This is amazing!!

Ranch Story veteran @miss-kid took a visit to MAGfest and got to see a bunch of great farmsim cosplay! The whole Flower Bud Village quintet and original A Wonderful Life trio was there alongside Gustafa and the Witch Princess! Can't forget our farmsim pals from SDV and beyond too!

A nice long look at some gameplay! The game comes out later this month (26 January) in Japan. Release date for other regions hasn’t been announced yet, but will probably be soon, considering that XSEED is taking preorders for the physical copy already.
youtube
The first real-time gameplay video for Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life has released via the weekly radio show! It shows the opening bit of the game, with character creation, meeting the townsfolk, and later on there's a bit of a timeskip to some married life!
If the timestamp doesn't work, gameplay starts at 9:45

In case you missed it:
XSEED is having a Steam Sale that includes the Mineral Town remake, Pioneers of Olive Town, Rune Factory 5, and Rune Factory 4 Special! They’re currently priced (in US dollars) at $19.99 for Mineral Town, $23.99 for PoOT, $19.49 for RF4, and $29.99 for RF5. The sale ends on the 5th of January 2023.
If you’re missing any of those titles, now might be a good time to pick one up via Steam! Now excuse me while I go purchase Mineral Town, as I don’t have that one in any format yet.

The 18th of December is the 14th anniversary of the Japanese release of Harvest Moon: Grand Bazaar! Here are the wallpapers from the official website to celebrate. So cool that the website is still up, even if the left side is now nothing more than a broken plugin. RIP, Flash...
This one is my favorite of the original DS era. I loved the design of the two protagonists (and used official art of the female protagonist as my icon for a long, long time), and I found the whole bazaar aspect of the game to be a lot of fun. Would absolutely love to see their outfits as a clothing choice in a new game or remake someday...

A Wonderful Life (Gamecube) Seasonal Detail Appreciation Post
Just a few pics I’ve taken from playing the first chapter of the game again. Pics are from my phone, which doesn’t really do it justice, but I think you get the idea. The detail to the changing of the seasons wowed me back in 2003 and it still wows me now. This is a very lovely game, and I’m really looking forward to the remake!
I didn’t make note of what season each pic is in, and they got mixed up when transferring, so... Well, feel free to guess, lol.

Didn’t know that about Claire’s origin, actually! That’s neat.
I’m so glad they not only started making games with female protagonists, I’m also glad they also stopped releasing them as separate games. It was annoying to have to purchase a game and then feel pressured to purchase it again months or a year later just so that you could play as a female and marry a male. I never picked up a few of the “for girl” versions of the games because of that. I already had to spend extra to buy them in both Japanese and English, so I only bought the Japanese version of some of the girl games. I STILL don’t have English versions of some of them, but now, thanks to the remakes, I don’t feel like I need to hunt them down! Yay for the remakes for fixing the gender selection issue!

Another Monday, another Photobucket Grab Bag. A really cute detail on the group shot of the 64 cast is that the gourmet is reading some of the manga that would later be compiled into the Special Comic book. At the time, Claire was never meant to become a playable character in any of the games.

As revealed in the brand new gameplay trailer, Rune Factory 5 will feature same-sex relationships. This allows players to develop relationships, and eventually marry, any of the marriage candidates as either the male or female protagonist. Same-sex relationships have been a long time requested feature within the Rune Factory franchise, and so we are ecstatic to finally reveal its inclusion within Rune Factory 5.

As part of this adventure, players will be able to explore vast dungeons, defeat vicious monsters, nurture nearby farmland and develop relationships with various characters to find true peace and happiness within the town of Rigbarth.
Newcomers and fans alike will be able to experience refined action-RPG combat, with eight different weapons, including Dual Blades, Spear and Axe, available to master, alongside iconic features such as farm management, town quests and festivals. Whether you decide to fight off monsters around town, aid the townspeople with their troubles, or embrace your green thumb dreams, Rune Factory 5 will offer an adventure like no other when it launches on Nintendo Switch.

XSEED has released a second localization blog for Rune Factory 5! This isn’t all however, as in addition to the March 22, 2022 release date, they also confirmed same-sex marriage will be available day 1 for all territories outside Japan, with Japan also getting a patch in the coming months. Here’s an excerpt from the article:
Our second announcement is something that we’ve been working toward for many years: Rune Factory 5 will be the first game in the series to include same-sex marriage. This means that from the start of the game you can marry any of the 12 wonderful marriage candidates as Ares or Alice without avatar-swapping or other conditions. This feature was not present in the Japanese release of the game in May of this year, but will be added to that version in a future patch. It will be included in our game from launch.
Please be sure to check out the full article, as there’s lots of great details! XSEED really lookin’ out for fans with this release.
