I think of myself as an ally! At the same time, I feel like I’m still discovering who Sparkbird is, and who I am, and how intertwined those identities are. There’s definitely an avian/bird sona aspect of Sparkbird, and it brings me a lot of joy, and only time will tell where I’m headed. Who knows!

I’m grateful to have so many therian/otherkin/alterhuman listeners and that my shows and online spaces are (hopefully) places where you feel you can be open about who you are 💚 I support you!!

reminders for my nature loving friends and quadrobists as we are getting closer to summer weather (that aren’t just, wear loose clothing and wear sunscreen - those are for sure important and bear repeating however the stuff below is stuff i use in addition to all that!)

starbucks has free ice water*

know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

folding hand fans (produce wind) and umbrellas (produce shade) are your friend.

concrete / pavement makes things hot bc it reflects heat. look for shaded grassy patches and trees if you need to cool down.

freeze apple sauce pouches and use them as ice packs and a cooling snack for later

understand how the heat index works!!
