Hi, im the anon that sent queen the message about the comics. I like horror, comedy (i love horror / comedy together) , fantasy you know. Dragons and whatnot, sci fi, honestly im pretty open to anything.

HorrorAfterlife With Archie is the first thing that comes to mind. Its kind of darkly funny in places. The new Sabrina apparently is an homage to 70s horror. Vertigo Swamp Thing could get down right spooky. Marvel has two big collections of their horror heroes if youre in the mood for some 70s cheese (Brother Voodoo is the shit)

ComedyQuatum and Woody, Archer and Armstrong. Both are funny as hell. Better than most of the big twos attempts. When the least outlandish thing is the characters dad trapped in the body of a pregnant goat youre in for a trip.

FantasyThe IDW D and D comic was fun. Really funny too. You would love it. Amythest of Gemworld (classic series) is available in a big old tome and is really good. The modern He Man revival has its ups and downs but I’d say its worth a look. Demon Knights was too good for this world.

ScifiABC Warriors from 2000 AD is the shit. In fact damn near anything from them (Dredd, Rogue Trooper) is worth a look. Orbital is a nice french comic that deals with two negotiators trying to settle galactic disputes (its better than it sounds). Prophet is an awesome reimaging of a 90 extreme character. Its basically an anthology with some GORGEOUS art.

“Gator” is a real timesaver, because someone saying that just freed you from listening to them ever again. It’s such a specific strawman that it has its own name. But the term “gator” is far too evocative and powerful a phrase for this phantom. I suggest the term “boogamer,” reducing the concept to the appropriate level of maturity and power. Those who fear the boogamer claim gamergate is a crusade of woman-hating assholes, instead of a struggle against a corrupt system that damages consumers as well as developers. But don’t worry, there’s a useful quick check to find out if someone’s an asshole, and it works on both sides: Ask them how they feel about ethics. That’ll identify who truly cares about equality and who’s just being an asshole real quick. Even if a man is mean to you, boohoo. You can’t dismiss an entire concept because one supporter is an asshole. If “one of them was a jerk” was reason enough to censor entire concepts, people would have become extinct long ago, along with every political and sociological concept ever conceived. I’ve met dickhead professors of quantum mechanics, but that doesn’t mean my computer stops working.
