Inhale. Muddied tennis shoes pounded upon the earth, the near-dead grass crunching under the marcher’s feet, and those that didn’t prodded against the fabric of blue jeans, creating a dreadful itch. As much as it tickled, it would not be scratched. The pace was urgent, a moment to rest unwelcome at all the expenses to slow.

Exhale. The legs craved release, the muscles ached, and the lungs offered no resolve. Each step caused a chill in the chest, a burn in the throat, and a parched mouth with each forced breath. It was hard to determine how much longer they could endure these conditions; but the need for survival outweighed the misfortune they felt. There was only stopping when the other had given up. There was only rest when the other had admitted their own defeat.

Inhale. The heart raced, beat rapid and rhythmic. Brown eyes darted in every direction as the end of the line neared, the only other option to choose a side in the fork in the road. It felt impossible to make a decision in such a short amount of time. What would give them an advantage? What would get them caught? Without hesitation, their feet turned, and their mind, slow on the uptake, followed.

Exhale. Their swerve caused their steps to ease, though minimal until the momentum built back up. The turn gave them a boost of confidence, a bold move taken as their head turned to gaze over their shoulder, eyes locking with the dreaded being she had hoped to lose. It neared them with an arm outstretched…

I’m not impressed with Atlas. I get why the way she is but honestly the trope for her personality is so aggravating to me.

Why can’t she be super sweet but every time she responds to something in excitement she gets sad afterward? Why can’t she crave friendship? Does she really have to be an ass to MC? It’s not her fault she doesn’t know anything. You can be super powerful and be prepared and hesitant with your destiny and not be entirely sour about it.

Everything is just so... mean and closed off.

There are more ways to be closed off then grumpy and rejective. And I see that all the time? I just wish things would switch up a bit.

Animal Monsters: literally made me lose a finger, constantly tries to scare me and my friends, tries to kill me and my friends, scares innocent townsfolk.
