Glassheartober 06 (AU) & 07 (Halloween)

Aaaaaand I'm done! See, I am disappointed with the amount of drawings I made for the challenge, but I'm also really happy to have done an Inktober challenge for the first time! Five outta 31 is better than zero!!

This wasn't originally going to be the halloween one but I was rewatching First Kill when I opened the canvas so that sorta just happened lol. I like it, though! I can see them in the plotlines of the ones they're representing but their personalities are more in line with the opposite, so I guess it would make an interesting AU. I do have a couple other scenes I'd like to redraw 🫢

I have to say, Red looks soooooo silly to me 😭 I just couldn't get right the look Juliette had so I just winged whatever and that came out.

Despite the challenge ending the brainrot is still not gone so I'mma keep drawing them :)

Another one done, let's go! So many different troubles, even mother nature tried to stop me from finishing this one, but here it is! :D

Really didn't like my likeness of Red on this one :( tbf I wasn't using many references...

This one's suuuper late because my PC died mid-drawing and also I got a little carried away with it... It's inspired by that moment Red takes Chloe's hand but their hands don't appear on camera at all (release the footage. I'm in the walls /j).

The flowers are forget-me-nots for Chloe, roses (clearly) for Red and wisterias in the background for both — the flowers that are behind them when they come back to the present!

Fun fact: Forget-me-nots are my favorite flowers :) that's basically the only reason I gave them to Chloe lol, but I think it suits her.

Days 1 and 2

Got way too obsessed with Glassheart and decided to do a personal Inktober list to draw them throughout the month! Forgot to post here, these are prompts 01 and 02 :)

I won't go hard on the one-drawing-per-day and might just do simple ones like these for fun. I'm still figuring the likeness out so I might have it better as I draw them more

note: I remember reading this drabble I just had a hard time finding it and I find it really cute and could totally see it happening so I just thought of writing it into a short pov hope you like it.

Red couldn't stand silence. It wasn't just a mild discomfort—it was a suffocating, gnawing dread. Silence in Wonderland was not natural. It was a land that thrived on chaos, where every second was filled with sound. The distant ticking of the White Rabbit's ever-late pocket watch, the constant murmuring of the flowers in the meadow, or the rhythmic, almost hypnotic march of the playing card soldiers.

As a child, Red had grown accustomed to this symphony of Wonderland's noise. It was what comforted her, what reassured her that everything was as it should be. Even the loudest sounds—the Mad Hatter's cackling laughter or the Queen's bellowing orders—had a strange consistency to them. They meant life was continuing as usual. Silence, however, was an omen.

The only time Wonderland had ever been quiet was when disaster was looming. Red remembered the first time it had happened, the eerie hush that fell over the kingdom the day before the great chessboard war. She had wandered the castle halls as a child, her footsteps echoing too loudly in the stillness. The card soldiers had stood at attention, not a single shuffle of their paper-thin feet or the clinking of their armour to be heard.

"What's happening?" Red had whispered to Cherise.

"Quiet means something's coming," she had replied, her usual playfulness replaced with a somber tone.

That night, the war began, and Red learned that silence was not to be trusted.

Even after she left Wonderland, the absence of sound never stopped haunting her. She carried that unease with her, like an invisible shadow, and though her life had changed in so many ways, her relationship with silence remained the same.

When she moved into Auradon with Chloe to start her school year, it should have felt like a haven. A place to start fresh. But the dorms' thick stone walls muted everything—no birds chirping, no distant chatter from townsfolk.

It was a stark contrast to the bustling mornings when students filled the halls, the lively laughter echoed in the cafeteria, the grunting and shouting of players and cheering of cheerleaders in the field and teacher's voice is heard in each classroom. But At night, the stillness pressed down on her like a heavy weight. It wrapped around her throat, tightening with every passing second until her heart raced and her mind buzzed with imagined catastrophes.

Red finally sat up from her bed as she the first rays of sunlight peeked over the horizon. Another sleepless night. Not bothering to even try to sleep, she got up and get ready for the day.

"Red you okay?" A student asked, concern for the Red head noticing the dark circles under the girl's eyes.

"Fine" Red grumbled under her breath. Not wanting to sound irritated she tried to fight the tired feeling as she tries to pay attention to class as much as her abilities but unfortunately failing miserably.

It was like this through out the day, she had already fallen asleep in two of her classes. Luckily the teacher were understanding, seeing how exhausted the girl, thinking she was still adjusting to her school life in Auradon. It must be different from what she was used to.

"You having troubles sleeping?" Another classmate, brave enough to asked.

Red could only groan in response, her lack of sleep is taking a toll on her already. When the dismissal bell rang through the school, the loud sound making her jerk up from her seat as students exited the room.

"Here" the student hand a small device in-front of the princess.

Confused, she looked at the person for further explanation as to what the clocks it was.

"It's a sound machine. It helped me fall asleep when I had troubles in my first week. Maybe it'll work with you" the student said cheerfully before leaving for her next class.

Red shot her a thank you before taking the small machine back to her room.

"It's supposed to mimic natural sounds," Red explained as she unboxed it in their shared bedroom. "Like rain or waves or... I don't know, a forest or something. Just enough noise to keep me sane."

Chloe raised an eyebrow but said nothing, watching as Red fiddled with the buttons until the soft hum of ocean waves filled the room. She was aware of her room mates predicament and tries to be supportive and helpful to make her comfortable to Auradon or the very least help the redhead get some good night sleep.

The first night, Red finally slept. Chloe, on the other hand, tossed and turned, glaring at the glowing machine as if it were a personal affront. From the sound of ocean waves, the playlist suddenly change into what they called white noise. The machine blared the sound of static hissed like an army of restless snakes, constant and suffocating. It pressed on your ears like a heavy fog, relentless and cold. Beneath it, faint crackles and whispers teased at something unseen, leaving an eerie sense of unease.

Chloe didn't know how Red could sleep to such a sound while she was about to cry in frustration.

By morning, the bluenette's patience had run thin. "Red," Cloe groaned for what probably the 6 or 7th time already, "That thing is awful. It sounds like static mixed with seagulls having an existential crisis. How do you sleep to that?"

"I don't have a choice," Red said with a shrug. "If it's not that, it's silence. And I can't . . ." She trailed off, her voice unusually small. "I just can't."

Chloe softened but still frowned. "There's gotta be another way. We'll figure something out."

The next two weeks were a trial-and-error nightmare. Earplugs for Red? Too uncomfortable. Headphones for Chloe? They kept tangling in her hair. Sleeping in separate rooms? not possible. Chloe even started singing her with a lullaby, it worked at first but the moment she stops, Red would start turning in her bed. The princess hated waking up without Red's sarcastic morning grumbles, and Red's nightmares returned in full force without any background noise to lull her to sleep.

Tensions ran high as exhaustion took its toll. Chloe snapped at Red for leaving a wet towel on the floor; Red barked back that she never refilled the kettle. Every little thing became a bigger problem and all the frustration from the lack of sleep just keeps adding up to it.

It wasn't until a random Thursday night that they stumbled upon the solution—completely by accident.

"Maybe we should take a break" Chloe suggested, lifting her head from her desk to look at her roommate who remain sprawl in her bed.

"Yeah that's probably a good idea" Red sat up and face the bluenette. "All this brain storming is exhausting"

They were curled up on the couch watching an old movie, something lighthearted and silly to distract them from their shared misery. Chloe had her laptop balanced on her knees, and Red lay beside her. At one point during the movie the redhead had unconsciously sprawled across Chloe's chest. Her head nestled against Chloe's collarbone but she paid no kind to it and continue watching. They weren't paying much attention to the movie—she kept cracking jokes about the terrible acting, and Red snorted every time.

But halfway through, Chloe noticed Red had gone quiet. You glanced down to see the princess fast asleep, her face slack and peaceful in a way you rarely saw.

"Seriously?" Chloe muttered, rolling her eyes. She were about to wake up her and tell her to sleep on her own bed but you watch the girl's sleeping figure 

But instead of waking Red, she carefully reached over to close the laptop, plunging the room into darkness.

Chloe had planned to move, but something stopped her. The soft rise and fall of Red's breathing, the way her fingers twitched slightly against her ribs—it was endearing. And then there was the strange realization that Red's head was directly over your heart.

The bluenette stayed still, listening to the steady rhythm of her own heartbeat and wondering if Red could hear it too.

By morning, the answer was clear.

"That was the best sleep I've had in weeks," Red admitted as she stretched, her hair a mess but her face unusually bright.

Chloe arched an eyebrow. "You passed out on me like a cat."

Red grinned, but there was a hint of something more—gratitude, maybe. Or relief.

The next night, Chloe offered to let Red fall asleep on her chest again. It became their new routine. She would crawl into bed first, propping up the pillows, and Red would follow, curling into her side until her ear rested over her heart. The rhythmic thrum was just enough sound to chase away the silence, while you were spared the horrors of the sound machine.

It wasn't perfect—Chloe still teased Red about her occasional snoring, and Red grumbled about her bony shoulder—but they wouldn't have it any other way.

In the quiet of the school, Chloe's heartbeat became Red's Wonderland. A constant, reassuring melody that promised safety, comfort, and love.

Red and Bridget have British accents.

Red tries to hide hers when she goes to Auradon because EVERYONE there has an American one. While everyone in Wonderland has a British one. But one day she was arguing (or fiercely debating, as she likes to put it) with Chloe and it just- accidentally slips out and shuts up, becoming insecure.

Chloe instantly becomes obsessed with it and tells her to do it again (also because it's hot and makes her knees weak) and Red refuses to. After a couple minutes of Chloe urging, she finally does and they talk for a minute with Red using her British accent, while Chloe becomes an absolute mess inside.

After that she becomes more confident and starts talking with her usual British accent, surprising almost everyone at Auradon Prep, but also not really since they probably knew enough about Wonderland to know that they all have British accents.

Chloe is an early riser whilst Red is a night owl

Because of their sleeping habits, Red usually skips/misses breakfast in favour of getting more sleep before classes (Chloe does not settle for this and starts carrying breakfast bars in her bag for Red)

Red always sits on the bleachers and sketches during Chloe’s Swords and Shields practice

Red wears Chloe's varsity jacket during Chloe's tournaments

After time travelling, they have journalling sessions together (so they can try differentiate memories from their old timeline and what they need to remember in their new timeline)

Chloe is REALLY big on physical affection, you can always find the two of them holding hands on campus

Red makes amazing tea and always brings Chloe mugs during her intense study sessions

Red is touch-starved when it comes to Chloe but touch-averse with anyone else

Everyone (and I mean EVERYONE) knew they were dating before they did

When they told their parents, Ella handed Bridget a £20 note (they were betting on when the girls would finally get together)

The inside of their lockers are decorated with Polaroid pictures of eachother

Whilst they CAN use their phones to communicate, they prefer to write letters to each other when they're apart

They'd also send eachother little trinkets with these letters!! (Ex: Red sends over pressed flowers that are native to Wonderland)

When Chloe nervously tells Chad she has a crush on Red (which will be the first time she'sshared that information with anyone), he responded with "the colour?" (Despite the fact he has in fact met Red multiple times in the past)

Chloe fell first (her attraction to Red being sparked during their time changing the past together), but Red fell harder (after she clocked that she felt truly safe with Chloe in their new timeline)

Chloe is as charming as her namesake, so she has quite a few admirers (so Red gets a bit jealous at times but that's quickly solved by stealing Chloe's clothes or PDA)

Though it should be noted that when someone else is interested in Red, Chloe's jealousy is x100 worse (she takes after her father in that aspect)

They keep their relationship fairly private (like most royal couples), but once they hit their one year anniversary, they go fully public (I'm thinking with Chloe asking Red to dance at a televised ball)

Before this, there would be multiple blogs/fan accounts about whether the two were just really close friends or dating

Wonderland would obviously be very different in their new timeline, so once their first semester at AP ends, Chloe goes to Wonderland with Red for the holidays so they can explore it together (but first Red has to reassure and pinky promise to Chloe that the Jabberwocky is a Wonderland myth and not a real creature)

Bridget is ecstatic to host Chloe at their castle, and this starts a tradition of the Charming family and Heart's family taking turns to stay at eachothers places every other holiday

Red teaches Chloe how to interpret Wonderland’s riddles (and plans to teach Chloe how to talk in riddles one day)

Chloe's first language is French, so over time, Red gains a proficiency in the language (this is all sparked because Chloe starts speaking French when she's tired)

Head canon that the sun is brighter in Auradon than it is in Wonderland and Red is already light sensitive so everyone thinks that Red is just generally pis*ed with everyone cause she’s always squinting so she looks angry (This Makes Chloe anxious cause she thinks Red is upset with her). Then there’s this incident where the sun gets so bright and Red starts tearing up cause her eyes hurt and Chloe thinks Red is crying and she panics and tries to comfort Red but then Red finally explains to her that the sun just hurts so much like “oh my rabbits, Chloe why does the sun shine here almost as bright as you” and Chloe of course is like seriously flustered and flattered by the sweetest thing that’s ever come out of Red. However Chloe is not just going to let her girlfriend suffer so that incident Red is gifted these weird shaped color tinted glasses by Chloe and Red doesn’t understand until she puts them on and then immediately hugs Chloe because the sun is “no longer attacking her”.

She never goes outside without them as she becomes seriously attached to anything Chloe gives her but overtime gains a mass collection of them because Chloe can’t help but buying Red a pair every time she sees one that she thinks Red will like. Chloe thinks this will make Red have more variability.

It does not. Red makes sure to wear all of them but clearly the first one is her favorite because it’s one of the first few gifts Chloe gave her. Red also always takes multiple of them with her whenever she leaves their dorm, because she wants to make sure Chloe knows she cherishes everything Chloe gives.

It doesn’t take a while for it to click to Chloe that Red didn’t get many gifts or really any at all during her childhood. But once Chloe figures it out she makes it her life goal to gift something to Red often to make sure her girlfriend can have nice stuff.

imagine little chloe bursting into her parents' bedroom declaring that she'll always be red's knight in shining armour, because every princess, especially a crown princess, needs a knight to protect her and ella and christopher just KNOWING that chloe is gonna stay by red's side forever and ever

so they start planning the wedding with bridget, thrilled to have the opportunity to bring their families even closer together. they're gonna be in laws! a family, just like they've always dreamed.

imagine little red telling her mum that chloe has a really pretty smile and really pretty eyes, and it makes her happy to see chloe happy, and that chloe is the bestest friend in the whole wide world and bridget has to stop herself from squealing and pinching red's adorably flushed cheeks, because her daughter was so in love already, even if it was just puppy love. that doesn't stop her from screaming gleefully into her pillow later that night tho

imagine them growing up together, attached at the hip, never straying from the other's side. imagine them going to auradon together, everyone already knowing that red and chloe, chloe and red, are a package deal. you can't get one without the other, a known fact since the duo were old enough to travel through the rabbit hole on their own

imagine chad walking in on them cuddling, watching a movie and cooing at them, snapping pictures on his phone before they notice him, yelling at him to leave them alone. alright, alright, I'll leave you lovebirds alone and red flushes in mortification and shut the fuck up chad, we're completely platonic and you know this because little miss goody-goody would definitely be rougher around the edges, growing up with red, and she'd definitely cuss up a storm at chad, but she loves him, she swears, just maybe not as much as she loves red

imagine them going through all the motions of a romantic relationship, cuddles, cheek kisses, hand holding, cute dates and all that, but insisting that it's just platonic, and that's how they've always been because they're best friends and their parents are so very done with them, just praying for them to get together, and chad has even started a betting pool for when they'll realise they love each other. he thinks it'll take them until at least their second year at auradon prep - at least, it'll take chloe that long

GlassHeart HC time

Red can’t stand silence. If the castle was quiet it always always meant something terrible was about to happen. So Red gets a sound machine. So she can sleep at night.

The problem? Chloe can’t stand the sound machine. It grates on her and prevents her from falling asleep. So after two weeks of both of them scrambling around trying to find a way for both of them to sleep well they stumble across the answer accidentally after one night watching a movie.

Chloe had the laptop on her lap and Red had her head in Chloe’s chest so she could see. Red falls asleep halfway through the movie and Chloe goes ahead and turns it off, but she doesn’t dare move the sleeping girl so Chloe just sleeps like that.

As it turns out, Chloe’s heartbeat is enough sound to reassure Red that everything is okay.

So now, they always sleep together so that Red can listen to Chloe’s heartbeat and Chloe doesn’t have to listen to the sound machine.
