A Valentine's Day One-Shot

I wrote a Valentine's Day One-Shot for Round 1 Day 7 of Prompting Everthorne awhile back. It hasn't been posted on the site yet, but I wanted to share it. I'm still working on the next chapter of  What Might Have Been, but this is something fun for the mean time. You can read it here.

This just made my day! So happy to know this story's not abandoned! Also, glad to know you're okay!

Awesome. I love making people's days. I am okay, just busy and really struggling to write the next chapter because it's hard to imagine exactly how a family would really cope with everything that just happened. How much would there be business as usual because life has to go on, how much fear vs. anger would there be, etc. And how much of that do I choose to show even if it isn't  key to the plot.

On the plus side, I feel really blessed that I find it hard to imagine something like that. There are people all over the world who probably know first hand what life is like after events like that.

So I'm just the worst, but don't give up on me yet

Hey! I'm sorry for going MIA. I don't have a particularly brilliant excuse, just that real life was super busy and this next chapter of What Might Have Been has been tough to write. I have a draft of it that I've re-written about five times. I also have limited time to write these days, so when I spend the time I do have just re-writing it's not so helpful. I don't know why this chapter's been giving me so much grief, but there it is.

In the mean time, I'm sorry. I know flaky writers are frustrating, but if you can stick with me, I really want to finish this story. I know where it's going and I just refuse to abandon it. Please bear with me and I really do apologize.

Six Sentence Sunday

"Would it be-could, could I-

Gale furrows his brows and trails off, giving his head a small shake.

"What?" Katniss searches his face, trying to understand what's gotten him so tongue-tied.

"I want to-I-

It's horribly uncharacteristic for Gale to be this hesitant and Katniss can't imagine what he could possibly want that he's so afraid to ask of her.

 "Gale, what do you want? Whatever it is, it's fine. I'd do anything for you."

She isn't entirely sure where the words came from, but she knows they're true. And she thinks he ought to know by now too, but before she can tell him that, he's leaning in and pressing his lips against her own.

See, it will happen eventually. I swear.

Hey, how are you? I have a few questions: 1) Is someone going to finda out about their sleeping arrangements? (it seems like Rory is the next chapter, am I right?); 2) Is there going to be another chapter that portraits someone's birthday? Gale's, one of the other Hawthornes', or Prim's?; 3) I know that Katniss thinks that Gale is oblivious to her reactions towards him, but is he? What about Hazelle, does she have a clue about what Katniss fells towards him, or what Gale feels towards Katniss?

I'm good, busy but good. Thanks for asking. So, on to your questions:

1. You are only partially right.

2. I don't think so. In a few chapters they won't really be in a position to be celebrating birthdays.

3. He is definitely not, but he's trying to figure out how to proceed without freaking her out. He's also got a lot of other things on his mind.

4. Hazelle doesn't realize quite how much their relationship is changing yet. She's convinced they'll end up together eventually, but she's too busy to notice how things are moving...for now :)

I'm loving your story! Its so good. But really, when are they going to kiss? :P the sexual tension must be unbelievable around the pair of them, they all must be oblivious to the fact. Please update!!

Thank you! I don't think Gale's oblivious, but he knows better than to rush Katniss. As far as when they are going to kiss, it's within the next 2-3 chapters. In the mean time, see the Six Sentence Sunday I'm about to post :)

Six Sentence Sunday

"What are you doing?"

Rory is standing in the kitchen, eyes drifting from her face to the bags on the table.  She doesn’t answer, because she can’t-won’t-involve Rory in her insanity. Instead, she just rocks on her heels and lets the silence hang over them.

She would have expected him to keep pressing her, Gale certainly would have, but Rory just stares at the bags. When he does speak, it’s not what she expected.

"You didn’t say goodbye to him."

He studies her face and she tries not to give anything away, but she must, because his mouth opens slightly and his eyes widen.

This story (WMHB) is like crack to me, and I'm dying for the next fix. Can we do a new thing, like, "Ten Chapters Thursday" day or something?

Ten chapters?! Only if someone else writes them for me :) I'm just not that good.
