“I’m actually alright.” Matt dismissed the woman, of course there was always one person who’d end up being weird.
matt-burton-ba:
“Oh, but it looks like you got some on your shirt.” Val smiles, leaning against the wall. “Feel free to take it off, if that would make you more comfortable.”

“Uh, yeah.” Running a hand through his hair, he stared down at the floor. “Had to find and get rid of severed parts, or they’d start to stink out the place.”
matt-burton-ba:
Alecto raised a brow. “Did it really have to take so long?”

“It’s not up to me. Go and talk to one of the higher-ups about it.”
matt-burton-ba
“Well, it’s bullshit. Whatever idiot made that rule should really rethink it and change it.”

“Just wanted to help, is all.” Matt shrugged, before looking down at his shirt. That would need changing. “Yeah, it was messy.”
matt-burton-ba:
“I didn’t know that cleaning lady is part of being a guard here. Although I think you missed something.” The blonde pointed towards his shirt with the blos sticking on it.

“Sorry, kid. It’s just the rules. I didn’t make ‘em up.”
“Oh my god, you are fucking ridiculous. You’re withholding my right as an American citizen. Jesus christ, even fucking criminals get one phone call, why the fuck can’t I?”

“And there’s the people who can’t defend themselves. If they can’t, who will?I’m the one that’s gotta make sure they don’t get the weapons they need.”
matt-burton-ba:
“Don’t get me wrong, I don’t believe in it, but I also don’t dislike it. Their caged souls are once free to do what they urging for, why stopping them.”

Just think the whole fightin’ thing is unnecessary.
matt-burton-ba:
I’m starting to think you’re confused. I don’t allow just any human on my staff team. You signed up for this. It kept you from being in the same position they are in.

Once Kayden tried lookin back at the body on the bed, Matt turned her head back, making sure that she wouldn’t look back again. That was the main problem. If she didn’t stop looking, it would be harder to forget. She needed to focus. “There’s some weird people around here, doing weird shit, but that doesn’t mean you’ve done anythin’ wrong.” Starting to walk down the hall, he took the girl with him, looking out for any patients that should have been in bed.
F2F || Kayden and Matt
matt-burton-ba:
The boy’s eyes were staring right into her, boring into her soul as her vision fixated on his body, her breathing rough and unsteady as the girl tried in vain to get oxygen to her brain. Kayden felt his hands on her again, turning her away from it, though she tried to look back over her shoulder until his hands were on her face, keeping her looking at him. Still she was trembling and breathing hard, the image burned into her brain even as he was telling her to go with him. She nodded at his words, desperate to get away from it, but the nodding quickly turned to shaking. “I-it is my fault t-they all hate me they wanna kill me,” she sobbed.

matt-burton-ba:
I can imagine it’s rather hard for human staff members to work here with all your pesky morals and all.

They trust me, Sir. I never signed up to hurt anyone. Especially sick people.
matt-burton-ba:
I don’t believe I ever gave you the option of opening your mouth when it comes to the way I run my asylum, Mr. Burton. One more comment from you and I’ll strip you of your guard duties and you’ll be placed in this as a target for my patients to prey on.

Just thinkin’ this is messed up, that’s all.
matt-burton-ba:
I’m starting to think your job wasn’t very clear when I offered you a position as a human on my staff. Perhaps I should rip it away and make you a slave.

Matt made sure that she had sat down before he considered leaving to get her something. Maybe she’d be asleep by the time he got back, since she was yawning. In his books, that usually meant someone was tired. Leaving the room, he swiftly made his way to the kitchen, before bringing back a bowl of Lucky Charms, potato chips and a bowl of tomato soup. He wasn’t sure what she’d like, so she could pick what she wanted.
matt-burton-ba:
Avery yawned as she watched him unlock the door, but she couldn’t fall asleep any time soon, she walked over to the couch and curled up as small as she could. She looked at him and nodded slightly, she was hungry but asking for things wasn’t her greatest skill.
