18 years of living with Type 1 Diabetes today! To be honest I wasn't sure how to feel today. I've never known the actual date of my diaversary, only that it was in November. Thank you so much to everyone who helped wish me a happy Diaversary, I blown away and astonished with all of your love and support today! Everything from texts, flowers, calls, messages, gifs, and even personalized songs, I cannot express in words how much it all means to me. I was not expecting any of this, I am so thankful for all of the good part that has come out of diabetes, like the wonderful community I have found, the amazing friends I've made and the awesome experiences that I've had! Celebrating #WorldDiabetesDay with Percy! 💙 it's been a rough day, my blood sugar was super high all last night (even reading just simply HI on my meter) and I didn't get a lot of sleep repeatedly waking it up and correcting. It was still around 400 this morning and I felt absolutely awful. I couldn't go to work and instead I slept for a while after doing a full pump site change. Luckily my BGs have come back down finally to normal levels ... kinda funny that this happened today, on #WDD of all days 😂 luckily I had Percy, the #BT1SnailMail mascot to cheer me up, how cute is he?! 💙💌💉💙 #ndam #livebeyond #beyondtype1

It's #WorldDiabetesDay! Take a minute to educate yourself about the warning signs of this disease - they can be very easily missed or mistaken for something else, leading to thousands of cases of DKA at diagnosis. If not quickly dealt with, DKA can have serious long term and sudden complications, including death. Type 1 is also diagnosed just as often in both adults and children, it is not just a "kids disease". That's my mama! I could not be more proud - to kick off #NationalDiabetesAwarenessMonth yesterday my amazing mom was in NYC to ring the closing bell at Nasdaq with Insulet and @beyondtype1! I could never have imagined that our company, barely a year and a half old, would have such a huge impact on the #T1D community and that we would be in TIMES SQUARE!! I used to see this building every day on my way to school so to have my mom and Beyond Type 1 up there was absolutely amazing! We got 90 minutes of screen time on the tower after this and got to show our "Welcome To Beyond Type 1" video featuring Henry @sarabeejensen and @therealvictorgarber! Absolutely incredible, I am so blown away and so proud of everything we have accomplished in such a short time! 💙 and mom, I'm so proud of you! I am so lucky to be your daughter and to have the privilege of working with you every day - thank you for always doing everything in your power to help me live my best life with #T1D - I love you! #proud #livebeyond #beyondtype1 #timessquare (at Times Square, New York City)

A few days ago, I had to use my glucagon. My number was at 31, with a full unit of insulin on board. I am usually ok to give myself glucagon when I need to, but this time was different. I froze, I couldn't bring myself to do it, and I had to have my (amazing) boyfriend give me the injection. Afterwards, all I could do was melt onto the floor and cry, absolutely terrified. I very rarely get scared in my life with diabetes, but I was legitimately afraid, and I don't know why. I've been lower than that, I've given glucagon to myself before, but this was different. IT'S OVER! Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who helped support @beyondtype1 in the @revlon Million Dollar Challenge! We are so thrilled to end in 4th - especially since the top 2 charities both funneled in over 800K each in the final half hour and each raised over $25 million last year, whereas Beyond Type 1 raised 750K in our entire fiscal year last year. This is huge for us, the money we've raised will go so far, and we are so excited to be getting an extra 50K for finishing 4th. Thank you thank you thank you so much everyone!
