she’s the youngest daughter of a village vicar, her family are highly conservative and religious.

her parents are convinced that she has strayed from the faith because she’s the only kid who didn’t get a name straight out of the bible. she doesn’t mind as long as they keep thinking its their fault.

she used to do a ton of gymnastics when she was younger so very bendy and seems athletic. was a chaser in her fifth year for the single season because she was too unpredictable, had a habit of doing stupid tricks and/or fighting those who tackled her. she never took it seriously enough for real competition.

when she got her hogwarts letter it was finally confirmation of what she had sort of KNOWN about herself, about feeling different, about feeling displaced.

mattie is absolutely tetherless, she spends more days ducking out of her window than not and all her friends have had her stay over the summer. she’s so good at sweet talking parents its kinda scary. she’s a consistent runaway and found staying inside hogwarts sometimes so stifling, she’d long for her shitty little 90s vw polo and a motorway stretching ahead of her.

she’s one of those people who just seems to know?? everyone?? some people won’t necessarily like her but she had mates in every house. she was big on party culture at hogwarts and helped teach everyone a myriad of muggle drinking games. ring of fire is a favourite. though the introduction of actual fire, even she’ll admit, may have been a bit of a shit idea. that ravenclaw girl was still growing back one particularly singed eyebrow.

she’s not good at explaining herself. her mind changes all the time and she feels no need to let people know why she’s showed up or what’s going on with her just that they’re probably gonna have a good time if that means driving her car around all night smoking spliffs or eating the cheese toasties she makes even if you haven’t spoken to her once in the past two weeks. she just walks in like shes meant to be there with you.

has a rat named basil brush or just mr b, he is the best. no arguments.

mattie has to come across as too chill, always easy going and directing the conversation back at the other person unless she’s cracking jokes and talking about stupid shit. when it comes to people she loves she can be pretty explosive!! 

now works as a PI, just basically stalking people ala jessica jones for money. yep. 

was p detached from the war. she was concerned as people are by terrible history but it wasn’t part of her history or narrative until she started attending hogwarts. horrified but detached. now, things are changing.
