So perfume has come a very long way since being more solely an exercise in alchemy and it’s creation is not wholly an intricate and mysterious art, but also an exact science.

The fragrance and fashion industries are now intrinsically linked and what you wear and the impact of such things are not simply aesthetic. Smell is perhaps the most evocative of the senses, arguably and scent, for those that catch it’s trace has that transgresive ability to instantly transport us somewhere else... Another place made of memory, indulgence and sensuality.

Many people are looking for that elusive ‘signature fragrance’, the one that blends so beautifully on their unique physicality. I’ve been one of those people, and I’m pretty sure I’ve found mine.

Now I’m not just looking to plug a brand, I was captivated by a particular aroma long before the independent, artisan perfumer who created it offered to send me samples of his entire collection with my latest order... That said, if you ever get the chance to experience the fragrances of AARON COBY, you should jump at the opportunity.

Aaron’s range of intoxicating, sexy scents kind of blew my mind. I’ve never had so many compliments on the way I smell and I feel incredibly sexy wearing my favorite. His range is long wearing and a little goes a very long way.

I think I may have found a brand for life, not that I wouldn’t consider wearing other brands, it’s just that his creations are so special for me and I really don’t mind saying so...

This one’s a keeper!

#grungeisnotdead - had this oversized, trench style 90’s leather hooded rainmac for so long. i’ve always wanted get it into a shoot and got the chance working behind the scenes with photographer @ohmytobiastobiastobias - @ruthwillow really worked the mac in a broad range of shapes and volumes. When divergent culture and commercial high end fashion collide

Grunge is dead, long live grunge. The collection that brought grunge onto the catwork as high end ready to wear and came to be regarded overwhelmingly for it's appropriation of a disenfranchised youth movement. Within a year Kurt Cobain himself was wearing a t-shirt saying "grunge is dead" and soon after Jacobs was fired from his appointed position and the house of Perry Ellis where he had been placed to bring fresh spark to the brand. Paradoxically, there can be made an argument for the guardianship of grunge culturally through it’s ongoing curation in fashion.
