From the first creative breath, he utters sentences, words, syllables and even more and more ‘’protoverbal’’ sounds and noises, in an attempt to propose a new relationship between real and imaginary, between words and things, sounds and meaning. This is the space where the first archetypal sounds (breath, voice, verb) embedded in human collective unconscious got a twist and spread their swirling mysterious creative energy, where music and poetry can’t be split and divided anymore. PROTOVERB is a rare « sound poetry » record, transcending the genre and bringing very ancient pneuma practices into a fresh joy and understanding about life and how reality manifests. "Sueños de la Joya is an ongoing collaboration between Berlin-based Canadian musician Scott Monteith aka Deadbeat and Paris-based Chilean poet and sound artist Martin Bakero. While the first version was released as an album length collection of 4 long form compositions on Monteith’s BLKRTZ label in May 2020, this second version expands the project into the visual realm, re-editing the closing two sections and using them as a soundtrack to Monteith’s own film documentation of a road trip from Santiago to the beginning of the Atacama desert in December 2018.
