Looping an arm around her friend Lily pushed the hair from her face with her free hand, one leg crossing over the other as a knowing grin captured her lips, “Oh? Do tell…” she almost teased.

Swiftly, Marlene licked her lips and took a rather deep breath before she faced her best friend. “I..” She couldn’t help but nervous when it comes to telling her about her recent development with their mutual friend. “Sirius and I. We’re sort of a thing-- for now.”

Daisy nodded her comprehension. The world was becoming heightened in hellish nature with each passing day, and despite the sunshine in her heart and the positivity in her mind, the Hufflepuff had come to terms with the acknowledgement that everything was not perfect as she wished that it could be. No matter what, she would have to accept that reality to effectively survive and to protect the lives of the people whom she loved; one of those people was, undeniably, the woman who was speaking to her now. Daisy reached out and lightly pushed a strand of Marlene’s dark hair out of her eyes and commented, “Of course they sent you.” The blonde girl’s eyes and lips smiled in unison. “Who else would they send?”

She watches her friend as she smiled. It wasn’t for a long time that she had feel comfort within her presence. Secretly, she admires the Hufflepuff for her ability to keep her positive mind intact in the middle of the war. Even herself had lost hope after anything that happened to her for the past few months. The war had taken everything from them, yet she still have the spirit to cheer everyone up. Something that Marlene never had. “Although I doubt they will allow me to go to any mission since I messed everything up. I’m never a great dueler-- Jason was one of our best.” She mused and offered Daisy another smile. It’s been a while since she was talking about him, yet she feels it helps her through the day knowing he’s there with her. “They would send you too, Daise.”

Sirius felt the world shift, he felt Marlene’s arm around him but everything felt distant and fuzzy. His head spun and felt a cold sweat cover his skin as gravity pulled him down to the couch. He heard Marlene’s distant, worried, voice and opened his mouth to reply. A weird tingle ran at the base of his skull, something familiar yet unknown, leading Sirius to an state of unconsciousness, his limbs falling limp on the couch.

It happens in a blur. Marlene fell on top of him while she tried to support him and now he’s limp on the couch, with his eyes closed. He’s too heavy for her to sustain, yet she can lift herself up. She had become panic, not knowing about what had happened to him. “Sirius?” She shook him gently, as if she tried to wake him up. “Sirius?” She’s unable to hold herself from burst into tears. “Sirius.. Please?”

With a smile Lily climbed into the bed beside Marlene, knowing that she would soon be asleep and that her work day would continue, she happily gave the other woman what she needed for in many ways it was what the redhead needed as well. “Now get some sleep young lady,” she chided as ever the mother would.

She couldn’t help but relieved that her friend agreed to accompany her. Not that she wants to be a bother, knowing how busy she tend to be in these hours after what happened. But, she doesn’t want to be alone. “I.. I will. But, I want to tell you about something.” She wasn’t willing to spoil the fact just yet. But, she deserves to know. “Something we talk about on our last lunch date.” Marlene hinted.

She could feel a blush began to build within her cheek, spread through her neck as she gets herself lost in those dark eyes that belongs to him. She grumbled, weighing in her decision. He clearly knows how much she hated to take any of that potions. But, she hated to admit that he was right. Merlin knows how much she even more annoyed of getting sick. Marlene took a rather deep breath, once again stole a glance at him. She nodded and began to open her mouth. “Okay.”

Summer || Sirius+ Marlene

Sirius chuckled and took the blanket from her face, looking at her beautiful eyes, it was the only time Sirius felt calm and that things in the world weren’t as bad as he believed. “That’s why you have to take the medicine so I can properly cuddle and kiss you, you know how bad my redraws get.”

Marlene leaned back to the bed. In a sudden, she felt tired and sleepy. But, her eyes fixed to her best friend, find herself smiling at her words yet she sense that something was off from her. "Yes, Mum.” She mumbled, buried her head within the pillow. She patted the empty spot next to her. “Do you mind? I.. I don’t like to be alone-- not in time like this.”

Lily placed a gentle hand upon Marlene’s shoulder, squeezing it in hopes of comforting the woman as she gave the slightest push to have her lay down, “You need to rest,” she urged with a smile although her heart was far from being in those upturned lips. “Healing now. Hugs later.”

She let out a breath that she wasn’t even aware had held since the beginning. Sirius is safe. But what shook her the most was they’re losing quite amount of people from their side. There were not supposed to be any victims. “I.. They were not supposed to be-- how? Who ki-- did that?”

He nodded looking at her. “Ethan and Sturgis.” He shook his head.

“I..” She shook her head, trying to get herself focused. Fear and worry struck her expression as she lurched forward, helping him balanced himself. She wrapped her arm around his waist, trying to pull him closer to her and lead him to the nearest couch. There was a crash coming from her back, like they had broken something. But she could be more careless about anything but him. She lowered herself down on her knees as gently took his face with both of her hands, wiped a few strands of hair that covers his eyes. “Sirius?” She called for his name, trying to bring his attention back to her.

Cure || Blackinnon (Flashback)

The potion tasted horrible, but worst was how it made him feel, she was certainly an anchor of some sort but the edges of the world were fuzzy and his head felt like be falling in all directions at the same time, “I need to sit…” he heard himself mumbling before stumbling on his feet the potion was making him lose control of his environment and now he was doubting the person who sent the potion.

She couldn’t help but feel surprise at her sudden movement. Merlin knows how much affection her friend had and no one can contain her burst in a bubble. She offered her another smile. “Yes. The one and only Rabastan Lestrange.” She tries convinced her. Although all of the things that happen was in a blur for the last minutes. She barely remembers anything aside from the ground start to crumble and saw James dueling with someone. She widened her eyes. The fact that she just remembers about that, she had the urge to go search after her brother. “Daise, there’s nothing to be apologizing.” She assured her with another gentle smile. “I have-- in fact, they sent me into this mission. But you’re the first that I come across into.”

Daisy chuckled lightly, having already forgotten their little quarrel and the succeeding tension. The former Hufflepuff leaned in eagerly to kiss Marlene’s cheek. The woman was highly affectionate and she simply could not stop hugging her friend! Especially after all of the chaos that was unfolding in the world around them; each moment of personal contact was precious. “I suppose that I could use some unwinding,” she agreed with an ambitious nod. “Rabastan?” Daisy asked, her voice surprised, but she was not totally shocked. Daisy could be naïve, after all, and liked to see the better parts of everyone. She had just been speaking to him the day prior even though it had been a brief conversation. “I’m sorry, Marls, Merlin! That makes me so angry.” She paused. “Have you informed the rest of the Order?” A silly question considering that every member of the society was being targeted by dark Death Eaters.

Her eyes fixed on the window in front of them, watching the wind blowing the leaves. While for a moment later, she saw their surroundings. It’s all chaos. A lot of damage had been caused after their last mission. Yet her mind wander to the moment she encounters the Death Eater that night and to this day. She was unable to focus on one thing, since there’s a lot that crossed her mind. She jerked, watching the wound healed slowly. Her skin was nothing than deep red marred scar. Of course, she’s the only one she trusts to do such a thing. She nodded, while slowly reached for her arms. “I.. thank you.” She tried not to wince as she leaned forward.

Choosing to focus on her work rather than the doubt which fluttered within the confines of her skull Lily cast the required spells—those set in to heal quickly yet painlessly, those which would aid in setting her friend right and yet those which she couldn’t help but feel were highly ironic for there she stood putting pieces back together and yet she felt as if she couldn’t do the same within her own life. There she stood doubting things she knew she never truly could and yet there she stood in fear—there she worried. Slowly Lily watched as the wounds knit together, “I’ll give you something after for that nasty bit of infection, and then if you’d like for the pain…”

She yelped in surprise as she found he manage to move her blanket away and she found his eyes on her. Her eyes widened, as his words manage to strike her. Did he say that he loves me? She could feel her face flushed mostly because of her fever and slight of embarrassment. Marlene licked her dry lips, ogling for his moist lips. “I..” She whispered. “I.. I know. As much as I want to.. I can’t. I don’t want you to caught my fever.” She muttered with hint of a smile as she looks down, stare at her hands.

Summer || Sirius+ Marlene

Sirius was in shock for a second, Marlene had said a big word right there and he didn’t know how to react to that on the spot, he looked at her and couldn’t help but be amused at the way she acted; he imagined not being there and not being with her and he knew his answer to her words. He pried the blanket form her head and smiled at her, “Really, McKinnon, because I can’t kiss the woman I love when she’s sick. I’m worst than you are when I’m not healthy.”

Marlene pulled away, unable to hide her surprise as an image of Sirius come to her mind. She hasn’t seen him since she admitted here, nor he had visited her. “Wh-- who? Who are they?”

He took a breath. “Not everyone - we lost.. two people.”

She was about to open her mouth, to bring up that topic even further. But instead of saying a thing, she chooses to ignore it. He was right. “Of course. There’s no need to dwell on it.” She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him into a hug. “I’m just glad that you’re safe. We were safe.”

He nodded. But there was noo proof “No one else” He agreed and shook his head “No need to dwell on it.”

“Of course, I love you, Sirius.” She blurted. Her eyes widened and the air feels slightly warmer than before. She could feel blush crept through her cheeks and she unconsciously moved her hand to cover her lips. Marlene weakly pushed him away and crawl back into her bed, pulled the blanket to cover her face. “Really, Black? Your girlfriend is sick and all you think was snogging her.”

“You love me too much to do that, McKinnon.” he pointed and pulled her up, “Come on, take your potion so we can snog again.”
