[Whoa, okay. The growl makes him a little wary, the fangs even more so. Pushing the usurper king around probably wasn't the best idea. Link takes a step back, holding his hands up.
...Eh, he was carrying a red potion. It'd be fine. Who knew when the next opportunity would come along?! A smirk graces the hero's lips as he lowers his hands.]
Whooooa. Simmer down, there. Would a scratch behind the ears make you feel better? Or maybe you're hungry? There's no need to be so cranky. Just figure out whatever it is that you're craving and go get it. It's not that hard.

-Then there was the mother fucker himself. A growl belowed from the beast as the hero taunted him, showing his fangs. It was obvious the King was having as much fun with this spell as Link was.-
(‘I DIDN’T ASK FOR YOUR SYMPATHY, YOU LITTLE ANNOYANCE! Also stop making fun of my misfortune or you will incur my wrath!’)

[Aaaaand lo and behold, here comes a certain unbearable small-town hero!]
Still a doggie, huh? [Snicker.] You know, I'd saaaay I feel sorry for you, as I can sympathize, but the fact that you've been trying to kill me lately kind of diminishes the sympathy. The whole taking over and turning Hyrule into Twilight doesn't help much, either.

-Zant merely looked around to see if that unbearable small town hero and trouble making imp was lurking about. He certain didn’t want to run into those two right now.-

[The Ordonian blinks, a little taken aback at the squirrel's (?!) comment. He then looks down at his tunic, hand going to his hat subconsicously. Were they really that outlandish...? He'd gotten a few comments from people in Castle Town... Oh, gee. Now he's starting to feel self-conscious. Why couldn't he save the country in his regular clothes from home?]
Not that I know of...? Er, they're supposed to represent the destined hero chosen by the gods, or something like that. That's what the light spirit Ordona told me, anyways... And I'm wearing them, so I suppose that's me. I-I didn't go out and pick these up on my own, though, if that's what you were wondering.
What's your name, by the way? I'm Link.

"…A human?"
Ray wasn’t entirely used to humans. It didn’t really matter though. It didn’t stop him from smirking.
"What’s with the getup? Did I miss some kind of festival?"

Pffffff--- Hahahahahahahaha--! Oh, goddesses, if only Midna could see this--!
[He doubles over, giggling until he feels his sides are about to split.]
Not very nice, is it, Zant? Being turned into an animal without warning?
[He takes a moment to actually look at the false king now, eyes curious. Enemy or not, animals are the hero's weakness.]
...What even are you, anyways? You look like some sort of dog, but... Not. Do they exist in the Twilight Realm?

-Zant glared at the Hylian deeply.-
(‘What are you laughing at, you cur?’)

greaterlight has crossed your path!
[How Link managed to sneak around the countless patrolling monsters stalking the castle grounds without Midna's help was beyond him-- The hero wasn't exaaaaaactly known for his stealth. How he'd managed to find his way to the sewers Midna had guided him through while he struggled to get used to his wolf form again was even more of a mystery. The biggest mystery of all was how he'd been able to climb the tower and navigate the castle roofs undetected. Maybe Zant's goons just weren't that bright.
Whatever the cause, Link had finally arrived just outside the princess' chambers. He debates for a moment or two on knocking, only to decide against it. As dumb as the beasts were, they'd surely respond to a sound as loud as that in the empty castle.
As quietly and quickly as he can, Link slips into the room.]
Zelda...! Er-- Princess Zelda.
[He drops to one knee and bows his head.]
I'm-- I'm sorry to just show up like this without notice. But I just had to make sure you were okay. I-I'm, uh, I'm Link.
...Oh! F-From Ordon Village. [What a great job he was doing of making a good impression of his hometown! Link feels his face flush slightly.] We've soooort of met before, only I couldn't exactly talk at the time... I was the wolf with Midna.
You are safe up here, aren't you...? They're not... You know... Mistreating you...? I-I thought you might like some company, your highness. It can't be very nice, being locked up all by yourself.

[More of those animal things, huh? Link's seen enough of them to know they're not hostile... And quite sentient. He won't treat these two as lost pets as he did the others.]
Hello!

Ah!
Hello, Zelda! I-- I mean--! Your highness. I, uh. Forgive me.
[The hero gives a bow, gulping. Wow, what a mistake. Who acts so informal towards the royal family?! No one, that's who. He chances a look back up at the lady, giving her an apologetic smile.]
You're looking well.

I'll pout at you if I want to pout at you! Sheesh, the least you could do is say "Oh, Link, I'll be off for a while, don't worry, I'll be back soon safe and sound..." so, you know, I don't worry?! We're not gonna be able to find all this stuff we need to find with you running all over Hyrule all of a sudden.
[Just as quickly as it came, his irritation ebbs away. She was safe. That's more important right now.]
...I'm glad you're safe.

Oh, don’t pout at me! I’m fine on my own, you know, I don’t need you to protect me!
[He was…odd. That was the first thing that came to her mind about Link. He may be something of prophecy, but that doesn’t mean he has to act like something of prophecy. Still she couldn’t help but like Link, he was too kind for his own good, but had the soul of a saint…
Not to mention, he deciding to take time to help her out, and was a pretty good protection from Zant…]

Amy? What a lovely name.
[Something seemed wrong with this little girl. Concern immediately fills Link's eyes as he gazes down at her. It was in his nature to want to protect children, make them smile...]
...Are you lost, Miss Amy? The guards in town haven't been giving you a hard time, have they?
[No imps jumping out at you or anything? Oh goodness, he hopes not. Or else Midna's going to get a really stern talking to later.]

-Link? Did she already talk to this guy once already? Maybe … he is a different one from the one before. It would only make since he would have remembered her by now. Her mind was still fuzzy from the earlier events, so her voice was shy.-
… My name is Amy.

midnightlament has crossed your path
Midna! There you are!
[The hero huffs, folding his arms with an honest to goodness pout.]
You can't just run off on me like that without at least saying something!
[The imp had been nothing but trouble on their trouble so far, pulling pranks and taunting him and calling him dog names of all things... But she'd also been a rather big help. He wouldn't have known what to do without her-- He'd probably still be a wolf, trapped in the castle. And having a guide on this adventure is something Link's found he's liked.
On top of that... Zant seems to be after her. It was dangerous for Midna to run off on her own like that! He... Didn't want her getting hurt.]

Ah... Hello! It's a nice day out today, isn't it?
[The hero gives a grin.]

bluedudewithatude has crossed your path!
[Aaaah, a walk in Castle Town would be great right about now, Link's decided. Nothing like seeing smiling faces to motivate a guy! (He was running low on arrows, anyways. Better go see that Goron at some point.) ...And figure out where Midna's run off to this time and pray to the goddesses above she's not getting into trouble.
Striding in through the east gate, the young ranch hand notices a... Rather big commotion in the main hub of the town. Uh oh. His easy sloping becomes a bit of a run -- what if there were monsters attacking?! Oh, please let it just be Midna playing a prank... -- as he hurries to the fountain to find...
The guards surrounding some sopping wet blue... thing... stuck in the fountain and looking utterly terrified even though the thing was outnumbered at least twenty to one, and they were armed. Onlookers were crowding around in horror, some screaming for the guards to get rid of the thing. Others pleading for it to be left alone. It looked... Sort of like an animal, Link decides. Sort of like a hedgehog. And definitely not very dangerous.
And he makes his mind up in that instant. He'd help the little animal... thing... monster? And send it on its way so the guards would stop having a heart attack. Yes, that'd be the best thing to do. It's not like the green-garbed hero could say no to an innocent creature, anyways.]
Don't worry about it, sirs--! [The guards turn to face him. He recognizes them as the ones who'd bailed on Ilia, and his blood boils just a bit--! Though he keeps his friendly smile on as he clambers into the fountain.] I'll take care of this.
[After a few moments, the thing is freed and Link is crouching at its level, keeping his stance light and nonthreatening. He didn't want to scare it, after all.]
Hello, there, little guy... Are you lost?

Zant.
[The young hero draws his sword, bracing himself for a fight. He'd love to take a shot at the false king right about now. After all, it'd been his fault that lady from the General Store in Kakariko had--! The children were so scared, so far away from home! Princess Zelda was a prisoner in her own castle, and...! So many things wrong in his beautiful kingdom, brought on by this invader.
A cocky grin graces Link's lips. Midna would be proud, he was usually so serious... She must be rubbing off on him-- Where was she, anyway? Normally she'd be lurking in his shadow right about now, but... No no, don't worry about it. Task at hand, task at hand.]
Nothing is perfection-- Especially not this little illusion of yours. If it were really perfect, then why would the twilight be so easy to dispel, huh? You'd think that it would take something far more difficult than completing a little insect hunt to get rid of it. Yet here we are.
[The grin fades, replaced by a glare.]
What are you doing here?
makinggrayfromblackandwhite and midnightlament have come to bow down.
