later that night we are going to the Ella Langley concert! It's going to be so much fun but I need to learn some more of her songs. I only know one so I need to start listening to them asap. I haven’t seen her since I left for winter break. And we are also planning on going birthday shopping for me because my birthday is next weekend. Going to be a great weekend

Rain/cold = depression

This week so far has been pretty draining. Had an exam, and it went alright. But it's okay. I have a good grade in the class already so it shouldn’t affect it too much. Also… this weather. It has been cold and rainy all week and it's making me so depressed. This weather has been making it hard for me to do anything or go to class because it's so cold. I swear walking to class today it was starting to flurry. I feel like I am back in my cold hometown. But I'm looking forward to next week because it's going to be so warm and nice. I can’t wait to lay out and start tanning. I am done with the self tan and spray tans and I am ready to get a real sun tan.

Ty Myers concert fun

For Christmas, my mom surprised me with tickets to go see Ty Myers at The Senate here in Columbia. I was so excited throughout the week to see him. I listened to all of his songs (and tried to learn the ones I didn’t know) all week so that I was prepared to see him. My friends and I all got tickets to go together to see him. Some of my friends got there at 1:30pm so they were the first in line. They waited for 6 hours to see him. The rest of my friends and I got there at 7pm and had pretty good spots. The concert was so good! He is such an amazing singer and his singing sounds exactly like his recorded songs. What an amazing experience!!!

Stressful beginning of the week!

The beginning of this week has been the most hectic one yet. On Tuesday, I had one quiz and two exams. And of course, the procrastinator that I am, had to wait to study for those last minutes. But it worked out in the end! Monday, I didn't have any classes, so I spent the whole stay studying for all of them. Once Tuesday came, I was prepared for it! I did super well on all of my exams and quizzes. Hard work really does pay off! After I finished them, I felt like I had a weight lifted off of me. Felt nice to not be super stressed.

Admitted students day

This weekend was admitted student day and the campus was crazy! So many families were running around campus. It was a madhouse! It is crazy to me that that was me a year ago; touring the campus, listening to seminars, deciding if I wanted to come here. Now being an actual college student, seeing these kids makes me reflect on my senior year of high school and all the tough decisions I had. Some of my friends who are seniors in high school now came to admitted students day and they came over to my dorm and we talked about USC. I think one of them is going to commit here and the other one is not sure yet. But I would love to have them here!

Exams Ugh

Now that we are in the full swing of assignments, exams are starting. Next week, I have two exams on the same day of course. My course load recently has been a lot and I have definitely been feeling the effects of that. I feel like we just started the beginning of the semester and now I am already having exams. It's crazy how fast time goes by. The weeks are short but the days are long. Especially in college, there is so much to do but I also feel like I have a lot of free time to do whatever I want

Sick Season :(

Of course, right when I start the week, I get a cold. It hasn’t been too bad, I’ve been trying to stay hydrated and take vitamin c. It’s hard being in college when I have a cold because sometimes I don’t want to get up in the middle of my 200 person lecture to go blow my nose. In high school, it would be easy because I could just blow my nose in the classroom or I would just not go to school altogether. But in college, most of my classes have mandatory attendance, and I’m not sick enough where I could go get a doctor's note. I heard that the flu has been going around, but my cold hasn’t been too bad. Some of my friends found out they got the flu today but I haven’t been around them in a while so I should be all good. I’m hoping I can be all better before I go to the Tennessee Mountains this weekend!

Mountain fun!

A few days ago, I got invited to go on a mountain trip with some friends! I am super excited and we leave Friday to go. The thing is, it is four and a half hours away. It is probably going to be longer than that with us stopping for food and gas. We are staying in this massive house and it is going to be so fun! I heard there are mountain roller coasters we can go on which seems so exciting. I just have to make sure I get all my work done before I go so I am not stressed over getting it done while I’m there. I also don’t think there is going to be good wifi either. This is the third trip I’m taking with friends during college and I hope I have a great time!

Snow fun!

Being from the north, it is so normal for us. So coming down to the south and experiencing my first “snow day” here has been hilarious. The snow was barely even an inch and they canceled school for two ½ days! At home, we would be in school this whole week, maybe a 2 hour delay. On the night it snowed, me and some friends went sledding on this massive hill. We went down laundry baskets, large packing bags, and even a canoe! There was barely any snow on the hill but it was still so fun. Today, when I was walking to class, I slipped and fell on the ice. That's one thing I was not expecting today. This whole week, I only went to two classes. That's crazy!!!

Sylly week is over :(

Sylly week has been so good. Classes haven’t been too bad and I got to see so many friends. But now it's time to lock in. I'm looking at my schedule for this week… so many assignments. I'm just going to study a lot and not procrastinate. Tomorrow, I was supposed to have a quiz for my anatomy and physiology class, but all classes are canceled because of snow! It's so different here compared to back home because they never get snow, so even the littlest of snow gets them canceled. I hope tomorrow night I can go play in the snow Lol.

Hump Day Self Care

As a college student, it can be difficult to stay on top of making time for myself. Today, I only had one class this morning, so I decided today I am going to reset and clean. I went to the gym and took a cycling class. Afterwords, I cleaned my dorm and decided to catch up on work. Later tonight, I am getting a spray tan with my friend. What a great day :)

Later this weekend, one of my friends who is a senior in high school is coming to visit my friends and I because she is coming to USC next year. I am super excited to show her around campus before she comes in the fall!

First Week Crazies

This week did not start off how I wanted it to. I flew from my hometown back to USC on Saturday night. When I got off the plane, my checked bag didn't end up making it onto the flight. Not just mine, the whole flights checked luggage too. I was about to "crash out" because it had everything in there. The flight was already delayed while we were on the tarmac about to take off, so I was not in a good mood. Thankfully, my bag came to CAE Monday night, so my roommates and I went to go get it.

Otherwise, this week hasn't been too bad. I am starting to get overwhelmed with the amount of work I have and their difficulty. I just made my schedule of all the assignments of the whole semester, and it's super long. I am extremely happy to be back and see my friends, though!
