This week we are exploring the MAKESHOP as a laboratory, and looking closely at various objects and materials to discover their properties. We've been identifying things like metal, plastic, and organic matter using magnifying glasses, and then finding places and structures around us that use these things in their making. It's color week in the MAKESHOP! Feast your eyes on these beautifully dyed strips of wool roving that we recently colored using simple Kool-Aid. Just mix with hot water and let the wool soak. While we love experimenting with unique materials and processes, sometimes keeping it simple is just as fun.
