I survived work today, although tomorrow’s going to be hell >.>; Anyway! I did some JLPT study today, like usual it seems. Ugh.

I’m gonna have to force myself to study something else tomorrow. It’s getting to the point that I’m not even looking at my other languages, so I’m definitely going to have to work on a different one tomorrow.

Today’s another Japanese day (I need to switch at some point, damn), oops. It was fun though♡

Did a bit of chatting in Japanese with @tea-coffee-languages​ and @townofpinku​! It was fun; I’m sorry I rambled a bit too much while we were there lol 

Played some more games in Japanese today, and now I’m about to watch some more Legal High and do some more JLPT study. I have zero motivation though :( Being without an aircon is killing me. It was over 40℃ today, and it’s now 9PM and it's barely cooled down at all.

oh my god, I have the feeling I need this translation book in my life

It’s so good so far♡ 

It’s got practice translations you can try with suggested answers in the back, marking suggestions, a flowchart to judge errors within the translations (starting with the question: ‘Is the meaning lost, changed or obscured?’), romanisation conventions for when you need to write the romanised version of a Japanese word, comparisons of translating poetry and articles, and so on, it brings up the debate of if it’s better to always translate to L1 rather than L2 (and then brings up points for both), and there’s so much in there. 

I'm really liking it so far, but I haven’t had the confidence to try the translation practices yet. Even without doing those it’s still super interesting though♡

sigh i feel the same too. My confidence was soooo crushed that I'm not sure if I'll actually retake n1 :-(

:( Maybe you’ll pass the second time though? But fingers crossed you’ve passed this one♡ 

If I have to retake it, I hope it goes like when I retook N2. Even if vocab/grammar/reading was bad, at least my listening pulled me up to a passing mark then lol

The closer we get to the exam results being released the more convinced I am that I will also be retaking the N1 this year

Hope for the best, expect the worst?

Gotta say, when I took the exam I did not leave it feeling confident about my results :( Ah well, hopefully I’ll be pleasantly surprised and if not then I’m taking another trip to Sydney in December lol

90% sure my computer’s going to overheat if I leave it running any longer, so I’m gonna quickly post this and then shut down my computer and study for the next hour or so. Which means I haven’t been productive yet, but I will! lol

These came in the mail today so I’m gonna have a quick flick through How to Sound Intelligent in Japanese and then maybe spend half an hour doing exercises from The Routledge Course in Japanese Translation. After that will probably be some JLPT N1 study because why not? I’m probably going to be taking it again anyway. 

Well, time to turn my computer off before it dies. :(

Abbreviations: Slt, cc, short for salut and coucou, they mean hi hey hiya Mdr, ptdr: mort de rire, pété de rire, they mean lol, lmao Qd: quand, when Qqn: quelqu'un, someone Qqchose: quelquechose, something Pq or pk: pourquoi, why Vs, ns: vous and nous: you plural and we Tkt or tékaté: t'inquiètes ( don’t worry) the second one is used usually ironically Tmtc: toi même tu sais, you too you know, used among friends as a way of returning a compliment (or roast) to someone, but informal so don’t use it with like a stranger who says they like your shirt Pck, pcq, psq, psk, parce que: because, the first 2 are most common Vrmt: vraiment, really Srx, srse, sérieux(se) seriously Pb: problème or problématique in a scholar environment Ptn: putain, shit as an interjection Nn, nan: non Ps: pas, not Jv: je vais, I’m going (to) C: c'est, it is T, tu es, t'es, you are Qlq: quelque, some Msg: message Wsh, wesh: English equivalent of yas

34/100 Days of Productivity

What is this messy handwriting??? Okay, so I’ve been playing a few too many games recently and haha, whoops, wrist starts killing me out of the blue. It’s been like nearly half a year since my wrist was hurting this bad, which is weird cause it wasn’t like my gaming habits had changed much? 

Anyway, my wrist brace makes writing a nightmare. I took it off today to do the handwriting tag because look at this mess. Look at it. It’s awful lol 

So I tried to write actual notes at first, but I received a message from a friend I’ve started practicing my Korean with and had to scramble for online dictionaries to figure out how to word what I wanted to say back. （;´▽｀A``

I need to work on grammar more. I feel like if I know the grammar and how to conjugate verbs better I’ll be able to make do even if I need to constantly look up words for a while at least I’ll know the order I’ll need them in. Ahh, I finished a textbook recently that explained a bunch, but none of it seemed to stick at all. I’ll have to go over my notes again.
