you gotta be able to say "die"

you gotta be able to say "suicide"

you gotta be able to talk about "sex"

they're uncomfortable topics, YEAH for SURE

because LIFE is uncomfortable. Death and suicide and sex and pain are straight up going to happen. not having words for the way it discomforts you doesn't make it more comfortable, it just makes you less able to reach out about it.

even more vital, you gotta be able to say words like "rape", "abuse", "queer" or "racist". cause we fought fucking hard to name those experiences. to identify "rape" as distinct from "sex" and "racism" as distinct from "acceptable behaviour" and "queer" as distinct from "invert"

like the function of communication is not to minimise immediate discomfort. we gotta be able to talk about stuff that's hard or sucks or causes difficult conversations.

The Bloodrager Class

The bloodrager is a class that combines a barbarian-lite rage and sorcerous magic into a dynamic class with many options to pick from. It’s a d10 class offers the same martial prowess as a paladin, but with many diverse options.

Inspired by the Pathfinder class, the bloodrager takes inspiration from the best ideas and improves upon those that fall short, reimagining them for D&D 5e. Each of the 23 bloodlines offers unique features and elemental attunement (which grants you damage resistance and extra damage).

Play as the aberration bloodline that grants you warped limbs and psychic abilities, the demonic bloodline that allows you to take on features of various demon lords, the phoenix bloodline gives you powers of rebirth and fire, and there are so many more options.

And hey, it’s probably worth it for the 37 new spells alone! The spells range from unique creations to converted spells from older editions. Belch a horrible belch with Nauseating Breath, turn into lightning and zap through creatures with Lightning Leap, or create a watery clone of yourself with Watery Double.

The feats and background are heavily inspired by the bloodrager’s style as well. A new background comes in the form of the Escaped Experiment, a new and horrific way to explain how a character was infused with the blood of whatever being they draw their power from. The feats encourage you to get stuck in with the action. Arcane Disruption allows you to make extra opportunity attacks against creatures casting spells, Magical Discharge allows you to surge with a spell after performing certain actions, and Magic Eater allows you to send your spell slots to regain hit points.
