Finals happened a month ago and I passed all of them!! I spent most of my time at the library to study with my classmate, it was draning. The 2nd semester (out of 4) started 3 weeks ago, I'm sleep deprived and have too much to do.
Also yesterday was my birthday, I'm 24 now :)

10/25/24 🎃🎃
Financial math notes~ I’m watching Pride and Prejudice to help me focus
I used to think project based classes were great because if you just put in the work, they’re usually pretty easy. But I have to be honest I’m tired of the 10-15 hour weekly homework projects and a take home midterm triple the length of an average homework ^^;
On a side note, good notes kept crashing my iPad, so I had to switch to a new app LOL

Welcome !
My name is Matilda (she/her), INFP and a pisces. You can find my age on my bio. My first language is french, I apologise for all the mistakes I make under my posts lol. My surroundings often see me as a positive and cheerful person, I'm also pretty shy and reserved.
I am a registred nurse since 2023, and I'm now a midwife student!! It's my dream job since I'm a teen, so greatful that I finally get to learn what really interests me :)
My posts are basically updates about my journey as a health worker. All pics are mine, not found on pinterest ˆˆ. I created this page because it motivates me to keep studying and hopefully it'll motivate some of you!
Feel free to message me or ask anything <3

Trying to keep up with assignments and studying for the labour/birth exam coming on friday.
I have like 2 hours of train a day to attend my classes, which is exhausting lol.
I allowed myself to go out with friends on saturday after studying for 3 weeks. :)

First two weeks were intense, I'm drained. Lectures are so interesting tho!! And the midwives that are teaching us are very passionate, it feels great. So different from nursing school lol. I also made some friends!
Two more weeks to go before the exam on delivery, i have a lot to catch up already...

Midwife school starts tomorrow !! I'm so excited ! Waiting for this since I knew I got accepted back in may.
Did some last minute studies and gave my room a good cleaning. I'm the type of person who cannot work if my environment is messy lol.
I'm starting with 4 weeks of lectures about :
1. Pregnancy
2. Delivery (childbirth)
3. Postpartum
4. Midwifery sciences
At the end of these 4 weeks, I'll take my first exam for the childbirth unit before doing my internship in a delivery room for a month.

How to use highlighters effectively for study success 🖍️🖇️
Highlighting is a popular study technique, but it can often be misused, leading to cluttered notes and ineffective learning.
Choose the right highlighters
Invest in a variety of highlighters. Different colors can serve different purposes—use one color for definitions, another for key concepts, and a third for examples. This color-coding system will help you quickly identify information when reviewing.
Read first, highlight later
Before you grab your highlighter, read through the material thoroughly. This allows you to understand the context and significance of the content. Highlighting without comprehension can lead to missing critical connections between ideas.
Be selective
Less is more when it comes to highlighting. Aim to highlight only 10-20% of the text. Focus on main ideas, key terms, and essential details. If everything is highlighted, nothing stands out.
Use symbols and abbreviations
Incorporate symbols or abbreviations next to highlighted text to indicate importance or your thoughts. For example, a star could signify a crucial point, while a question mark might indicate areas you want to explore further.
Create a legend
If you’re using multiple colors or symbols, create a legend at the beginning of your notes. This visual guide will help you remember what each color or symbol represents, making your study sessions more efficient.
Review and revise
After highlighting, take time to review your notes. Summarize the highlighted sections in your own words. This reinforces your understanding and helps with retention.
Practice active engagement
Instead of passively highlighting, engage actively with the material. Ask yourself questions about the content as you highlight, and jot down answers in the margins or in a separate notebook.
Utilize digital tools
If you prefer digital studying, many apps allow you to highlight text electronically. Explore features like tagging or adding comments to enhance your study materials further.
Regularly revisit your highlights
Don’t just highlight and forget! Schedule regular review sessions to revisit your highlighted notes. This spaced repetition will solidify your understanding and improve long-term retention.
By being selective, using color strategically, and actively engaging with your material, you can transform your notes into powerful study tools.

life updates as a nursing student ˚ ೀ⋆。˚ ༘⋆₊
i completed my vital signs return demonstration! i got good feedback 🥹
i’ve been feeling more comfy with my classmates! i’ve been getting compliments from them recently and it’s so sweet 🥲🩷
i’m building a solid sense of self love—giving myself recognition, honoring my intuition, and feeling safe in myself.
i’m reconnecting to my passion for nursing! i’m remembering the bigger picture: practicing self mastery and being able to serve the community.
