Could be over analysing this but, the double hairpin from Shisui and Jinshi could very well represent Maomaos bisexuality. The double hairpin, shisui’s one represent the attraction she has towards women, and jinshi’s hairpin representing her attraction towards men.

Both pairings are sweet. I feel as if she felt romantic affection towards shisui first, and later on in the light novels finally developed those same feelings towards jinshi.

Anime only’s are missing out on how much more context the book gives us about everyone’s character, especially jinshi and MaoMao. Everyone i definitely recommend reading the light novels!

I don’t get it how people don’t see the fact that Mao Mao is an example of an unreliable narrator, she often says stuff that isn’t true to herself and people take it as if it’s gospel, PLEASE READ CLOSER. And yes I’m talking about jinmao.
