marinadiamandis: The last few weeks have been magical and intense and I’ve been so moved by your responses to this record — thank you for being a ride or die fan base!🎢 There’s always been an interesting parallel with my fans where we seem to be on some kind of joint journey of growth, and this album reminds me of that. When I first started writing it in November 2023 I was in a very different place in my life. I knew that in order to feel differently, I needed to think differently. And so I started to pay attention to what I was consuming — music, books, media — as well as the relationships with people in my life. I was inspired by the quote “we choose familiar hells over unfamiliar heavens” — because it magnified the human tendency to choose the familiar, even if it wasn’t good for us. Because to imagine something we’ve never experienced before can make us feel like it isn’t possible. I began to want better for myself in every way. And that included the Love I accepted. The thing with wanting to change your life is that many of us wait for external events to change how we feel internally. But in my experience, you have to do the reverse. Changing your life starts with changing your own energy — and your external world will begin to mirror that. So I started to write music that felt like where I wanted to be energetically. I wanted open heartedness and freedom. ‘PRINCESS OF POWER’ documents the process of redefining love for myself in an effort to open my own heart. It’s been a roadmap to transformation and I hope it can be of help on your own journeys ❤️
