“M.K.  Club” by Neal
There is a group of students in POWER that wants to test their might, so they have answered the calling of Mortal Kombat. The "M.K. Klub" is what they call themselves, and they are trying to become an official club at Central Cabarrus High School.
They have been spotted in different areas of the school building during POWER. In the beginning of the school year they were playing in the hallway opposite to the library. Since then, the club has taken over a small corner of the hallway leading to the STEM wing of the school. Recently, they have also been going to trailer MU6 on Wednesday for a club meeting.
The MK Klub has gathered quite a few members in a short amount of time. Neal Desai, their leader provides his own PS3 controllers that connect to his iPad to play the game. There are twelve other members which include Andrew, Jose, Joey, Michael, Ryan, Mason, Perrin, Chase, Hussain, Josiah, Alex, and Jacob. Now the club just needs to get a teacher to sponsor them, and they will become recognized by the school.
The MK Klub follows a strict schedule during POWER. During POWER A, the club goes through title matches, which decide their rankings based on best out of three 1 vs. 1 games. The challenger then fights the person ranked above them. If they can beat the person, they move on to challenge the next person until they lose. When POWER B starts, they start on their second ranking system, which is the same as first, but they randomly select their characters. This is done so they are forced to use different characters that members normally wouldn't use.
The club has been has been asked a lot of questions by other students such as how do they get the controllers to connect to the iPad? However, the technology used to connect controllers in this way is a closely guarded secret.   The second question they receive is how can someone sign up for the club? First, people have to have some knowledge of Mortal Kombat 4, like combos for characters and fatalities. Also, members need to be able to show up at the club at least every other day, or else their rank will be dropped to last place.
In conclusion, the MK Klub has potential to be a good club. They already have the equipment, quite a few members, a meeting place, and a ranking system. Sure, they need to finalize a couple of ideas, but they should be on their way to being an official club next school year.
