the thing that makes me sad about louwill in canon is that it's so one-sided, Will is too focused on his mission and being adorable with his friends while Louis does his song and dance of saying he's interesting and letting him close even when he knows what's going on, offering to let him join even at the very end after Will has tried to kill him 3 times, and he sounds SO sad after he thinks Will is dead.
