The friends that are chronically 30 minutes late are so important to have because they teach u patience and the meaning of loving someone so much u let ur anger go. I have not mastered either yet but I’m sure it’s coming

there is no sacred space where your boundaries aren’t seen.
Today I found the altar I mostly used in my parents house. It was cleaned up and misplaced. And suddenly, those offerings to the gods just seemed like objects. Drained from love and divinity. That’s when it clicked. Altars are for us to connect with the divine. It works as much as you want it to work and as little as you can. The gods aren’t angry or mad at me because my altar was cleaned up by my parents while i was gone. My gods are with me and they know that their offers are already theirs. If the material plane aspect of the altar is disrespected it doesn’t ruin the altar, the relationship nor the offerings. It’s just a calling to connect with a deeper, more personal space of worship.
If you have felt like that and you can place an altar in a space where you are respected, you will feel more comfortable with your practice. If you can’t move your altar or can’t have an altar, you will deepen your practice far beyond the limits of the material altar.
Your existence is your altar, share it with the gods.

What are egregores?
Disclaimer: this post will have no mention of tulpas. I see them grouped with thoughtforms constantly, and from my limited understanding of tulpamancy, the definition that I see passed around on Tumblr is fully incorrect. Tulpamancy is also a closed practice. It isn't mine to be part of, and in all likelihood, it probably isn't yours to be apart of either.
Second disclaimer: this is all 100% my opinion and my own personal beliefs. You do not have to agree with me
Egregores are definitely a new age idea, and disconnected from Hellenic Polytheism, which is why they're so controversial in the circle. But the broad definition of an egregore according to Wikipedia is
To understand what an egregore is, you must first understand what a thoughtform is
A thoughtform is an energetic being, entity, whatever you wanna call it, that has been brought about by manifestation. This manifestation can be intentional or unintentional. A thoughtform exists because of the belief in it.
(Important note: This is NOT the same philosophy that HelPols apply to gods, we do not believe that they exist because we know about them. We believe they exist as fully separate entities regardless of if we believe in or observe them)
Different types of thoughtforms exist, here is an incredibly simplified list of different types
Sigils: a very low energy type of thoughtform, not built with physical appearance or personality.
Servitors: a tiny split piece of your own consciousness, created to perform a task for you, and be reabsorbed by you when it's done. These are not sentient, and they only contain your own energy. They may have different names and different appearances to you.
Thoughtforms (broad term): an entity created by your belief in it
Sentient servitor: a servitor that you have chosen to split off from yourself, that has a more complex personality. These are entities that usually need to be created very carefully, and they need to be built in with "food sources", things they like, dislike, what they exist to accomplish, what they look like, their name, etc. These are created with the knowledge that they may become sentient fully. These are lifelong commitments and it's extreme energy work I won't get into, but it's a lot of concentrated effort from one person. They also may not like the things you've chosen for them, such as food sources and appearance and tasks. It is your responsibility to change these things if you didn't give them the ability to.
Egregores: a thoughtform which is known about by a large group of people, who's collective knowledge and energy give it sentence. Think of Santa Clause. We all know he isn't "real", but we still give him that thought every year through decor, songs, even offerings of milk and cookies! Enough so that the "spirit of Christmas" is a very real feeling that people experience.
Pop culture egregore: an egregore based on a fictional character and people's belief in it
Pop culture deity: an egregore based on a fictional god/goddess/divinity, fuled by both real life knowledge of the character, and in universe worship of the god.
Egregores have two points they're usually brought up alongside in modern times, so let's unpack both of those.
"Celebrities and high profile individuals have an egregore, and you can't cast spells on them because it will just fuel the egregore"
In my own personal opinion, this is bullshit fear mongering. In my opinion, I think there are dangers to casting spells on big figures. I mean, everyone and their mother hexed trump in 2020, and he just had the biggest political turnaround in modern history that literally nobody saw coming. Some might say it's connected. My personal opinion is that there's OTHER reasons you shouldn't cast on big figures like this. But historically, we cannot ignore the fact that hexes and curses have been used by the oppressed to fight back against the oppressors. Erasing that erases so much history that it's important we don't forget.
"Characters and entities from pop culture can be worked with like gods"
In my opinion, I agree with this! From my standpoint as a Hellenic polytheist, I will never hold any spirit as highly as I do the gods, however I do believe that egregores can be worked with like any other spirit. Even the PGM has a spell for creating a personal daimon, and in many ways I see this as no different.
But what are you ACTUALLY worshipping??
There are two schools of thought about this, and in my own opinion, I think it's somewhere in the middle.
Some view working with a pop culture character as working with the things they stand for. I'm going to use Twilight Sparkle as an example, because why not.
So if one wanted to work with Twilight Sparkle, under this school of thought, you aren't actually working with a personified spirit of a cartoon horse. It's more like a way to visualize a spirit of kindness, knowledge, magic, friendship, learning, etc. Some might just use the image of Twilight Sparkle as a way to bring those things into ones life. A lot of autistic practicioners do this because it's a way to link your practice to something you already know about and like.
The second school of thought is obviously, as per the post, that you are actually working with an egregore of Twilight Sparkle, and that it can manifest as the cartoon horse, because that's the collective belief in it.
Both of these are completely valid, and in my own experience meeting people, for most, the belief of what it actually is lies somewhere in the middle. This is also where I would like to remind everyone that as long as it makes you happy, doesn't break any laws, and doesn't harm anyone INCLUDING yourself, then it doesn't really matter what it is. If it's genuinely improving your life, who cares if it doesn't turn out to be real? If praying to Twilight Sparkle helps you, who is anyone to tell you that you can't do that just because it's "cringe" or whatever?
How do I know this isn't all bullshit??
Completely fair question, I would be asking the same thing. And the answer is simply that you just don't. I thought it was completely main character syndrome bullshit from the darkest depths of the chronically online, until a few years back I actually tried it. I have found so much fulfillment, so many answered prayers, and so much joy in my time working with egregores. It actually makes me sad how many people probably would love it and will never try it.
I don't judge anyone for not understanding it, but I urge you to give it a try even if you think you won't like it. Opening yourself up to energy work is so rewarding if you're willing

AI art has no right being in Helpol/witchy spaces. It's so lifeless. So boring. Your Gods would be disappointed in you. They appreciate your creativity, your imagination, the things you do. They don't care about artistic skill and would be thrilled with whatever you create, as long as it's created with your heart and not a stealing algorithm.

"digital offerings are bad!"
"moodboards are bad and low effort!"
"do digital art instead!"
So collage isn't art anymore? Collaging, the art form that's been around for ages, isn't good enough anymore because it's digital?
Or did you just want to feel superior?? Or did you just want a scapegoat? Or did you just want to point a finger at someone else so that you feel morally justified ignoring your own problems in favor of harping on someone else's? Or did you just think that the MOSTLY DISABLED people making digital offerings wouldn't care? Or did you just not think at all?

(っ◔◡◔)っ ♥ Different types of spirit guides & their roles ♥
Actually I must admit I am not the most educated on this topic, however I still do know quite a bit so if anyone has any information that I'm missing out on then feel free to comment and correct me or reblog with corrections and additional information
I also want to say that additionally the spirit guides I talk about here exclude deities like Gods, Goddess, demons, angels, demi-gods and demi-goddesses, or dragons, mer-folk (including sirens and mermaids as well as other sea spirits like selkies), the fae and other known spirits.
Spirit guides are beings that support, protect, and guide us through life’s journey. They can show up in subtle nudges, sudden clarity, dreams, signs, or strong gut feelings—and they each have their own vibe and purpose.
Not all guides stick around forever. Some are here for a lifetime, some for a specific chapter, and some show up, drop a lesson like a cosmic mic, and bounce once their job is done.
🌙Types of Spirit Guides (and what they’re great at)🌙
🕊️Lifelong Guides🕊️
Your main ride-or-die(s). They’ve been with you since birth (or early life), and they usually:
Offer big-picture guidance
Help shape your path
Ground you through spiritual changes They might feel super familiar, like you’ve known them forever—and you probably have, soul-wise.
🦉Lesson Guides / Temporary Guides🦉
They appear when you’re learning something specific or going through a major transformation.
Help you grow and shift
Teach you hard (or soft) lessons
Leave once their purpose is complete You might not even realize they were there until they’re gone and something inside you feels… wiser.
🔥Protector Guides🔥
Here to defend you—especially energetically.
Warn you about unsafe people or spaces
Help block spiritual attacks or curses
Sometimes feel very strong or even intimidating They’re the “don’t mess with my person” type of energy.
🌿Healer Guides🌿
These guides help with emotional, physical, or spiritual healing.
Often step in during illness, grief, or burnout
Might guide you toward helpful people, habits, or spiritual tools
Can be very calm, gentle, and nurturing
🪶Messenger Guides🪶
They help pass along information from your spiritual team, dreams, ancestors, or deities.
Deliver messages, signs, and synchronicities
May work through animals, numbers, dreams, or random “coincidences”
You’ll often feel like something’s trying to tell you something when they’re around
🧚Nature & Elemental Guides🧚
Connected to forests, rivers, animals, or elements like fire, water, air, and earth.
Grounding, inspiring, and deeply connected to nature
May guide you through shadow work, intuition building, or reconnecting with your roots
Great for witchy folks, animists, or pathworkers
My Final Thoughts
Spirit guides come in many forms: animals, ancestors, human-like beings, energy forms, or even abstract symbols
Some people meet their guides through dreams, meditation, automatic writing, or divination
You don’t have to know their names or see them clearly for them to be helping you
Your team changes as you change. Trust that the right guide shows up when needed
They’re not here to control your life. They’re here to support your growth, remind you of your power, and help you find your own way.

Pop Culture Witch Tips #1: Inconspicuous Invocations and Closet Cosplay
In some of the pop culture witchcraft / pop culture paganism books you may come across, you may find passages on how you can invoke the character of your choice through cosplay. However, let’s say you’re either a). On a budget or b). Can’t find a costume for your character. Plus there’s a bit of a snag in the cosplay-invocation plan in that, it’s sadly somewhat socially unacceptable to wear things like magical girl attire to most jobs.
So why not try out a bit of “closet cosplay” instead?
It doesn’t even need to be a big fancy outfit! Just something that helps remind you of the character of your choice whether it be through color scheme or certain accessories.
For example, here’s an example of outfit I wear most often when I want to take on a more powerful, magical mindset. (While not fully exact to what I wear, it should still get the point across)

Could you tell who this is meant to resemble? Probably not. Do -I- know who it’s meant to invoke in a way that matters to me? Hell yes. Could I still get away with wearing something like this out in public or private? Yup!
Wanna feel confident for a job interview? Get a subtle accessory that reminds you of a character that you associate with success and work it into your outfit. Wanna feel more pumped for exercise? Get a t-shirt or accessory of a character you associate with strength and wear it on your person!
Hopefully this helps you get some ideas for ways you can subtly invoke those you work with for your workings.
As always, stay safe, have fun, stay spooky 💜

I think I am officially Fandom Old. I am so worn out from the arguments on who's the top or the bottom (who cares), what is allowed to be written (anything you want, bejeebus), what is Problematic (I know, just tag it), what other people Should Do (they Should live their lives free of judgment). There isn't a Right Way to do things. Tag your stuff appropriately, don't read stuff you don't want to read, and leave other people (me) alone.
