some notes based on my travels

Arun who tried to starve himself into a quiet and merciful death & Amadeo who was tortured with starvation until he was nothing but knawing hunger & Armand who says after 500 years he doesn't need to eat as much as one young in the blood.

Arun who can't remember his own language or the cadence of his father's laugh & Amadeo who can't forget his brothers' screaming ringing in his head or the red velvet cocoon of his master's bed & Armand who can smooth over a painful memory as easily as wiping away a tear from his lover's cheek.

Arun who couldn't run fast enough to escape & Amadeo who wasn't strong enough to fight back & Armand who was all of those things and more but wasn't brave enough to change the story.

my favorite thing about navigating fanfiction is finding a really good one and being all “oh boy this was good, I hope they have more!” and literally every other story they’ve ever written was for like Miami Vice
