So they just announced the featured artist for the next season of Fortnite Festival...and it's Bruno Mars. My reaction that is...meh.

It would be nice if there was more variety in genres for these seasons. We've had one heavy rock season with Metallica. We've had one rap season with Snoop Dog. But, all the rest of the seasons have been pop music. It's just so boring.

What makes this worse is that there were a lot of rumors going around that this upcoming season was going to be Daft Punk and a lot of people were excited for that...but apparently that was all bullshit.

It's strange...for a mode that has you playing as members of a band, Epic sure doesn't seem to want to have actual bands be in the mode.

Things I hate that random teammates do in Rocket League:

During tip-off: players who are in the goalie position who immediately drive off to get boost before seeing how the tip-off goes.

Mindless ball chasers who just want to touch the ball at all times...even if that means hitting the ball down their side of the field.

When ball chasers are never ready for set up shots.

People who think hitting the ball directly into one of the side walls is a good idea. All you are doing is centering the ball.

Teammates who will ruin your shot on goal by driving up and smacking the ball away from you.

Teammates running into you because they want the ball so badly they don't care you were already on it.

That one guy who won't forfeit...even though you and the other teammate want to and the match is going horribly.

Players who refuse to play defense and will only play offense.

So I just discovered today that apparently Epic Games decided to be assholes in this past Thursday's update to Fortnite...specifically for Save The World players.

Apparently, Epic decided to make completing challenges in Endurance more annoying now. Before, you could complete or get challenge progress by just finishing the first wave. Now...you have to finish four waves. And based on what people are saying...that's about 10 minutes. (Whereas before it was only 3 minutes.) So there isn't really any reason to do Endurance anymore. You might as well just go back to doing regular missions to get certain challenges done.

This will specifically make the "complete 3 (or 5) missions" challenge more time consuming. Something that took around 12 to 17 minutes before will now take 30 to 50 minutes.

There was no reason to make this change. NO ONE in the community was asking for this. Epic just decided to be dickheads for no reason.

I do feel like one day Epic is going to make the really bad change to STW....get rid of the v-bucks for founders.

In order for me to have backpedaled...I would have had to previously stated that I am against AI in all forms...in all scenarios...in all contexts. But I didn't do that...but, for some reason (once again person who doesn't know me) is acting like I did.

So I've seen that Fortnite's "AI Vader" has been a little controversial.

There are those who are ok with it and like it, and there are those who are upset and mad at Epic Games for putting it in the game.

My take on it is...I think I am ok with it in this case.

Make no mistake, I am not someone who is ok with AI across the board. There are definitely scenarios where I am against it's use. (Especially in the use of art and videos.) Mainly in taking other people's works without permission.

In this case, though...James Earl Jones gave permission before his death that his voice could be used in AI for Darth Vader and his family ok'd the use of his voice in Fortnite.

I've seen some people say "This is going to set a bad precedent for future voice actors!" But, this situation is a bit specific. This isn't a situation where Epic is trying to cheap out and not hire a voice actor. The voice actor is dead. And it's a voice actor who is very much tied to the character.

It also needs to be said that this isn't a character that has been made to just say some written lines to every player he meets. It's a character that interacts with the players in real time. You can't hire a voice actor and/or writer to do that. It's just not possible.

So, I do feel in this very specific case...AI is ok to be used in the game. Now if they go and start to use AI to replicate living voice actors who don't give permission...that's a completely different story.

I feel like Microsoft's putting games everywhere strategy should've been something they should've attempted to in 2026. Because right now Sony and Nintendo are kind of fucking things up.

Nintendo has all of the sudden decided to become money hungry.

And Sony made an incredibly bad call for attempting to make multiple live service games that they now have canceled because of the history making failure that was Concord. And because of that...any single player games they might be working on now won't come out for a while, so now they don't have any games.

Meanwhile...Microsoft is putting out game after game this year. Avowed, South of Midnight, Doom: The Dark Ages, Oblivion: Remastered, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4, the next Call of Duty, and POSSIBLY Forza Horizon 6. If they would've only made all of these titles exclusive...they might have actually sold some consoles this year. That's why I think they might've made a big mistake by putting games on other platforms now.

And let's not forget that one of most anticipated games of this generation is coming out this fall...GTA VI. A game that will definitely get people who are still on last gen to finally buy a current gen console. This is where having things to motivate people to buy your system is important. Like having exclusives...which Microsoft has decided not to have now.

The Star Wars season was finally revealed for Fortnite...and I am not going to lie, I am disappointed in it.

The only skins I am interested in are Palpatine and Mace Windu, but based on what the leakers are saying...Mace isn't in the battle pass. You have to buy him in the store. So that kind of sucks.

As for the rest of the skins...meh. I don't care about the sequel trilogy so that means I don't care about Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma. I have no interest in the Fortnite original mash-up skins. And I would have rather had a regular Jar Jar skin and not a meme one. And where is Qui-Gon? The leakers said he was going to be in the pass, but it appears he's not in this season at all.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised by my disappointment for this upcoming season. Most of the big characters from the Star Wars films are already in the game...so I guess they didn't have a lot to choose from anymore for the pass.

But, still..they could've thrown in Thrawn, Sabine, Ezra, Cassian Andor...any of them would've been better than mash-up skins and meme skins.

Considering how I am not a fan of The Division games Dark Zone...I am guessing I would hate playing Marathon.

It doesn't help that apparently it's also going to be a live service game that you have to pay for. I am very much against having to pay for live service games. Either make your money from the initial purchase of a game, or make your money from microtransactions. Trying to get both is just gross.

So now that Nintendo is making the same mistakes Microsoft made with the Xbox One...are people now going to do the same thing to Nintendo that they've been doing to Xbox? Hating them irrationally for over a decade?

I already know the answer is "no". (Nintendo fanboys will mindlessly still love Nintendo.)
