Did you really think she was just gonna take it?

Like seriously. Did you think Nicola was just gonna sit there quietly while you dragged her boyfriend every day? While you crafted your little theories that painted her as deceitful?

Did you think she would just smile through it forever? That she’d keep letting you treat Jake like he doesn’t exist - or worse - while pretending it’s all harmless fun?

Because at some point, enough is enough. She’s been quiet. She’s been patient. She’s let y’all get away with a lot. But you pushed it too far.

You cannot bully someone for months and then act shocked when they block you. You cannot insult the person she loves and expect her to do nothing.

I created a whole blog to say this

My opinion as an actual gay man and Bridgerton fan who has been watching the shit show from the sidelines for months (mostly on X but my friend sent me tumblr screenshots and wow you girls are on another level.)

💔💔💔💔💔 I'm sorry but Jake Dunn is probably not gay 1. He is openly dating a woman. 2. He is surrounded by gay friends who would accept him. 3. He works in an industry where many of his peers are gay. His friends are mostly gay actors. If he were gay he would have no reason to hide it.

Being called twink or princess by your friends means you are loved. You are easy to joke with. You are safe and trusted. I have a straight friend who is married to a woman that I call my twink angel because he is the sweetest soul and know he isn't going to feel any type of way about it.

As a gay man who has never even kissed a woman Even I would make an exception for Nicola Coughlan She is funny brilliant beautiful. She is mother. It is not hard to understand why someone would want to be with her

It is not cool to insist that this man is gay when he has never said it himself and is openly dating a woman.

Debunking Rumors

We’ve already talked about how actors — whether straight, queer, or somewhere in between — can play LGBTQ characters without it being some kind of confession. I wanted to also address other rumors that have been floating around tumblr.

1. “Jake is playing a gay character in "What It Feels Like for a Girl.”

Not true. Jake’s character, Liam, is described as bisexual and straight-acting.

Here is a pic from my book as proof.

2. “The show has an all-queer cast.”

Unverified, but likely not true.

I’ve seen this claim repeated over and over, but I have not found a single credible source that confirms it. Every time I ask someone where this information came from, they either change the subject or say they “heard it somewhere.”

If anyone finds an actual source, I’m open to reading it. Until then, this sounds like another rumor that started on Tumblr and became "fact" through repetition.

And just to be clear — even if the cast was entirely queer, that would still not tell you anything definitive about Jake.

As we’ve already covered, being queer does not mean you are forbidden from dating someone of the opposite gender. Queer people date across the gender spectrum. That is what queerness means.

At the end of the day, Jake has not said anything about his sexuality. And that is perfectly fine. He doesn’t owe the internet a press release just because people are obsessed with his relationship.

I feel like sometimes people forget that women can have both a feckin successful career and someone to stand by your side and share those moments with.

So all im saying is that this is an amazing woman any other people aside she has raised insane amounts of awareness and money for many different causes, she has worked her arse off to get from the bottom to the top and deserves everything that comes her way.

Being on the younger end of the fandom still in my late teenage years I feel that people have a hell of a lot to say and wont put a face to it. They love anonymity and being quite frankly hostile to people who eventhough many of us idolise are only HUMAN. I think being younger stuff like that is genuinely worrying that people who should be trying to leave the world atleast a little better than they found it are sitting behind phone screens hurting people who have done nothing but shown immense kindness using their platform.

Basically in a world were you can be anything be kind.
