“the trend of young women wanting to wear tankinis instead of bikinis is a conservatism indicator-” SHUT UP!!! some of us want to be able to actually play and run and swim without having to constantly adjust straps and check to make sure a nipple or a lip hasn’t fucking slipped out! maybe it is a conservatism indicator on some level but guess what?! maybe just maybe this particular trend is a net good for women in this liberal feminist hellscape. maybe catering to exactly what men want by being uncomfortable and self-conscious and damn near fucking NAKED over our own comfort and functionality isn’t actually an indicator of PROGRESS

Okay and I’m gonna totally sound like my mom for a second here but it’s interesting that soooooooo many women in entertainment have careers based on “embracing their sexuality” but the vast majority of men in entertainment base their careers on like … being people…. and like maybe there’s a reason most men don’t seem to find going on stage in underwear “empowering”…? Bc it’s not…?

sorry but this literally looks like a still from a domestic violence incident. im not gonna pretend a vapid pop star is a harbinger of doom but this seems like just the kind of backward propaganda that would only be passable in the culture if we had someone like trump in office!

u talk about trans women being violent as if they're not one of the most discriminated against groups. trans folks are over 4 times more likely than cisgender people to experience violent victimization, including rape and SA
So? Does experiencing violence make a group somehow “pure” or incapable of violence themselves? Women, as an oppressed group, also experience higher rates of violence, yet no one claims this makes women incapable of committing crimes, and no one silences those talking about female criminals. Actually, the media and public often focus on and sensationalize female-perpetrated crime. Marginalized or oppressed groups can and do contain individuals who commit violent acts—being a victim doesn’t erase that fact.
This trend of denying that men can exploit gender identity policies to harm women is exhausting. There are real cases of men hiding behind gender ideology to gain access to female-only spaces and commit abuses. This isn't hypothetical—it’s documented in cases around the world. Ignoring these risks doesn’t erase them; it just lets them go unchecked. Read the news, and you’ll see that this concern is grounded in real events.
My point has always been that gender ideology and the uncritical acceptance of it create loopholes that violent, misogynistic men exploit to victimize women. Are we supposed to ignore this out of "political correctness," because you can't say anything trans-related that isn’t overwhelmingly positive? How is silencing women’s real safety concerns politically correct? Women are being assaulted and even killed in spaces that are supposed to protect them—this should matter!!
To be clear, I don’t condone violence or discrimination against the trans community—no one deserves that, obviously. But acknowledging the reality of violence against women and advocating for safety in female-only spaces doesn’t contradict this. Anyone capable of basic critical thinking should recognize that I’m not attacking the trans community, nor am I labeling all trans women as “bad” simply by raising these issues.

We live in a world where millions of women and girls are raped, sexually abused and harassed every day. You wanting to be strangled and hit during sex is not revolutionary at all.

"it''ll be a statue of a woman, like a beautiful statue of a woman, and it'll be like...she helped lead the way for so many refugees or she was a nurse or she was this and she was that. She was just this pillar of society in her time. She was such an influential and powerful woman.
And they'll zoom in on her face, and they'll zoom in on the plaque, and they'll zoom out and show a full body...and it’ll show that one of her breasts has been basically rubbed off and it’s so shiny because all the tourists and, you know, whoever, has touched her breast and that's her legacy now.
[…] and you walk up to it and it’s just… through all that, through all the effort, through all the care and all the legacy she left behind, the only thing that she is now seen for is her breasts. That's gonna make me actually sick."

Once I complimented an artist on her work by saying "Oh wow girl, you're so talented!" and the response was "actually, I'm nonbinary" and I just.... yeah.....

It took nearly two years—and an abundance of misogynistic doctors and neurologists—before I was finally diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy, instead of being handed some bizarre, nonsensical mash of "psychotic symptoms" with no real explanation. For two whole years, medical professionals looked me dead in the eye and tried to convince me I was making it all up. That the problem was me “going crazy,” not that I was having seizures. Two years.
To any woman currently navigating medical misogyny: Be difficult. Be the most difficult you can be.

you literally can’t explain to these people that the average american woman is poor. the average american white woman is poor. that most women who live in “middle class” households do so in name only, they cannot afford to leave their job for days or weeks, afford childcare, travel and accommodation to go get an abortion in a different state or country. they are so blinded by their hatred of women that they cannot see reason. they are laughing at women’s suffering :)

I also wanna say that I graduated undergrad with one of my majors being “women and gender studies” in 2018 and trans people were not mentioned in any of my classes. My main, brilliant professor with phds in both women’s studies and psychology (I know it’s more specific than that but i don’t remember) had us reading about and discussing socialization, men as an oppressor class, micro & macro examples of sexism, and systemic misogyny. We talked and read and wrote about female liberation. We discussed a ton of feminist theory and various feminist authors. We focused heavily on the intersections of misogyny and race, sexuality, and class. And the focus was always women and our sex based oppression. This sexist trend of dismissing or diminishing misogyny and dancing around the reality that women are an oppressed class is new and fragile. Less than 10 years ago genuine feminist sentiments were gaining mainstream traction. We can make up the lost ground.

The thing is the girls and women who identify as non-binary while gender non conforming have the potential to be so fucking cool. I know them, they’re like me, at core they’re like all of us who refuse to give in that bullshit idea that there’s a feminine essence to womanhood. Said like that they would agree, but since gender activism disguises its rancid sexist views in postmodernist language they don’t see it for what it is. So many only allowed themselves to look more masculine and have an alternative style once they decided they were not women, as if women couldn’t look androgynous, couldn’t wear black all day, couldn’t have the finest punk jacket or simply couldn’t cut their hair short, couldn’t be make-up free, couldn’t be hairy and wear baggy shirts and jeans.
They can look just like us who are gnc and radical feminists, except they believe they’re giving a big fat middle finger to the system when the reality is they have the same idea as the system : women must be feminine, men must be masculine. Again, said like that they would disagree, but their beliefs show otherwise. I want to shake them by the shoulders and ask them “why the fuck are you calling yourself basically non-woman the minute you look different from the heteronormative patriarchal norm (gender) ?” They have the potential to be so cool, yet the minute they say that they’re not women this goes down the drain and there’s no spirit of rebellion, anti-system, anti status-quo left. It’s counter intuitive, counter productive, and most importantly it lets down all girls and women who never fitted gender norms and never will. I can look like a post-punk dude while being a masc woman, fuck your sexist expectations, fuck your little boxes, that’s gender abolition.

“Gender critical” isn’t enough. We as radical feminists are not simply that, this choice of words wasn’t accurate enough and I say this as someone who’s been using that word for nearly 10 years out of habit. I don’t just criticise gender, I know it’s a powerful tool used and justified by the patriarchy to oppress women and girls. To make boys and men the ones stepping on our necks and robbing us from our humanity. The conclusion has been clear since day one, a feminist world, where equity rules, has destroyed gender. What radical feminists really are is “gender abolitionists”.

Not "humans are inherently good" or "humans are inherently evil" but a secret third thing (humans are inherently social animals which means that we're very good at cooperating and being compassionate towards those we perceive as being part of our community but we're also very good at being tribal and violent towards those we perceive as threats to our community and everyone defines their community differently)
