i’ve been advocating and speaking out on other social media platforms and protesting, but i feel it’s important to say something on here too.

i feel sick to my stomach every time i see a video of families getting torn apart. there’s way too many people going about their days with the “business as usual” attitude while these horrors ensue.

what’s happening in california right now, and across the u.s., is fucking devastating and downright inhumane. people are literally being kidnapped off the streets. they’re getting detained and deported without due process—even if they do things the “right way.”

ice does not give a single fuck. they don’t care to check if someone is a citizen or not (and, by the way, not being a citizen is not a criminal offense—it’s a civil offense. same fucking thing as not filing your taxes on time or jaywalking across the street). these masked men are racially profiling people and targeting anybody who looks Hispanic / Latino without giving people a chance to show any form of identification or ask for a warrant from a judge, etc. before they’re detained.

our communities are hurting immensely.

a person should not have to live in fear in their own homes or their own communities.

no one is illegal on stolen land.

speaking up for those who cannot speak out on behalf of themselves (especially if you’re white—use your privilege!) and spreading awareness is so detrimentally important, whether it’s how to help these families, sharing resources, directing people to immigration lawyers who can help, protecting those who cannot protect themselves, protesting, or advocating for them.

if you’re in the u.s. and you’re not speaking up because this doesn’t affect you personally, you really need to check your privilege. don’t get too comfortable, because i can guarantee people notice when you’re silent. silence is complicity.

one last thing: fuck 47, fuck ice, and fuck anyone who voted for that piece of shit. i hope guilt eats you motherfuckers alive.

while the internet was throwing a fit about how much bodily autonomy women really have and how open sexuality is or isn’t feminist, a woman who was pronounced brain dead MONTHS ago after being let down HORRIFICALLY by the American health system had a one pound baby cut out of her. let me say this again: A WOMAN WITH A FAMILY TO RAISE DIED BECAUSE OF MEDICAL NEGLECT AND WAS KEPT ON LIFE SUPPORT AGAINST HER FAMILY’S WISHES SO THAT AN UNVIABLE FETUS COULD BE BORN. Women in America, especially in these total abortion ban states, do not have the right to their own bodily autonomy in life OR death.

Adriana Smith was taken off life support by her family, who now have to pay the bill to a hospital who put more value on a fetus than their daughter’s final rest. That baby boy is fighting for his life in the NICU and will grow up with innumerable health complications if he manages to survive. His brother has been stripped from his mother and watched her death be televised across the country, and the family HAD NO CHOICE! Put this anger against Congress, against the men who are actually killing women and setting us back 70 years. Again, the men in congress who are ACTIVELY pushing laws that end in the deaths of woman and our bodily autonomy will always, ALWAYS have more power over the country than a pop star. As long as these men are in power, and as long as they feel safe and fucking comfortable enough to do this to women, it won't matter if a girl is 'modest' or 'overly sexual' because at the end of the day the state has more rights to their body than themselves.

i, quite frankly, do not miss tumblr. at all. i keep in touch with a few close friends privately, most of whom i know IRL and we actually, you know, get outside and touch grass.

so i have zero problem saying this because i don't care if i get "ran off" or whatever. i'm barely on here anyway, i don't care. really, i don't.

i did not bully anyone into deleting their fic. that is a blatant fucking lie. in fact, i never planned to confront the person about it, and it is a long story that i can't be assed to type up because i don't owe anyone shit, to be quite honest. but what truly pisses me off is the fact that they are lying when i chose not to bring it up to them for the sake of protecting their feelings. i got an anon about it, read the fic, had TWO people read side by side screenshots of moments in both stories i felt were too close for comfort to see if maybe i was just overreacting, and that was supposed to be the end of it. i did not publish that anon for a reason. i did not want anyone going after this person.

i did not confront this person about the fic, they came to me and asked me if i felt they were similar. and you know what? fuck it, yes i did and i was honest about it. but i did not tell them to delete it.

THEY chose to delete it themselves.

there's more important shit in the world going on right now, and that is where my energy is going. not this stupidity. peace out.

Greta Thunberg has shared a pre-recorded video appealing for international help.

“My name is Greta Thunberg, and I am from Sweden,” Thunberg said in the video recorded on board the Madleen, before tonight’s events.

“If you see this video, we are being intercepted and kidnapped in international waters by the Israeli occupational forces, or forces that support Israel,” she said.

“I urge all my friends, family and comrades to put pressure on the Swedish government to release me and the others as soon as possible.”

Donald Trump has authorized 2,000 National Guard troops to be used against protesters, whose goal was to put a stop to ICE's kidnapping raids.

Being undocumented is not a criminal offense in the United States of America.

ICE is in Los Angeles conducting raids and arresting families and children on their way to their court dates and raiding workplaces. Trump has called the National Guard in to stop protestors and is spreading a false narrative about violence, raiding, etc. to distract from the fact that ICE is abducting children in a SANCTUARY CITY.

Do not look away, do not be silent. If you or a loved one is detained by ICE, stay silent except to ask for your lawyer. Keep your documents on you. Call legal aid foundations who are standing by.

If you are NOT in LA and want to help, you can contact rapid response networks and ask how to help or donate. Donate to ACLU, the Mexican American Legal Defense Fund (MALDEF), or the Immigrant Defense Project.
