The Life and Times of mankind_404

Howdy, I'm mankind_404, new to tumblr and looking forward to getting involved and learning from the communities here.

I'm probably most famous for my work on What Should We Do, Bert? over at Reddit. I get stopped on the street all the time and asked about it. I get phone calls and cards and letters from people I don't even know saying things like 'cease and desist' and 'legal action is being taken'. But this tumblr blog thing we got going on here will hopefully help me branch out and get to work on my own comic, The War for Peace and Joy. I'll post more about that later.

I've drawn off and on my whole life but reignited my passion for it a couple years ago after I almost whacked my thumb off in a farming accident.

It's all better now. I'm grateful for the doctor lady and nurse at the hospital for getting me all fixed up. I was a little worried on the drive to town.

I don't get much time to draw, I'm a farmer and a family man, so maybe I'll also use this space to stay in touch in between posting art. I got a gimmick going on where I'm trying to propagate as many native, edible, fruit bearing trees and shrubs out here on the prairie as possible. So it'll be fun for everyone to watch me accidentally kill a whole bunch of plants. But I will get some to accidentally live. I've done it before and it's beautiful. I mainly focus on plums, chokecherries, and apples but I got a few hazelnuts going. It's a lot of work!

A couple images from my comic The War for Peace and Joy. It'll probably never get done but I hope to get at least a few pages sketched out. Maybe do it as a blog/comic mix exclusive to tumblr here. Feels good to get stuff drawn though.
