Who is Quynh Tran JP?
According to Quynh's YouTube Channel, she is a Vietnamese mom living far away from her homeland, Vietnam, making videos on her second home, Japan. Quynh Tran's son, Sa, is featured on her videos and loved by the internet community. Quynh Tran is a Vietnamese woman living in Japan who has a strong passion for eating. Quynh Tran's husband is Japanese and they have 2 sons.
According to rank #10 site in Vietnam, kenh14, Quynh Tran can be described as having a "bottomless stomach," because she can eat a lot in her mukbang videos. She has a natural storytelling skill that is described as "salty," and it certainly doesn't hurt to have a cute baby in your video, her son baby Sa.
Quynh Tran is an overseas Vietnamese currently living and working in Saitama, Japan. In addition to working the duck shop with her husband, she created a YouTube channel in which she posts videos about food mukbang and daily life in Japan. The videos though started simple being recorded by phone, have attracted hundreds of millions of views. Some popular moments in Quynh Tran's channel include her eating during an earthquake and typhoon.
According to the popular Vietnamese news site, Afamily, Tran decided to create her own YouTube channel because of her passion for eating. Her channel is called "Quynh Tran JP - Life in Japan." Tran's first video was upload on June 27, 2018, and reach tens of thousands of views. After a short 1 year, Tran uploaded over 400 videos on YouTube, reached over 1.5 million subscribers, and reached over 375 million views. Quynh Tran received the YouTube Gold Play Button just 1 year after uploading videos, a reward that requires 1,000,000 subscribers on YouTube.
Popular YouTube analysis site, Socialblade, says that Tran is earning up to $350,000 monthly earnings, which translates to over $4,000,000 a year! Her channel currently grows at around 20K subscribers a day, which generates over $15,000 daily. Tran's channel is ranked 91st in all of Japan.
As of 2019, the average amount in USD brought by a person living in Vietnam is less than $2,000 a year. In Japan, it is less than $50,000 a year. Tran is doing exceptionally well and is inspiring us to write this article and perhaps create some videos in the future 😉.
Yummy Food
Tran's channel focuses on eating and cooking. The food is diverse and unique, with Japanese and Vietnamese dishes. We've noticed that her food is mostly focused on seafood as well as making an affordable meal. Some of these dishes are:
Shark cartilage noodle and fish ball
Fried rice with sour plum with shrimp sauce
Rice noodle soup with octopus, vermicelli, crab, and snail
Sashimi cup with geoduck clam
Squid, octopus, shrimp, shellfish, snails, scallops in super spicy chili sauce
Pot lobster with spicy butter sauce
Tran's way of sharing and reviewing food inspires viewers. She has extensive knowledge of culinary delicacy, stemming from her love for Vietnamese food. Her videos are also high quality, with the latest ones reaching 4K quality. Although Tran uses the Japanese flag emoji 🇯🇵 in many of her video titles, she communicates in Vietnamese, not Japanese. Comments referenced here has also been translated from Vietnamese to English.
In her most popular video with geoduck clam, Tran's fans rallied over thinking "dirty thoughts," since geoduck clams can be comparable to... we won't name it here. One popular comment is:
Minhluyen Bui Peeling off the white, like peeling condoms (dark mind roll call)
Another hilarious comment:
Minhluyen Bui Does anyone who is a boy see this miserable? 😂😂😂

Quynh Tran JP | Lobster pot with spicy butter sauce
youtube
In Tran's 3rd most popular video, she is seen eating lobster with spicy butter sauce. Tran starts off showing the food bought on the table, with 4 large, pre-cooked lobsters and a spicy chili sauce. Tran then prepares the sauce by mixing it with garlic and tossing the lobsters in once it simmers. She tosses corn in and the finished product looks like delicious cajun seafood. Tran eats the spicy lobsters with pickled daikon, cucumbers, and carrots. Baby Sa is seen hungrily eating his food in the background. Popular comments ask:
Tuyết Anh NguyenNgoc Tuyết Anh When will you put your husband on youtube?
It seems the anticipating of not seeing Tran's husband after hundreds of videos got viewers on-their-seats curious. As always, popular baby Sa catches fans attention:
Nguyễn Hạnh Sa is so good at eating and looking lovely, tiny, and neat.
Fans enjoy watching Tran and Sa eat. Tran is an inspiration to many people who are hungry and/or enjoy eating along with her. Her meals are unique and the high resolution makes our mouth water and stomach crave.
Baby Sa
Baby Sa is a favorite of netizens (internet citizens). He regularly appears in his mother's videos but is too young to eat those foods featured. He normally sits and drinks milk. Tran posted a clip of Sa's haircut one time, which made netizens laugh out loud. Below is the famous picture:
According to the popular news site, Cafebiz, Tran's life is not just about eating, she also shares long stories related to her being a mother. It is well-known that Tran has a baby boy named Sa, but she experienced storms to getting there. Tran's story goes like this...
The couple married in 2012 but still had no children 2 years later. Every time Tran goes back to Vietnam, everyone asks, when she will have a baby. Tran and her husband went to the hospital, also curious why they aren't able to produce a baby, and found out that he has weak sperm.
Tran shares a personal difficulty of her having to undergo 4 artificial inseminations to get baby Sa. She had extreme back pain at 40 weeks pregnant and endured 36 hours of cervix opening when the baby was being born. Tran had to suffer the pain of losing her baby when her first child was born, who was unable to cry and died after 3 hours of the emergency. Even when the doctor hit the baby's butt, there was no reaction. The baby couldn't breathe, even when they tried using a breathing tube and a glass cage.
Tran was so sad and cried a lot after that. Tran describes that the mental pain was much more than the physical. She remembered being in the hospital for 3 days while many other mothers hugged their babies and she didn't. Tran started producing milk but didn't have any children. She cried all day and held her child one last time for a few hours before they took him out to be buried. She describes the journey as painful and tearful, as all other couples were holding children in their arms, while her child was no longer breathing.
After 2 months, Tran and her husband continue to do artificial insemination. After Tran got pregnant, she did not quit her job and went to work for 10 hours a day because exercising made her heart strong. When baby Sa was born, the YouTuber's life seemed to have more strength, joy, and motivation. Tran and her husband burst into happiness. Baby Sa was born on Christmas day and cried a lot. This time Tran cried more than her child because she was relieved and happy.
The birth of baby Sa is meaningful to Tran, so she does not prohibit people from sharing pictures of Sa, instead, she is even more joyful that people care and love Sa. Tran posted pictures of baby Sa on the internet and many people congratulated her. Show your support by leaving her a heart-filled, civilized, and positive comment below.
According to rank #12 site in Vietnam, Baomoi, Tran reveals Sa will no longer appear on her videos. She wants to protect Sa's childhood, helping him get rid of memes with uncivilized and vulgar content. However, it does seem Tran got over this as Sa is seen appearing in her latest videos.
