hi there, fairy mod mother here. i know lately we took a short hiatus (finals week for me and,,, idk general lack of life from mod frather).

some of u may have noticed the talk of discourse in the fandom as of late from mod frather, and to avoid seeing all that please blacklist the tag “nincourse” because mod frather has a lot to say on the subject.

if you were to binge watch ninjago all the way through up to season nine now, including the pilots, DotD and possibly the move as well, How many hours would it take? (assuming you were some kind of god and didnt need sleep or food and could watch the whole thing through without breaks)

Okay so at God Power, watching all of Ninjago would take… 1 day, 10 hours, and 30 minutes. Roughly. So 34.5 hours. That’s with the movie, the full eight seasons, the pilot episodes, and Day of the Departed. I only recommend this if you can transcend reality and become a god.

Hey um no offense but don't you think it might be a good idea to at least denounce creating stuff like incest in a fandom filled with kids? Stuff like that tends to do more damage than discourse. I'm not saying you have to call anyone out, just maybe be a little more sensitive to the people that may be affected by harmful content instead of telling them it's their fault if they are upset?

Incest can do damage to those triggered by it and it’s not exactly morally correct, but remember that it can also do good for those who cope with it. It’s up to opinions and situations. It’s only a portion of the problem, so I grouped it with the regular discourse in order to keep it all in one post. But, if someone is affected by incest and has trouble seeing it, I recommend blacklisting and blocking. Incest groups have always managed to flourish in nearly all fandoms. From big ones like Marvel and Supernatural, to smaller ones like Wild Kratts and Ninjago. For kids or not, if there are relatives, someone will hop on and make incest. The only true way to protect yourself is to blacklist and block. 

It’s never a bad thing to be upset, it’s a very rational thing to feel when someone sees something uncomfortable. People who are sensitive to things need to block what affects them. It’s never good to be exposed to a trigger, but nothing can be trigger-free.That’s why tagging and blacklisting is available, as to avoid things like that.

you're incredibly positive?? yeah we could appreciate that but um if you don't mind can I ask for some suggestion from you? like, yeah I know some people have serious issues and I can understand that, but does that mean being mean to other also suffering people that have been though same trauma that hold different coping methods from them cuz they shouldn't stay aback and not fighting is rightful?? I try to bring positive messages here. While I totally suck at making memes in a timely manner, they’re meant to bring something positive. Memes can be negative, but I’m looking to find the joy here. But on the note of issues, people will always have different coping methods and can’t be expected to change entirely. My main goal is to keep everything positive and away from all of the anger! 

The wording of this is slightly confusing me, but I’ll try to answer to the best of my ability. The whole issue with fandom is very complex, as some use their content to cope. Everyone copes differently from traumas, disabilities, and general emotions. There are those who head canon sexualities and races, and that’s mostly so they can relate to them on a personal level. Everyone has their way of coping and it’s rude to just hop on the death threat train when they could just be dealing with their personal issues. If you mean to fight against these people, I believe it’s okay to state your opinion. All opinions should be welcome, because that’s a form of freedom that all people should have. It’s always okay to be against something, but it’s not okay to wish harm upon another without good reason. I just think that fighting is an endless cycle, because fights never end well. Someone will always end up unhappy, there’s rarely a truce. Usually ends up in one blocking the other, or just bitterness. It’s hard to relax and be happy when you’re being angry. 

Please send another ask if I missed something, as I have a tendency to misunderstand things and go off on unwanted tangents.

Update on discourse stuff, other mod is keeping me off of asks. I'm not an admin and can't see anything without permission. If anyone expects me to answer asks, you may have to wait a while before I can even see them.

To clarify, I'm not attempting to blame those affected by certain topics. I apologize if it sounds like that. Nobody can't control what they're sensitive to, but they can control what they see. It's their choice to block it or not. When I'm sensitive to something, I block it and move on. It's a feature available on both desktop and mobile, easy to access. You can block, blacklist, report, anything you really need to do. You can't stop people from creating content, and you can't stop people from being sensitive to said content. It's best for everyone to tag and blacklist accordingly.

In my personal opinion, people can do what they want so long as they don't hurt others. I'm sure nobody intends to cause any harm by creating questionable content, they likely just want to see more of what they enjoy. They aren't demons, they're just people. Like what you like, hate what you hate, but for real, don't hurt anybody. Tags are there to protect those with sensitivities and should be utilized as such.

TL; DR: Nobody can control their triggers, but they can control what they do about them. Blacklist and block what you need, don't expect everyone to have the same wants and needs as you. Creators of all sorts of content likely aren't out to hurt anyone and just make what they enjoy.

Fandom Discourse

Okay we’re gonna get real for a few minutes on this humble meme blog. We haven’t been posting recently and we apologize! But whenever we check the ninjago tag there’s so much negativity! We try to stay out of this stuff but tbh y'all are going hard. So real talk, what’s everyone’s issue?

There has been too WAY much discourse for a lego fandom! Sexuality? Race? Gender? Come on! This stuff is up to personal interpretation. You want a character to be gay? Then they are! Want them to be trans? Go on ahead! Fighting over this stuff just wastes so much energy, it’s easier to just ignore it. Y'all gotta relax and let things play out. If you don’t like something, just unfollow the people who do, block them, blacklist them, whatever you have to do. It’s your own responsibility to block out what bothers you, you can’t change everyone to fit to your needs.

And oh man oh man, the ships? Llorumi is abusive? Blacklist it. Garmacest, timecest, literally any incest pairing? Just blacklist it. actually with incest there are only like four blogs so you can just block them. Greenflame? Again, blacklist it. Anything you have a problem with, you can blacklist it. You can’t force anyone out of the fandom, you can’t stop them from creating their content, the best you can do is just block them and move on.

Do NOT send death threats and do NOT harass them. Everyone has their rights to create what they want, ethical or not. They’re still people and nobody deserves that without good reason. If you are being harassed by them, block them immediately. I personally haven’t seen much of it, but I don’t see everything that happens here. If they send you death threats? Block and report them. Just stay in control, ask for help if you need it.

This fandom could be a wonderful place if everyone stopped being so aggressive and mean to each other over their opinions. Fandoms are meant to be fun, a place to share content and ideas! Not a place of negativity. Again, we aren’t trying to stop you from anything, just please try not to upset people over trivial things. Some people in this fandom can handle it, but others can’t. Just be wary and tag accordingly. Remember that you can always ask for help if you need any.
