Halt is doing his usual broody thing of pretending to be asleep sitting under a tree. Keeping an eye on Will While he practices archery. That way if Will slacks off or does something tease worthy. Halt Will know.

But this time something different happens. As he’s watching will he sees a movement out of the corner of his eye. He reaches for his saxe knife but stops when he sees it’s a baby bunny. The little thing was staring at him all fluffed up. Not even a little afraid. He waved his hand at it. “Shoo,”

The bunny took that as an invitation to hop forward more.

Halt stares at it, “you are either the bravest or stupidest rabbit I have ever seen”

The baby bunny scampered right onto Halts lap, and stared at him with wide eyed wonder.

He frowned, “I am not petting you. If that’s what you want them go find someone else.”

The bunny twitched its nose adorably.

Halt sighed and resignedly reached up and rubbed the bunny’s fluff right between the ears. It practically melted with delight.

Eventually Halt put its hand back down, “Are you satisfied? Will you leave me alone now?”

The bunny scampered off. Halt sighed. And went back to watching Will While pretending to be asleep.

After five minutes he saw another movement out of the corner of his eye, glancing over his eyes widened ever so slightly. (Halts version of jaw dropping shock)

There were six baby bunnies staring at him expectantly.

Cut to Wills pov

He pauses his archery to glance at Halt. His eyes see the most absurd scene he had never even dreamed of. His grizzled mentor was surrounded by snoozing baby bunnies as he pet their fluffy heads.

well yeah i have a pet hydra and it only has one head. i'm not going to cut its head off just to make it look cooler, you asshole. that's seriously unethical. and i'm not letting you cut its head off either. if you really want a hydra with multiple heads, you should go for a rescue- but if you want your pet to look cooler at the cost of its physical health, maybe you shouldn't get any kind of pet at all. no, the hydra's not for guarding my evil tower, it's my pet. have you ever heard of a pet? like a puppy or a kitty? you think i can't defend my evil tower by my self?

ngl though Cassandra and Horace are two people I don’t think should have kids being an example of two ppl who shouldn’t have had kids LMAO.

Maybe Horace could be an alright dad with an interesting story of his self doubts over the way he doesn’t know how to be a father because he didn’t have one- I think that would be his most interesting/realistic route. Instead he kinda just ended up as the Uhhhhh listen to your mother type dad

But Cassandra just doesn’t strike me as Mother Material. Which is ALSO interesting actually- she’s almost forced into it with her role- she has to have a child to continue her bloodline, and that’s final for her whether she wanted it or not. Is that why she only had one child? It just isn’t a role she wants? She’s ambitious and steadfast but she isn’t motherly and doting. Sure she took care of Will that time, but that was NOT an example.

Maddie is a byproduct of all that, I mean they were pretty much giving up on her at only 15 years old for her. Going outside and back talking. 😭 what the hell? I can imagine Maddie grew up knowing very well she was only around to continue a royal line and not because her parents wanted a child. And that SUCKS. I mean, CANONICALLY her self esteem is low and she craves validation and respect from her peers, she seeks out Will’s smallest approval and is overtly hurt when it falters, she knows the feeling of “being a disappointment” all too well- even when she tries. AGH. i mean I’m only 100 something pages in though so. Who knows ✨ im probably reading too far into it LMAO also idr everything that’s happened atp

I feel weird because there’s so much happening in the MCU rn and the avengers aren’t there anymore. Like what do you mean there’s no more Steve Rogers ? Where’s Natasha ? What’s gonna happen to Clint ? and Bruce ? And Thor who’s gonna be so alone ?

I can’t believe Reed Richards is never gonna meet Tony Stark because he’s dead.

They’re dead and nothing happened.

Like we had two avengers movies before civil war, before they just broke up and everything started falling apart.

Two movies, it’s nothing.

We saw them as friends, as a family, as a team for one movie. A single movie.

It’s not enough. It was nothing. So much potential and they’re just gone.

Don’t get me wrong, I love marvel movies, still do. I love our Captain America, I love Yelena and I think she’s going to be an amazing black widow and ofc I love Riri Williams and I loved her for years but I miss my avengers, I miss how different and fun and sad they were. I miss my team and I wish we had more of them.

I’ll stick to fanfiction and reread comics ofc but it’ll never be the same.

I wish they did more. I wish they were the found family we needed and I’m forever disappointed that they weren’t.

It ended too fast.

I’m watching the Thunderbolts trailer and the tower is empty. There’s no one there anymore as if they were never there before.

It breaks my heart it truly does.

I miss them, they deserved to be a family more than anything ❤️
