i really feel sad for celebrities sometimes bc they can’t connect the dots and see their inconsistencies. the cognitive dissonance is real.

then she says she has a makeup line just to lift people up and not to “look a certain way”. and i saw some people commenting that plastic surgery and fillers are harmful and also a lie but makeup is just an expression. yeah it can be an artistic expression but the every-day-makeup and i-can’t-leave-my-house without-it makeup and the industry profiting off of this is not part of an artistic expression. it’s just capitalism and misogynistic beauty standards. and it’s also a lie.

i’m always happy when a celebrity criticizes the beauty industry but Selena is literally a part of it with Rare, which is valued U$ 2 billion.

even if she wants her costumers to accept themselves and not try to look like her or Bella Hadid is a bit odd to sell things that modify our features so we look “prettier”.
