I really do not understand how they expect us to function like this! While security is obviously very important, I can’t help but feel like things may be getting out of hand. I am already busy enough with trying to compensate for the loss of majority of our staff, and now we’re expected to take even more time out of our strained schedules to punish an assigned Submissive? I just do not understand when I’m supposed to have time for this!

Also, as of today, Alexander Babin and I will be official entering a mock claim.

Mattie: What about the Professor?

Addi: He's been hiding in his shell more than usual. He most certainly misses you. We all do.

Mattie: You still haven’t come to see my place.

Mattie:  Are you safe?

Addi: I am. I'm in the Hospital, and goodness knows there are fewer places that are safer than here. Addi: Are you at home?

Mattie: If you mean my apartment? Yeah.  Being alone feels like a bad plan right now.

Addi: Yes, I did. Really, anywhere away from town hall is preferable, comparatively. 

 Addi: My shift is almost over. Would you like me to stop by on my way home?

Mattie: Yes.  Please. 

 Mattie: I might kidnap you.

Addi: I'm scheduled to be done in about half an hour. I'll do my best not to get sucked in to any cases until then. 

Addi: Please don't leave your apartment, Matilda. Not until this mess gets sorted out.

Mattie: kay. 

Mattie: I won’t... but like... I need you to text me when you leave, please.  With an ETA.

Mattie: Oh, fuck.  There’s a hostage situation at city hall.

Addi: I just heard. So far no one has come in with a gun shot wound, but everyone here is preparing for the worst. Addi: I'm not sure if I'll be able to leave, to be honest. We're short staffed enough as is, for a Friday night.

Mattie: :(

Addi: I'm going to leave as soon as I can, Matilda.

Mattie: Does this happen a lot here?  I feel like this town just got over a crisis.

Addi: There seems to have been an unfortunate upswing in crises, these last few weeks, most certainly. 

Addi: With the appearance of the nameless, and the ousting of Mayor Winters, things have been in quite the disarray.

Mattie: jfc.

Mattie: Stay over? 

Mattie: Please? 

Mattie: I don't care how late it is.

Addi: Of course. I don't think I'd be very comfortable, not knowing you were okay. Especially with all that's been going on, as of late. 

 Addi: All of your windows and doors are locked, correct?

Mattie: Thank you. 

Mattie: Yeah.  Avery locked up the restaurant with that fancy alarm system and all my other doors and windows are locked too. 

Mattie: This is why I need a dog.

Addi: You don't need to thank me, Matilda. I care about you. 

Addi: Good. It's reassuring, knowing that there are barriers between you and this insanity. 

Addi: That's one positive of having a dog, I suppose.

Mattie: I care about you too.  Which Is why I'm now worried about you taking on anything that has to do with this mess.  What if they come to the hospital?  What if one of the 'hostages' is actually one of the people holding them hostage??  You're not allowed to die.  Okay?

Mattie:  Dogs are built in alarm systems.

Addi: Matilda, deep breaths. You need to stay calm. I'm safe, and I'm getting ready to leave. There's no indication of any kinds of situations of that nature. You're going to get overexcited about nothing. 

Addi: Perhaps. They do produce an extraordinarily large amount of waste as well, though.

Mattie: I watch all the shows.  And on the shows these sorts of things happen all the time. 

Mattie: I should know. I clean up their poop for a living.

Addi: Those programs are certainly not based in reality. They're meant to thrill, and thrill they do. 

 Addi: Exactly. Isn't that enough.

Mattie: BUT SOME OF THEM ARE BASED ON REAL EVENTS ADDI 

Mattie: Never having a dog is truly my deepest regret.

Addi: Matilda! You are letting your imagination run wild. I'm coming over, now. Please try to calm down. Put on a pot for some tea, and try not to panic. 

Addi: I suppose there's still time. You'll have to make sure it can play nice with the children. And the Professor, of course.

Mattie: yes, Miss. 

Mattie: Are you telling me my years of begging you have finally paid off??

Addi: Good girl. I don't need you worrying yourself for no reason. I'm on my way over now. Do not open the door until I call you. 

Addi: You're a grown woman. I cannot stop you from getting a dog, if you really want one. But there will obviously be parameters.

Mattie: I won't, Miss. 

Mattie: Grown woman or not, you honestly think I'd get a dog without your approval?

Addi: I'm leaving the hospital now. 

 Addi: I should think not.

Mattie: I mean, if I die you get custody.

Mattie: This is ... insane.

Addi: I admit, I definitely wasn't expecting things to escalate so quickly.

Mattie: I’ve never been more grateful to be 23. 

Mattie: I’m scared.

Addi: You need to come home. Immediately. I expect you to be there to night when I'm done at the hospital.

Mattie: ... but like.... 

Mattie: Yes, Miss. 

Mattie: don’t I need an escort?

Mattie: Asking my old dance teacher if she can get me there. The police escort thing scares me shitless.

Addi: You are correct. I apologize, the notion slipped my mind. This whole situation will take some time to get used to. Please be sure to thank her for me.

Mattie: I’ll keep you posted.

Addison: Good girl. I know everything is a bit of a mess, so if there's no one who can take you, I can pick you up after work.

Mattie: I tried... but no one can take me.

Addi: It's okay. I appreciate that you at least put out the effort. I don't mind coming by. I'd much prefer it to entrusting you're safety to someone you don't know.

Mattie: Thank you. 

Mattie: I can’t believe this is happening.

Addi: It's still quite difficult for me to wrap my head around, as well, to be honest.

Mattie: Not gonna lie- this is a total shock to the system after being in Ireland for the last few years.

Addi: I think that's understandable, Matilda. Things are certainly... not ideal. 

Addi: I am sorry you returned under such circumstances, but I am glad you've returned home. 

 Addi: Perhaps this will prove to be an advantageous time to talk about us, if nothing else?

Mattie: I’d like that. 

Mattie: to... you know, talk about us.

Addi: Tonight, then. 

Addi: I need to drop off Dr. Frightman, and then I'll pick you up. 

Addi: Do not answer the door until I call.

Mattie: Tonight. 

Mattie: Yes, Miss.

Oh hella. Dogs’ll save your whole ass life. I used to live alone but kinda not alone? I always had, like, company over n’ stuff, so I was never really alone. But now I have a roommate , which is pretty cool. I highly recommend roomin’ with somebody you already know, though. You should check out the local shelters when things are back up and runnin’. 

Makes sense.  Yeah, I’m definitely going to look into the dog thing.
