I have never read homestuck.

however, it is also not an accident. the way I’d set up the color options on all the other tabs meant that this one had to be a twelve-step gradient; I additionally wanted each option to be easily distinguishable from the ones next to it in the picker, which ruled out basically all regular gradients. I considered using a rainbow but was concerned that there was no way to set up a twelve-step rainbow that wouldn't look like a homestuck thing. then a friend said “I think you should just embrace it and colorpick the homestuck blood colors exactly, it would be funny,” and I did have to admit that that would be funny, and we see the result before us today.

Hi there! I found your picrew - it's so wonderful, and the options are amazing for things out of the ordinary! I designed an NPC for my homebrew spelljammer dnd campaign based on an avatar I made in it and was wondering if you'd be okay with me posting the art of the character here on tumblr and on my Twitter? Not sure how crediting works for characters made based on picrews. i just found your picrew and i'm obsessed!!! i was wondering if any of the clothing/accesory items were based on any real cultures? i just wanted to make sure so if they are, that i make characters who properly reflect that <3

some aesthetic inspiration was drawn from Chinese fashion for the feathered hairpins, and the jewels on the headscarves look kinda like Indian bridal jewelry, but I didn't take anything more directly than that. (This also goes for the makeup and face markings-- I might have created something that some culture somewhere has also used, but did not deliberately use makeup styles from any real-world cultural practice.)

I am not going to add more body types, because they require redrawing a bunch of things all over again to fit them and while I’m glad I have more than one I really don’t want to add a fourth. Sorry, I know the range isn’t as wide as it could be!

The intent was that the soft body type-- that's the third one-- is for plus-sized people; it's sort of hard to get at "is this a depiction of a fat person" when you're only looking at the shoulders and above, but I'm very solidly plus-sized and that's basically what I look like.
