I'm contemplating ending submissions on tumblr.
I rarely use the site outside of occasional posts, and the features offered for posting haven't been as useful as I had anticipated. The site is not at fault for that, mind.

Been going through things, and struggled to get anything drawn at the time. Eventually I tried drawing Bailey again, and it eventually added enough details to be a sort-of reference. As usual, more effort was put into this than I suspect it needed.
Tumblr media
I could never come up with a "proper" monicker for what sort of Louie he is, so he remains "Bailey."

An Awkward Encounter
It's February 6, both Raichu Day and Mewtwo's Birthday. For whatever reason I decided to do something a little different this year. I took some characters of mine and changed them to make this little scene.
Tumblr media
We have Vale as a Raichu, a little distressed about being the one summoned to fight a Mewtwo. But the aforementioned Mewtwo is Copper, who's realizing he's changed and isn't really sure what to do or think, with anxiety starting to set in. And the Pokémon Trainer? A familiar old face with a very different-styled body than usual.
It was interesting drawing these three in different bodies. But thankfully they only have to worry about this happening for one day.

Here's Hazy, who's also been "Pokéfied." She makes a half-decent Scorbunny plush.

Quincy's Difficult Pupil
Tumblr media
Half of an art trade with @spcrossing.
Quincy seems to have been tasked with teaching Bits the Rabbit some math. Unfortunately, Bits isn't known to be much of an academic, but he answered the math problem the best he knew how. He seems quite proud that he could solve the problem, but Quincy doesn't seem very amused.
Perhaps trigonometry is too high a bar for Bits to clear...

I wanted to try making a skin/outfit for Anubis in Palworld. Considering it's one of the most popular Pals I was surprised it hadn't received any equippable outfits yet.
This was the result.

Some Pictures from Copper
Hello. My name is Copper, and I wanted to show some sketches I recently made.
This usually isn't the type of thing I draw... I usually prefer to stick to the characters I made up for my story. But...something possessed me to draw these little scenes of the friends I've met over the recent years. They're not great drawings, I know, but I just seemed to want to do this.
Tumblr media
This first one features Lead and Broom. It seems Broom came all the way from Keshly'm to show off a game project his group was working on, and Lead seemed interested in trying it out with him. Seems like the kind of thing he might be interested in.
It might be a short play session though; that little power supply Broom uses to run those electronics only lasts about an hour before it has to be recharged.
Tumblr media
This one has Husker from Byra offering Dravite one of his homegrown apples. Husker's managed to make quite a name for himself with the large fruits he grows; his grapes are apple-sized and his apples are watermelon-sized.
Like Broom, I met Husker when I got abducted by aliens. After I chased the aliens off their ship he keeps calling me a hero. I kinda wish he didn't do that...
Tumblr media
So this one...Mica is a Teijroid that can apparently be separated into pieces. The idea came up to have Beryl, our self-proclaimed “puzzle master,” try to put Mica back together using nothing but a picture reference. And Beryl doesn't want any hints on how to do it, so she taped Mica's mouth shut.
I really hope this doesn't give Beryl any ideas. I'm not sure Mica would be too happy to go through this for real.
Tumblr media
This one features another Teijroid friend, Topaz. He resides on a farm owned by a bunch of Linkha, and here he's trying to introduce my Linkha friend Tea to them. I've known Tea to be a bit shy, so this could be a little struggle.
Thinking about it, considering that shyness, it's kinda crazy Tea is so willing to hang out with me. But I guess I kinda have something similar going on, so maybe it's a “relatable” factor.
Tumblr media
This last one features someone I met pretty recently, Pezzo. He's one of the few Teijru that owns a boat, and he's offering a ride to Graphite. Most Khejians know Graphite is VERY strong, but all his muscle means his body's too dense to float on water, so he's clinging to a life ring.
I'm familiar with Graphite after going on a few missions...it might be a bit presumptuous to call him a friend as well. In fact, I don't know if he'd like this drawing considering he looks kinda scared here...I probably should've reconsidered this one...
Looking back...I didn't really have very many friends growing up. To think I've managed to meet so many folks from all over who's willing to put up with me...my flaws, my typical silence, everything...it's still mind-blowing. And humbling. I rarely say much, but...I'm thankful I met them all. Sometimes it's hard to keep going, but they support me whenever they can. I doubt I could do it alone.
Maybe...that's why I did these. As thanks.
I hope they like these.

Chance the Leppicorn
Tumblr media
This Leppicorn actually originated from a cloning experiment at an unspecified, secretive scientific facility. Modified genes affected his nature, making him obedient and trusting, with the intent of making a more tame Leppicorn. However, it left his body with some flaws, making his antlers very brittle and his hair unable to grow the proper way. His psychic abilities have been unable to fully develop, with telepathy as his sole skill.
There were numerous attempts by the scientists to fix his unusual physical ailments, which included experimental medical treatments and painful procedures. Chance remained patient despite some of the agonizing abuse he went through. But eventually the scientists decided he was incapable of being treated, and ultimately deemed him a failure. They began a new cloning experiment hoping for more desirable results; meanwhile Chance was released into the Esper Woods, with no knowledge of the area or means of survival, though the scientists assured him that he would be fine...
Chance would happen upon some other Leppicorn who found him bizarre and pathetic, but he hoped they would at least teach him about how to survive the area. He would eventually hear many stories of the beasts in the Esper Woods, and the scary stories only made him more dependant on his new-found friends, who weren't particularly thrilled with his company to begin with. Regardless, Chance attempts to keep an optimistic view, even if he often comes off as ignorant and incapable.

The PAL GUN
(Transcript of a Palworld weapon concept)
Preface
As of recently, the way that your Pals are summoned had been changed. While originally the Pal Sphere is aimed and thrown into an area to make the Pal appear, the newer method instead summons the Pal next to the tamer. More than likely this is meant to be a workaround summoning method due to a legal dispute with Pokemon, and it's currently unknown if this will be the default from this point forward.
Regardless, there are many people that dislike the alternative, as tossing the Pal Sphere helped the Pal focus attention on tasks or foes once it has been summoned. It's difficult to direct the Pal after immediate summoning, and having them appear a distance away from you can help with certain attack strategies which are currently not possible with the newer summoning method. I have thought about the situation, attempting to make an alternative method to summon Pals that would address some of the concerns.
While I'm no legal expert on such things, I wanted to at least offer some idea that could be a little more distinct...and perhaps a little more impactful.
The PAL GUN Aggressive Summoning Weapon
Crafted as a weapon, the Pal Gun basically takes the long-distance summoning of Pals and amps it up slightly. Selecting your desired Pal as usual, you aim the Pal Gun at a living target within its firing range, and if the reticle lights up, you fire the Pal Sphere at the target with great speed. The target will be stunned/ragdoll upon the impact, and the Pal you chose will appear near the target to further engage in battle. The target will be focused on the newly-summoned Pal, allowing you to make your next move separate from the confrontation.
The Pal Gun will function this way if: A. You currently have no Pal summoned B. The Pal you currently have selected is not the one you already have summoned (firing the Pal Gun will make your currently-summoned Pal disappear, so be very careful about that)
Aspects of the Pal Gun have some similarities to the Grapple Gun; it only functions as intended if it is fired at applicable living targets (humans and Pals), and has a recharge timer so the gun can't be fully abused, though upgrades could be possible that could shorten this recharge timer or increase the firing range, or both.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Details to Consider
The Pal Gun is intended primarily to be an alternative summoning method, being more aggressive and covering greater distances than the current default. But it may be possible to give it an alternative usage as a "ping" tool for your Pal. If your Pal is selected and summoned, the Pal Gun could possibly be used on targets from a distance, and "firing" at them will instruct the Pal to approach them and do whatever they need to. As a possible extension, the Pal Gun could recognize certain resources as targets (wood, stone, etc.) and direct the current Pal to cut or mine, etc.
The impact of the Pal Gun is mainly meant to stun on contact, with possible damage being a lower priority. (Admittedly part of the idea stems from certain tag-team fighting games, where your partner would enter the fray by dive-kicking into the opponent.) If damage is decided to be a more major factor, things to consider when deciding how much damage it would inflict would be either the type/size of Pal being fired or their current level, among other things.
One other thought would involve what could happen if aiming and firing the Pal Gun at your current Pal. For example, if you highlight a different Pal and fire at your current summoned one, it could just swap their places at that very spot. If your current Pal is the highlighted one, it may just call them back, or it could be a way to issue orders or even choices of attack to them.
Conclusion
The Pal Gun was primarily designed to address a new situation introduced in newer developments of Palworld's gameplay. With this alternative summoning method, it can allow certain abilities lost before to be possible once again, while offering a few new twists that can still make the tool useful and distinct. And with some potential secondary uses, it could even be considered a handy item to have even if the initial summoning method is brought back into the game.

The Esper Woods - Dioso
Tumblr media
The Dioso is a large bear that often claims a comfortable forest clearing as its territory. It's typically 7 to 8 feet tall when standing and weights approximately 700 lbs. It is the largest known Esper Beast in the Woods and the most powerful user of Psychic Force.
The Dioso typically appear lethargic, either napping or eating while resting against a rock or tree, often with a pile of food or fruit nearby. All of that food, however, often comes from the creatures that the Dioso controls with Psychic Force. The typical victims of this mind control are multiple Beeby colonies; not only are they direct and efficient when working, but their stingers and wax-building abilities offer sufficient protection against threats and/or intruders. The mind control is so strong that when it ends, the Beebies have no idea of what they did while they were controlled.
Intruders of a Dioso's territory often suffer miserable fates. Some suffer the wrath of the mind-controlled Beebies, either getting stung to death or captured and immobilized for the Dioso to torture for a long time for the sake of entertainment. But some aggravate to the point where the Dioso itself will attack -- a swipe of one of its arms can easily down a tree, but its Psychic Force alone can immobilize and crush its victims rather quickly. Even the formidable Vylupe can't endure the Dioso's strength -- physical or mental -- and their tough bodies seem impossible to harm in a significant way. And there are very few sights in the Esper Woods more terrifying than a Dioso flying towards you with full force and ferocity.
Despite their incredible power and strength, the Dioso is a rare sight in the Esper Woods, often with fewer than five different instances ever seen at any point. It's unknown if they quarrel with one another often enough over territory to reach this paltry number, whether they have a lack of desire to procreate, or if something or someone is actively hunting down other Diosos…though anything that can easily fell one of these beasts would have to be insanely strong or powerful.

Here's an artwork featuring Ketsui and a random Syr'l from the Last Soldier universe. Seems the Syr'l is trying out a familiar style.
Admittedly I initially started with the idea of "what if Ketsui was a Syr'l," but I wasn't confident it was going to turn out particularly well, so I ended up drawing Ketsui proper. That said, I didn't want to completely ditch the thought, which resulted in the image you see here.

Seamus Sparkeye
Following from the previous image and also inspired by @hyenafu's webcomic Slightly Damned, here's another Jakkai from Nirveus.
Tumblr media
This is Seamus Sparkeye, the leader of a team of hunters. He was the one who raised the Nirvenese Mountain Dog that Nameless now looks after. He's known to be quite spirited when it comes to hunting. He utilizes many weapons in his line of work, such as the bow and arrow, the axe, the spear, and can even use a rope javelin for those opportune moments when he sees a fish in the river. In fact, he's very good at throwing things like knives and hatchets -- and you can't beat him in a game of darts. But his go-to weapons are his pair of hunting knives, which are always on hand.
Unsurprisingly, he's been hunting for many years. He's good at finding his prey, and he can skillfully strike them down undetected. The climbing tailpin he has attacked to his tail has often been used to provide a good high vantage point for striking unsuspecting critters. He'll jab the pin into a tree or cliffside and hang upside-down waiting for his quarry to get in range before making his move. It's certainly a neat tactic for archery, and if things don't go well he's at least as so high a spot that his prey can't chase after him.
But he really likes to take risks. He may opt to fall from the high distance and strike his prey in-person. It's usually in the interest of satisfying his hunger for action, a good dose of adrenaline to keep him feeling young and spry. Of course, he's gotten many scars from such reckless behavior, but it's never deterred him from jumping back into the fray.
Oh, and maybe don't try to pick a fight with him. He's taken out wolves and bears without fear, so he's certainly not afraid to get a fellow Jakkai's nose bloody.
BONUS:
Tumblr media
Seamus Sparkeye, shirtless.
Initially used to set up the framework for his coat, it was also a good way show off some more of his scars. They don't bother him so much, as they provide a clear reminder: even with some of the poor choices he made while hunting those wild creatures, he was the one that survived.

Nameless and Oi
So recently I felt like making a Jakkai, a race from the webcomic Slightly Damned, created by @hyenafu. I looked up info and mulled over what I'd want to make, and this was the result.
Tumblr media
This Jakkai makes his home in Nirveus. If you ask anyone there, there's little to nothing about him that seems to stand out. Nothing in regards to his stature, his markings, or his personality. What's more, his egg was not among the group when he was supposed to hatch, and no one seems to know his origins. But even when he was old enough to make the choice, even he couldn't make up his mind what to call himself. Thus, he's since been called Nameless.
His indecisiveness is a common issue. He never knew what he wanted to be when growing up, and never had any sort of strong interests or hopes. He also seems to lack a strong personality, acting very plain. But considering his existence so far, it's no surprise his outlook is somewhat bleak. He's aware of what little he has going for him, and believe his life is more or less inconsequential. As a result, he just waits to see what will happen next.
Nameless was eventually confronted by the leader of a hunting team, one Seamus Sparkeye, who knew of him and decided to give him a purpose. Nameless was given the job of looking after the team's mount, a large female Nirvenese Mountain Dog. He would be responsible for feeding and caring for the dog, and eventually even training and driving her for going on hunts. Ironically, the dog also had no name. But Nameless noticed Seamus and the team often called for the dog by shouting "OI!", so eventually he decided Oi would be her name.
And so, we have a picture of Nameless and Oi in the middle of a clearing in the woods. Odds are Nameless is pondering where or if he fits into the world with how little he truly matters. Meanwhile, Oi is keeping a watchful eye to make sure no one does any harm to her caring new friend.

Hazy Reference Sheet

I managed to make a reference sheet for Vale! It should cover most of the basics of his design, and provide just a little information about him.
Ashamed to say this took more time and effort than it probably should have.

Werewolf Iris Chymara (2024)
With Halloween getting closer, I felt it would only be proper to present a follow-up of my previous image -- Iris Chymara in her proper Werewolf form.
Tumblr media
She is certainly more intimidating in this state, with greatly boosted strength and speed. Iris has managed enough self-control to typically change to this form at will, though the nature of the form makes her easier to anger and harder to calm down.
When the moon is full, the transformation is involuntary, so Iris has to struggle with keeping her temper and feral tendencies in check during that time. But the form is most often achieved through raw anger, and as a Werewolf this rage can be dangerous; Iris can lose control of herself, and she may begin to attack anyone she sees in a blind rage! And when she changes back, she may not even remember what happened during that time.
Needless to say, it's one frequent reason why Iris can't seem to keep a good romantic relationship. But when it comes to wrangling Creations, she's tough to take down.
