Still riding the chill vibe of yesterday and I wanted to share about the tea that was drunk while I drew the mandala... a Japanese oolong is such a rare find that it most definitely deserves a mention 😁🍵 . @curious.i.tea’s Paysage Bucolique is a Japanese Oolong from Kyūshū. Dry, the leaves smell divine and in the cup, this is a surprising tea that starts off with sweet notes of porridge and cinnamon, and then gets greener and more flowery with each brew! 🍵 . I really recommend this elegant tea! 🌱🍵🌸 . #FPtober 29 Cinnamon Mandala 🤎🧡 . After a few hectic days, plus the US keeping us at the edge of our seats, the Cinnamon Mandala prompt was perfect. 👌 . The super smooth, juicy and very broad nib on my @StipulaPens Brunelleschi Terra di Siena inked with @kwz.ink Newky Brown ink were ideal for this mindfulness exercise. 🖋🤎 . Other than the nib, I really love the celluloid of this pen. ✒️💖So I have to thank @Eli.Weisz who recently posted about another pen he has in this same material because he mentioned that it it a Tibaldi Rosso é Verde celluloid. 🤓 I’ve been a fan of this pen since it came out and it’s one of my favorites since I found it at @bertramsinkwell in 2017. #FPtober Teal Eye 👁 . In the past week, due to the sanitary crisis, France is now in a new lockdown. To ensure that we could stay safely at home for months, we had to temporarily move... 🏡 So I do not have access to my full ink collection. #FPtober Yellow Cure . When the prompt list came about, this was one of the days I was most excited about. I wanted to draw small vintage bottles, big Rakia bottles, honeycombs, and so much more... but it ended up being the craziest week ever and time was sparse. ⏳💭🥃 . #FPtober 24 Sapphire Wings. . I drew this last week, but didn’t have a chance to take the picture and post it... 😕 . Sapphire wings always remind me of the Blue Morpho butterfly I saw one night while visiting La Gran Sabana in Venezuela. It was the most magnificent butterfly I ever saw and none of the other Morphos I have seen at butterfly gardens ever impressed me as much. Perhaps it was magical because it was wild and the first I ever saw. 🦋 . It is an honor today to share a mini pen and a mini doodle sheet sent to be by @mad_mercantile Myk. 😊 . Myk inspired me even before I met him at the 2018 @dcpenshow. I followed his posts on Facebook and loved how he showcased each vintage flex nib by doodling with red, blue and green ink. Each doodle page was to me as pretty as the gorgeous pens he sells. 🤩Often enough, by the time I saw it, the pen was sold and my wallet was relieved! 😅 . So when I met him in DC, it felt like meeting a hero and realizing that he was also one of the kindest, warmest and most knowledgeable members of our lovely pen community. Plus he’s a night owl like me! 🦉 . Since then, I have bought from him one of my absolute favorite bottles in my collection (a vintage Waterman sample) and now, this little beauty! I saw it and in a heartbeat knew it was perfect to join my little mini pen family (family portrait coming soon!). 😄😄😄 . This tiny Boston Pen Company n°2 nib is lovely, the ebonite still smells like rubber, it’s an eyedropper (so no sacs to worry about), and the clip says Mercantile, so it will always remind me of my friend Myk! 💟 . #FPtober Brown Road . This prompt and ink were so enjoyable I actually drew it twice! 😁 . @KWZ.ink Newkie Brown is an especially lovely treat. It’s the 2019 Newcastle Pen Show ink sent to me by the kind @howmanypens with the help of @stringsandpedals. Newkie Brown is the unofficial name of the Newcastle Brown Ale. The color is inspired by the beer and something tells me that the smoother than usual scent might just be too. As a beer lover myself, I guess I’ll just have to go to Newcastle some time and find out for myself! 😁🍺🖋🤎 . The ultra smooth and broad nib of my beloved @StipulaPens Brunelleschi Terra di Siena is perfect for the Newkie Brown ink. The caramel amber color seems to give an autumn vibe to this ink.🖋🥰🍁🍂 . #FPtober 20 Orange Broom 🎃🧹 . Who has the coolest brooms🧹 (or so they say)? Witches! 🧙🏼‍♀️As much as I now dislike how the myth of witches flying on brooms and making brews with eye of a newt came from the same idea that some women were evil ✊🏼... I loved the imagery as a kid and due to the long thick hair I had, my go-to Halloween disguise as a kid was a Witch. 🧙🏼I just wished I could use my broom to fly so I would skip around the house with it! 🧹✨😆😁 .
