thinking about the time in my freshmen english class when the writing prompt of the day was “What are you afraid of?” and when we were discussing everyone else said heights or the ocean or smth
and i talked about how i’m scared that ill end up choosing my career based on a phase and get stuck with doing something that i hate for the rest of my life :/
the teacher had no idea how to respond LMAO

so at school we’ve been doing a lot of review for state testing next week. and one part of the test we have to do is writing a blended essay (meaning it’s a mix of argumentative, expository, and narrative) and we were reading some student essays from past years and looking at their grade to see how they were gonna grade us
one of the essayas they gave us was mostly narrative and all of the characters were from homestuck IM CRYING
i don’t know anything about homestuck except that there’s a character named Karkat and their name was in it so i had to look up the other characters and they were all in it I CANT

I'll Give You the Sun isn't enough. I need to read the 16 year old parts from Noah's perspective now. I need to read about him loving Brian so much that after two years have passed, he's still writing notes to him online, hoping by some chance Brian will see them, how after two years he's still hopelessly in love with Brian and regretting what he said about Brian before he left, and I can't handle this. Two years passed. The longing. The angst. I need to read it.
And I need to read what they said to each other in the end. What happened? 16 years old from Noah's perspective is a necessity.

okay maybe i’m delusional and grasping for content but does the song “J’s lullaby” by Delaney Bailey give off huge Ill Give You The Sun vibes, like google says they aren’t correlated in anyway but there’s too many similarities for me to think it’s a coincidence
“I'd give you the sun if you asked me
You could have all of the time
You could have the stars and the trees
When dividin' up the universe”
YOU CANT TELL ME THAT ISNT A DIRECT REFERENCE TO ILL GIVE YOU THE SUN HUH
maybe i’m just dumb idk
