How does culture and society influence Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics
First of all, we, in ourselves are the ones who are capable of creating society and culture in our nation. We are also the ones who maintain, modify, and keep track of everything that happens inside it because its essence is in our hands. Without the coining of the term mathematics and spreading it into a variety of other branches, we cannot identify what we have been using for so long. We will just be blurting out information without a context or label.
It is a habit to keep in mind that Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics all coexist with each other. It is not advisable to create a boundary between them.
Starting from the previous eras, the existence of mathematics brought to life a nation that was once undiscovered. The culture of us that gives us the motivation to educate ourselves is a manifestation of our complex minds and continuous curiosity.
We can assume that before, the accuracy in mathematics has not been believablw for a specific time period but now that we are in the midst of progression, we can infer that our human minds are capable of creating new ideas and theories in this field. We cannot bear to discover a multitude of formulas, inventions, and discoveries if it were not helped by mathematics.

What is the role of [insert branch of mathematics here] to culture and society?
What is the role of Algebra in shaping culture and society?
According to Merriam-Webster dictionary, Algebra is a branch of mathematics that uses numbers and letters that represent numbers. In the field of mathematics, it is important that we take note of the complexity of giving identity to numbers. In using algebra in society, especially in research, it is easier to classify or reflect the variablea when it is in alphabetical form. Regarding culture, algebra has been used in many forms. In Trigonometry, even in Physics. Einstein would not have made a formula for the theory of relativity if there were no kettdrs to represent his variables.
What is the role of Calculus in shaping culture and society?
In displaying theories or data in graphs, calculus is present. Our society would not be complete without the gathered data of important information. For example, in elections, there are graphs that show us the percentage of votes that are accummulated by each candidate in a certain province or region. Moreover, in Economics, the theories that show the relationship of demand and supply are supported by the mechanics of calculus. In terms of culture, calculus has always been present in building infrastructures and other establishments. Without this, the consistency and accuracy of forming art will not be attainable. It is true that calculus is hard to use but it is has a significant role with creating a modernized community
What is the role of Geometry in shaping culture and society?
At first, we would think of geometry as just shapes and volumes but there are more things within it. It can be applied in the programs that we watch on television which are composed of three-dimensional and/or two-dimensional animations. Furthermore, imagining things only in flat surfaces, in the society, is not enough to be ablw to create a more realistic view of the element that we want to portray. Also, culture is supported by geometry due to the fact that it has been used for many years, even the pyramids of Giza are structured with the aid of this branch of Mathenatics.
What is the role of Applied Mathematics in shaping culture and society?
Mathematics alone is not a shallow component of its own field but we all know that numbers that are only limited to papers and researches are not that helpful to our society. What we need is a branch of mathenatics that can help put the numbers and formulas outside of its realm. Applied mathematics is an avenue ti be able to diminish the boundary between mathematics and reality. The society and culture is indeed beneficial to the products of this field. This can be closely related to creating studies that nurtures the society. For example, we can create different contraptions that can help the livelihood of the communities which also nourishes the culture of that certain community by having new machineries for their source of production.
What is the role of Statistics in shaping culture and society?
Along with calculus, statistics is important in being transparent of the own data that are being gathered in the society. It is important as it reflects the need foe us to improve our nation every time that a malfunction is being reported. It is also giving us the opportunity to view the society in a way that is represented by numbers. However, we should not be just disclosed by the idea of numbers but we must also be open to the representations and meanings that it reflects. Statistics' role in culture is determining the population of a certain place and many more, but it does not end with this. There are a lot of opportunities in statistics. It serves as the basis for the quantitative research of the students.

Trivias About Mathematics
1. If you multiply 111,111,111 by itself, you will get 12,345,678,987,654,321.
2. The numbers on the opposite side of a dice add up to seven.
3. The symbol for infinity was used by the Romans to represent the number 1000.
4. The earliest evidence of a numerical recording device is a section of a fibula of a baboon, with 29 visible notches, dated to about 35000 BC, from a cave in the Lebombo mountains on the borders of Swaziland in Southern Africa.
5. 169 is equal to 132 and its reverse 961 is equal to 312.

Bianca & Math10: A Reflection
I really do not like Math. That's it. But I try so hard to like it and eventually, at a certain point in time I became fond of it and I actually missed it. Being able to solve algebraic problems is at the same time, a satisfaction and an achievement for me. Anyway, I chose Math10 for my GE subject because I am tired of Philosophical terms. I want to mix my semester with something that would balance out my capabilities. Plus, the schedule for this class is perfect for my schedule. Luckily, I was enlisted to this class even though SAIS was having problems at the time of enlisting.

About Me: Who is Bianca?
Greetings! I am Bianca from the realm of Philosophy and Humanities. The place where I came from may be a little bit far from Science and Mathematics. However, we believe that even though both of these topics differ from each other, they still interconnect.
Going back to myself, I am a big fan of science-fiction. Perhaps this is why i can cope with science using the creative magic of my field. With this, I can also look into reality and compare it with the fantasies that are indeed possible to happen (because we do not have the proof that they cannot).

bianca & math
i don’t like math. that’s it. but i am trying to appreciate it especially when i think that it will help me in the future. to be honest, i always panic when i need to solve problems--even the simplest ones. one prominent example of this “panic” scenario is during jeepney rides; when my friends all put their payments on my hand [i lterally start to panic but of course i still manage to compute all of them].

why did i choose math10?
while i was picking courses for my second semester, math10 stood out of the list. i figured, “i miss math” because i am a bachelor of arts student so i might as well pick this course

about math10
i was not really expecting it to be as hard as how they describe math inside uplb. actually, during the first meeting, it is expected for us that at the end of this course, we will appreciate math more and we will apply it to ourselves and the society.
