just a sketch doodle of j'kharni in his teens. as a kid and young adult he was a lot more cocky and knew believed he was better than everyone even if he meant well. he also hit his growth spurt in this age range so the few kids within the cult sorta saw him as a leader (of course that didn't feed into his aspirations and ego, not at all)

Writing is so fucking stupid. I had a scene pop into my head and now I’ve spent the last year and 100k words creating the necessary contextual plot/character depth to earn the emotion in that scene. Ridiculous. Absurd. Why.

i am a Sucker for scenarios where someone encounters their younger/other self and has the opportunity to give them the compassion and understanding they haven't received.
but I am also, and possibly even more, a Sucker for scenarios where someone encounters their younger/other self and uses it as an opportunity to externalize absolutely horrifying levels of self-loathing

fun behaviors to give dragons that aren't feline/canine based
cause as much as i love dragons purring and roaring i wish there was just more variety in how they would act
clacking their teeth together to show contentedness/happiness (budgies)
using tails as a defensive weapon in a whip like fashion (iguana)
twitching to express that they're not a threat to members of their species (hognose snake)
feeling calm when eyes are hooded/covered (birds of prey)
head bobbing as a threat display (anoles/bearded dragons)
flattening neck or sides to appear bigger (snakes/lizards)
mantling over food to protect it from hatchmates (birds of prey)
wiggling neck as a courting maneuver (budgies)
audibly grinding teeth as a warning (macaques)
maintained eye contact as a challenge (gorillas)
pounding wings against sides as a threat (gorillas)
slapping other dragons with their claws when their personal bubble is invaded (seals)
hoards used as a site to impress mates (birds of paradise)
snorting when undergoing heightened stress (horses)
making repeated loud noises with surroundings to establish territory (woodpeckers)
loud constant arguments with other dragons when roosting (bats)
building lairs that cause a domino effect of change in the land around them (beavers)
slapping their tails against the ground/water as a warning (beavers)
wiggling tail tip to attract prey (various animals)
wiggling tail tip as a warning (snakes)
plucking or scraping off scales as a sign of stress (parrots)
raising spines/frills as a response to danger and carrying on with their usual business as they believe they're protected (lionfish)
and im not saying canine and feline behaviors are wrong or bad to give a dragon (people wouldn't write dragons with those behaviors if they weren't fun in the first place!) but i feel for creatures that are mythological giant winged lizards that you can do more and get experimental with it. often the more unfamiliar behavior the more dragony the dragon feels

Fus Ro Draw!
Throwback art! I drew skyrim dragons with a pen. Then I drew the dragon shouts, and used a photocopier to adjust the size to make up the whole background. It is the battle between Alduin and Paarthurnax.

They weren’t late for the TES Gala, Darra and Teldryn were there all this time in the Sovngarde event lingering in front of the buffet.
2025 @tes-gala : Daedra and Divines.
Darra is in theme as a dragon priest embodying a mortal form of Alduin as the Atmorans would have acknowledged them. Teldryn wears the snake of Boethiah (but it can also be interpreted as the symbol of Orkey. He doesn’t really care.)
They walk in among all the well-dressed people and look like cultists. This was clearly a mistake.
Teldryn has to leave his sword at the door, but he gets to keep his knife. Darra carried in an embroidered but completely empty bag that is waterproofed inside. (Red carpet? What red carpet? The only red that matters is the free flowing red wine.)
On the real-world equivalent for the clothing:
All woven patterns are (crudely) drawn from and inspired by T’nalak weaving, plus this sick dragon obi i saw on Yahoo auctions.
Darra’s garb is inspired by sarong. Teldryn’s is a mix of deel, salwar kameez, and keffiyeh.

There is a secondary and lesser known language throughout Elsweyr consisting purely of carefully controlled purring, simply called "the Purring Language" or "Purrspeak". it can convey huge amounts of information in much shorter periods of time, making it much more efficient than spoken languages, but it has several drawbacks that keep it from becoming commonplace.
Primarily, it cannot travel far, and speakers must be in close proximity somewhere with little ambient noise so as to not be drowned out; as a result it is often used by thieves and other sneaky sorts, allowing them to communicate effectively with each other without being heard, even when those they wish to hide from are close by.
Purrspeaking doesn't allow for as much inflection as normal language, so certain elements of communication that rely on tone are completely lost.
It also requires a great deal of training, both physically and mentally, to be able to control one's purring reflex to the degree necessary to use it linguistically. Also to be able to hear it and understand it takes lots of practice, and it's exceedingly easy for novices to vastly misinterpret something someone says, if they're not careful.
Additionally, even with the necessary training, someone who is experienced and fluent in the language cannot always speak it at will, as certain hormonal, mental or physical states can disrupt one's ability to purrspeak.
In many khajiiti temples, Suthay priests and priestesses (the ones who said to be expected to play a role, presumably ceremonial, in preparing for the end of time) are trained to fluency in the Purring Language. In fact, in many temples when they go from being a novice to a full-fledged monk, they will take a vow of silence and are permitted only to Purrspeak. They are then taught, once they've mastered the language, oral histories that date back tens of thousands of years, describing landscapes and natural disasters long forgotten, before the arrivals of both Mer and Man, and allegedly even the true creation story of the Khajiit.
It is in these oral histories that reliably recount the first days of existence that the Suthay's role in bracing for the end of time becomes apparent; time is a flat circle, and the earliest days of existence directly supersede the final days of existence. By knowing and recounting their very beginning, they can know and predict their end.

Still need to make art about it but I am so enamored with the idea of Voryn and Vivec being the *real* arch enemies of the entire tribunal. They’re two sides of the main coin.
The parallels are delicious: Vivec ascending and Voryn descending while finding different but similar methods of denial, their mutual relationship with the Nerevarine, them both loving Nerevar and competing for his attention/praise while knowing he rarely goes to either of their beds, Vivec outshining Voryn in combat but not being able to hold a candle to his sorcery, their personalities being opposite both before Red Mountain and after.
Being the two most dramatic divas of the group. I love them and I want them to hatefuck

This is the end. The bitter, bitter end.
I am once again drawing Dagoth. And also Nerevar this time. Really happy with how the textures and colours turned out (I was messing with them for a few hours...).
Maybe next time I'll draw them having a good time instead of being miserable. For once <:'3
